Chihiro subs just plain don't make sense a lot of the time. As a somewhat mediocre speaker of Japanese, I understand more by watching the raw than I do when I'm distracted by reading their subs.

You should just use the softsubs, imo :S

I don't like softsubs because VLC has ass fonts, and the stroke on them is really thin. It's hard to read whenever there's a lot of movement or there's a really bright scene.

And MPOSX doesn't open them at all.

I wouldn't say it's more user-friendly, but I'd say it's a lot more robust. I use both XP and OS X at work and there's nothing I can do to crash OS X. Windows on the other hand, I'm scared I'll crash it after I violently sneeze. :hehee

Anyway, I just tested it on my work PC; MKVs open fine with MPOSX. To enable subtitles you got to push 'j' and select the appropriate subtitle track. f that doesn't work, just make sure your subtitle preferences are set in the preferences. :P

Has anyone else seen these modified episodes that allows you to switch between Eclipse and GG subs? They say it's 1920 x 1080 resolution, but I'm pretty sure it's an upscale. Also, the GG subtitle font used in it looks a tad bit thinner, but that could be just me. The files size averages at around 342 MB or so and if any of you are wondering what I'm talking about, they're available at:

You have to sign up to download their stuff though. It doesn't take too long. I'm also thinking of archiving these releases considering right now I have both Eclipse's and GG's...
