Don't know much about opera (or IRC either, but I am vaguely aware that all sorts of DL goodies are to be obtained within its netspeaking halls) and my experience with torrent is limited to point-click-run-torrentfile-on-client, but I can offer you the link to dattebayo fansubs (http://yhbt.mine.nu/). Oh yes, and I found a semi-funny, semi-relevant link. If you go to urbandictionary and look up, say, Naruto and Neji, you get a few people mentioning the Naruto characters/series. If you look up Tenten, however... (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=tenten)

I am amused by the mention of 'white-irised, animalistic appearance' and 'demon fashion' especially.

An odd style of fashion. Often called 'demon fashion', it evolved from the extreme J-Rock movement in Japan, featuring completely decked out musicians and lead singers.
Tenten is comprised of many different characteristics, that, when put together, display a rather frightening appearance. It seems that with most Tenten followers, the focus or point of fashion is comprised of facial appearance. Wild, extremely colorful makeup complete with tweezed out eyebrows, long lashes, and a heavy amount of dark makeup under the eyes(to, most likely, convey a dead or exhausted theme) are just some of the makeup techniques used on a typical Tenten girl or boy. Piercings are extremely common, most appearing on the lips or nose area, where they are crowded and in large numbers. As many as seven lower lip piercings may occur.
However, one of the biggest points of so called 'demon fashion', are the colored contacts the Tenten wear. White lenses, so as to block out the colored iris, give the followers a freakish, animal appearance, that is not only shocking at first, but hard to get used to for many non-Tentens.
The clothing is really nothing special; mainly punk and grunge outfits, often dirty and shredded. For girls, however, their seems to be a trend in bright, happy colors, contradicting their demonic looks. Japanese influences are a constant in their clothing style. Other than that, really nothing special is contained in the fashion.
The most likely reason for this is the simple fact that most of the style is based on facial and bodily appearance, rather than clothing. It is because of this so-called "rule" that not many people can be considered Tenten "poseurs".
Music tastes vary. Going from J-Rock/J-Metal, to black metal, to industrial and EBM, even to Indie. Tentens are usually the most interested in underground and rock subcultures; odd genres of music not as well-known by the general public.
Therefor, you will not encounter many Linkin Park Tenten fangirls.

Okay, a question for you all. While arguing with someone about how Tenten isn't useless, the person asked me "When was the last time a weapon did something to anybody?" I got smart and answered....(manga spoiler)...

Sasuke's sword paralyzed Yamato.

Of course, I doubt that was the answer he was looking for. XD He probably meant a thrown one. So yeah people...help me out...when was the last time a thrown weapon did actual damage to someone? Like the most recent? Don't tell me it was when Sakura got her weapons deflected back at her by Zaku, or when Zabuza got put to sleep by Haku. =s

Something I also wondered was this. I remember reading an article before about how some manga was being too violent and manga-ka had to tone down their manga. The one that suffered from this was Hunter x Hunter, having black squares in pages as censoring. The last time we saw someone filled with shuriken and kunai was an illusion of Sasuke, and that was early in the manga. Do you think Tenten will ever be able to hit someone with a whole bunch of weapons, or will she never hit due to the fact that it'd have to be censored?

Well... that clone of Tenten was shown speared through. But well, the picture of the speared through figure was so distorted that... well, it was hard to even tell IF the clone was just speared through or if it kinda just disappeared and the weapons were left.

But regardless of who, she KILLED the stupid clone. That means she hit it.

kjgkhkh I'm hoping they give her a serious typed episode...she's been in a bunch of humorous episodes already. I can imagine her being sent off for a mission that requires her skill and then finding out that she can't strike the target for whatever reason it is. Then figuring out what the problem is and over coming it...

Though it could also be leaning more to something in the village. Like she's practicing in the village and can't hit anything? I don't know...not awake enough to think these thoughts through. *___*

Hmm...I don't think 199 has any relation to Tenten, to be honest...although she is a bit overdue for an arc or an episode. Kiba, Ino, Lee and Shino have had episodes to themselves, Chouji has recently been in an arc. Hinata's been in an arc and a standalone episode, so Neji and Tenten should be popping up soon enough.

