All together, that request is still 17 seconds. A good quality gif is ~7. If you push the quality or there's a lot of filler, you can get away with 10-11. 17 would end up looking pretty crappy.

As it is, your current set is WAY over the limit, you just haven't gotten caught.

If you want to trim it more I can give it a shot, or if someone else wants to try the 17 second one, but if not :zaru

I made it all the way to the last part, but the problem is that the result is very slow and the images are being animated backwards.

GIFs being animated backwards means you're importing the frames in the wrong order. From memory, CS3 doesn't have imageready, so I'm not too sure how to combat this. Try going reversing the order of the layers from the layer menu.

Really slow GIFs could be anything. Maybe you're importing too many frames, hence getting repeating frames and thus creating an artificial delay. If you're importing every frame from your video file, don't. Import every 2nd or 3rd frame from VDub or whatever you're using.

If that's not your problem then set the frame delay to something faster.

Not sure how much help I can be since I don't have CS3 myself, but if you want more help, PM me or hit my visitor's page.

I have CS3. It's simple. In the animation window, go to the right corner, there's some kind of drop down icon, click "Reverse Frames" and tata.

Also, slow gifs are usually too many frames. Go through your gif and delete every other/every 3 frames.

Borders are nice. I don't know how to do that and would like to learn, but my main problem is that I don't know how to increase the speed of the animation.

I don't think that you can manually increase the speed of the gif,the gif is normally always the same speed as in the original .avi video.

You increase the speed of the animation by deleting frames.

The more gifs you make the better you become at what frames can stay and which can go.

Also, when you extract the frames, setting your program to extract every 2 or 3 frames makes the process much easier.

I wish that my Image Ready wasn't broken,I have to convert my .avi videos into .mov before I can import it into the program. I guess that's what you get for pirating software.:zaru

Get CS3.

Then you can use VirtualDub/KMplayer to extract the frames and just import the images into CS3.