Well as for today (er...tonight? 3:18 am over here, whee. XD)'s Tenten related post, I'll talk about Naruto RPG 3: Reijuu VS Konoha Shoutai, the newest Naruto game released for the Nintendo DS. While the first two RPGs were based on the anime (the first was based on 1-80, the second 81-135) this game has an original storyline that I'm too lazy to talk about. Tenten is a playable character in this game, but as you expect, she doesn't really have a huge role in the plot. Once you meet her, Neji and Lee in the Sand Village while they're on a mission, she doesn't really say that much afterwards. That's okay though, because it brings me to my next point...

The online option! You can go online with your party of four characters and face people in Japan (or whoever imported the game in what ever country they live in). This is one of the most fun and frustrating features of the game. It's fun because you get to fight other people with their parties. It's frustrating because 90% of the time, people won't use their own raised characters. See, with certain events you can unlock people who are already at their strongest potential, with maxed stats and everything. These people are Sandaime, Iruka, Jiraiya, Orochimaru, Tsunade, One Tail Kyuubi Naruto, Curse Seal 2 Sasuke, Kakashi, Gai, Itachi, Kisame etc. You can expect to face them *all* the time. The only Genin I've ever seen in play are Naruto, Sasuke, Lee and Gaara (maybe once). It's extremely annoying to be facing a team of Kakashi, Sandaime, Jiraiya and Tsunade over and over. I'm going off topic though and this post is getting too long...

I have to say that Tenten is seriously one of the best characters in this game. As you could expect, she can equip almost any weapon in the game (except Gaara's sand gourds). She has high attack power at the sacrifice of low speed (weird, isn't it? Tenten not being fast...) The party I use is composed of Shikamaru, Sakura and Ino. Tenten's saved my life on many occasions, and on a few times took out an entire party by herself. This is because of Tenten's Twin Rising Dragons technique. It attacks all enemies on the field and has a chance of blinding the opponent with darkness (plus it does a lot of damage). Tenten also has a technique where she throws explosives at all enemies, and to attack a single enemy she uses a technique called Anki Rendan (Dark Tool Combo?) throwing a bunch of weapons. Often I like to have Ino double Tenten's attack power with her "Give 'em a 16 hit combo!" cheering technique, and then the enemies scream in horror as they recieve 700+ damage from Tenten's Soushoryuu. =D

I didn't expect Tenten to have much of a role in the story, but as long as she's playable, I'm happy. (and you don't have to wait until the end of the game to unlock her! woo~ )

Are you able to play as all the genin in this one though? Since at the end of RPG2, you had to chose two from Ino, Hinata, Tenten and Shino. I got Ino and Tenten, so I never got to play as Hinata or Shino, because none of my friends have the game so I can trade items T___T

Alright! Back from Otakon! A bunch of fun, crack, yelling, walking. Omg, I soooo want to do it again next year, but next time I want to make sure I don't miss the Naruto Photoshoot. I wanted to kick myself for that, but all well. A lot of people were yelling, 'OMG TENTEN'! Everytime I walked down the hall. And a lot of people asked for pictures. Once I finish taking a few more pictures today I'll post some of my cosplay. XD Mind you it was my first time cosplaying, I sewed the entire costume by hand, and after a while of walking I wanted to die. XD But it was definitely worth everything. *dance*

I updated the member list! And we now have over 150 members!!! 158 to be exact. I'm so happy with how this FC has grown. Hopefully more fans are made as well. =D

Welcome, ender! I've seen you on Shishi Rendan, you made an awesome Tenten guide! I'm known as Yukiwarashi there, but I have yet to re-sign up. >>;

I use Tenten exclusively against my friends, and I say she fits just fine into middle tier. She's not too strong, but she's not a pushover either. Her level 1 ougi (Rising Twin Dragons) is so easy to connect, and the aura afterwards is excellent. No items have any effect on you. Oh, how I love Tenten. If only she wasn't so bad in Narutimate Hero 2 (actually I just had a problem with how much her defense sucked).

Enough ranting on that. Back to Naruto RPG 3 talk XP. I started a new game so I could raise another team to level 99 for online battles. Of course, Tenten is a must for my team, but it's troublesome deciding which theme team I'm going with this time. There's Team Gai (Lee, Neji and Gai obviously) and Team Kunoichi: Sakura, Ino and Hinata.

Team Kunoichi seems weak, but it's actually very balanced. Sakura provides healing and powerful Inner Sakura techniques. Ino's Mind Confusion Jutsu comes in handy, as well as her poison/status affecting flowers. The power of the team is shown with Tenten's weapons and Hinata's Gentle Fist. Ahh, which team should I use? I'll let you guys decide, 'cause I'm stuck. XD Team Gai or Team Kunoichi?

Oooh, and one more thing. In past Naruto RPG games, there were events that you could do to become closer with your teammates. In the first Naruto RPG, Naruto was allowed to eat ramen with Sasuke, Sakura, Shikamaru, Lee or Neji. If you chose the type of ramen they liked, your friendship would increase with them and you could do a double team attack in battle. In Naruto RPG 2, Iruka lets you choose a team of 6 to go into the hot springs and bond.

This time, there's a movie theater. In addition to looking at all 3 Naruto movie posters, you can watch the ending of the game and do 2 things. You can watch the Icha Icha Paradise movie (only adults in the party can watch it) or 3 other movies that anyone can watch. For amusement purposes, I chose Itachi and Kisame to watch the Icha Icha Paradise. The movie starts and Itachi looks pissed, saying ".....". Kisame looks weirded out and also says "...." This continues for a while until Itachi's eyes darken and he says "This is...nonsense." Kisame replies, "Indeed, Itachi-san." and then they leave.

I feel bad for Tenten x Neji fans though. I went to check out the 3 movies for everyone and all Tenten and Neji ever did was say some default saying I can't translate. I tried Lee x Tenten and one of the movies had a special scene. I didn't know what they were saying, but Lee was getting all excited as usual and Tenten was trying to calm him down. Then Lee leaves and Tenten chuckles to herself. This raised their friendship in battle. When your friendship level is good with another character, they will protect you in battle and take the hit when your health is low.

And Tezuka Kunimitsu, you're totally awesome for posting the information for Tenten here. I always wondered what the first databook said about her. And I find it awesome that she carried the weapons on her person...though I don't think it really rules out the use of scrolls to keep those weapons hidden. I only say this because in her primary sketches, it shows her throwing up two scrolls, which would be the reason the anime team probably designed her filler move, Soushoryu. But what I find the most interesting about that passage is the fact that he says, her development has yet to be seen...and yes I know this is something said towards the beginning of the series, but Kishimoto has said in numerous interviews that he knows how he is going to end his series....soooo...perhaps she will get proper attention eventually. But I'll shut up now. XDD

It's true, it doesn't rule out the scrolls, however the first time it was actually shown that scrolls were used to hold items was in part 2 of the manga, with Naruto, Tenten and Kankurou. Kishimoto really is influenced by the anime, isn't he? Heh heh.

Oh, speaking of which, Pazuzu gave me a general summary of that animation page as well. Nothing new there, either.

-(Picture of Tenten's different expressions) "Tenten's cheerful personality allows her to have different expressions like Lee. Her hair is like dango." o_o
-When Tenten changes her pink attire, she seems to appear more adult-like when supporting Neji.
-Soushoryuu is like scrolls dancing the air. It's her ultimate ougi (technique).
-You can use scrolls to summon lots of projectile weapons.

So yeah, nothing really new there. It's just cool that the anime came up with a concept that the manga made canon later on.

Hey, whatsup? I was in Europe on a bus tour the past two weeks so I wasn't able to post anything.

Who found that translation of the databook? I have to give that person rep, but there's been so many posts that I've missed that I dunno how to find it.

But meh, Tenten's going to have to get some character development at some point, I've fairly sure of it. He said before that among the female characters he liked her design the best. Well, a character's design consists of more than just outer appearances.

You know I've been wondering actually... just what ARE the chances Tenten's related to a Hokage, you know since she doesn't have a last name and all? Probably low right? ^-^ *shrug*

And hey, I like Temari too. I think I remember reading somewhere that in the databooks it states that Tenten looks up to both her and Sakura as rivals.

I think she respects Temari a lot, and she doesn't seem to hold a grudge against Temari for the defeat during the chuunin exams.

Rep Pazuzu. I asked him for the translation, and since we're really good friends he did it for me. ^^;

I'd like to see Temari and Tenten talk in a chapter...or even in a filler. Maybe Temari could apologize for her attitude back then. In fact, I'm kind of surprised Temari never interacted with Tenten visibly since...but meh, as long as Tenten isn't the type to hold a grudge.

As for the Hokage thing, I can't really see her being related to anyone. First has Yamato with his powers, as well as Tsunade. Third has Asuma and Konohamaru. Fourth may have Naruto...yeah. It's too bad really.

I still wish Tenten would get her own important battle, just to show how good she is. However, after reading Tomoe's essay, I realize how impossible it may be as long as Tenten sticks to her projectiles. Here's hoping anyway! XD

And it's still possible that Tenten will get a battle of her own. Long range may be her form of combat, but it's not her only method. She is capable of short range as seen in the Kisame clone vs Team Gai battle. What I can see happening is that Team Gai may get another chance to battle Kisame (the real thing)...hopefully by then Tenten will get a moment to shine properly...not that her participation in the Kisame clone battle wasn't cool. XD Bombs kick ass and she should use them more. x3

I always get the feeling she's the daughter of the Mizukage. I mean everyone (that I know of) fights with weapons in the water country. Zabuza, Haku, and Kisame. Either with giant swords or senbons or something like that. *shrugs* I'm wrong, I know but that's just a theory I thought of. Tenten and her weapons. They scare me sometimes but other times I have to say "COOL!"

Well, I'm glad they aren't just giving her stupid parts in the fillers she has participated in. XD Even though I'm sure not many really like the Curry of Life filler, it really did give a realistic measure of her determination and strength. I mean...sometimes I think I'm the only one that saw the fact that for a majority of her fight with Raiga, Tenten was doing well for her only option choice in weapons. If she used any of the metalic kind she would have been in worse off shape. I'm glad she got as far as she did. Afterwards, she even helped save Ranmaru (sp?). She didn't defeat Raiga, but she sure put up a hell of a fight...I mean...the other filler battles that have been shown are pretty crappy and the participants really don't do much battle wise before killing off the evil person (ie Neji getting pwned by lightning or Naruto defeating a villian with a Rasengan...yes I know the move is powerful, but there's really no exploration in the battle uses it could have...it's just Rasengan --> Hit --> Dead...there's never anything creative like how Naruto used his clones during the Gaara fight). That's one of the reasons I adore the Curry of Life filler. I also like the current filler cause it helps show more of her analytical side.

I think ew_younerd said it best, that Tenten's position on her team is to basically observe what is going on and then end on a note of a powerful attack. Example being when she threw her bomb at the end of her team's series of attacks. It's really cool. I could go on and on...but yeah...even though she doesn't have her particular episode, she does have her shining moments. They aren't as glorified as others, but Tenten isn't really just there to look pretty and be useless. .....I think I went off on a tangent...all well. Sorry. [/end fan rant]

Well, in my dreams anyway. :P And fanfiction, and MVs, and all of those fan stuff because Kishimoto is going way into Tenten's name meaning "sporatic," "here and there."

Dude, it also means "heaven!" How awesome is that? How could you not use a character with the name "Heaven" (Twice! XP)?

Tenten's parts in fillers were pretty good, and they weren't incredibly repetative like...well...Naruto. >> And we got to see some cool weapons and all.

And dude, I am so going to make an icon with Tenten from Ep 199 with her holding a ball-and-chain. =D
