The Tenten FC: Watch Out for the Rain of Steel

This is the Tenten FC, not the NejiTen FC.

Although a huger percent of Tenten fans are NejiTen fans. (including me :smile-big)

I am well aware of that, it was just an afterthought. :smile-big

I'm debating writing a NejiTen fic right now, even though I've only got about a month to do so. After reading a fic on ff.net where Tenten spoke like a valley-girl or something close to it *nervous twitch* I had a creative urge to write a NejiTen fic where Tenten wasn't really annoying and/or Neji wasn't terribly OOC.

But yeah, I kinda consider goldberry as like the Queen of NejiTen fics right now. Although one fic I REALLY want to update is Sea of Sand, it's just gorgeous. Just a Mission by Cyberwing is pretty good too. The fic that got me twitching was "Teach Me How To Kiss." I really liked the concept, but the way Tenten was written . . . . UGH.

In any case, I got the fic idea when I was watching When Harry Met Sally. It occurred to me that Harry and Sally's relationship was kinda similar to a NejiTen relationship in the way it evolved. Y'know, awkward meeting (although we never saw them meet), rocky friendship, mutual admiration, then romance. However I am not the sort of author who copies a plot exactly and just throws the anime characters in, and Neji and Tenten aren't at all like Harry or Sally, so it wouldn't be the same as the movie. Neji and Tenten have their own unique relationship, they wouldn't go through the same experiences. The only thing I might put in is the catalyst of the night they slept together.

So what do you guys think? Should I write "When Neji Met Tenten"?

Ive also been thinking of writing a long fic.. two, actually. One would be set around christmas time in konoha, which has been done before I believe, but I'd be sure to make it nice and angsty. Maybe I can even kill Neji! xD ...Nah.
The other one centers around Oroachimaru's second attack on Konoha. It'd be mostly Team 7 centric, but NejiTen would get a good few chapters in there.

And I want to write a fic wherein Lee opens all his gates to protect a precious person. xD

Hm...looking over at the Tenten topic in the Konoha Library, I have to find myself agreeing with a lot of people's points over there. It'd be nice to see Tenten use a sword (or...two...OR THREE XD but that'd be copying Zoro from One Piece) or some other type of weapon. I really wish Tenten came along on the Rescue Mission =/ Kishimoto shouldn't have made an all boys team...but oh well, that's Shounen for you. ^^;

Ok, I heard from other people's theories that Tenten might be next in the 'wish death list'. Since Kishimoto really wants to kill someone, like Gaara that might die or not, Sakura who almost died, and since Tenten's a minor character, it be easy for him to kill her off. :blink. This is mostly backed up by the comment Lee gave when they were chasing the Akaksuki, the part when he says "you haven't been training that much, Tenten" Something like that. So yeah...

I hope no one goes everywhere screaming out TENTEN"S GONNA DIEEE. :blink Just a theory that I really really don't want to be correct.

And by the way, the line Lee says to Tenten while travelling is, "Tenten, you lack discipline." He says that after she asks that they rest, because they've been travelling so much lately.
I cant see this as illustrating any weakness on her part- its there not to say something about Tenten, but more stuff about Lee. That HE has discipline and is determined, but not necessarily that she is not.

Anyways, the death of Tenten is unnecessary and unreasonable- from a writers standpoint, character deaths that would be carried out in the way Tenten's would have to be (fairly in depth) need to have an effect on the story, but Tenten doesn thave the developtment for that.

Now, Tenten getting greivously injured/saved is another story.

Hahaha, I usually get that way whenever someone mentions death around a character I like....cause for some reason all the characters I tend to get attached to die....*grumble*...but yes...she really needs some sort of development, even if it was just like a little flashback that would be great. All well, time will tell.

And that's not a bad wallpaper Lil Donkey. :D If anything, the only thing I could possibly suggest is working with blending the pic with the background. Other then that I like how it came out.

and just a thought, there's a slight chance Tenten might show up in the anime again. If my memory serves me right, Hizashi told Neji to protect Hinata or something like that right before Team 8 and Naruto left to go fnd Bikouchouu and he also said that Neji is having a different kind of trainning. Knowing that Hinata is captured, Neji might somehow show up with Team Gai? Then again it doesn't really make much sense considering that Hinata have been learning a few new moves herself o___o

I seriously doubt that Team Gai will show up in this filler. The filler is meant to be showing that Hinata can get a backbone when needed, so she's not going to be saved by Team Gai.
I wish they'd do a filler episode with Team Gai, hilarious and like episode 101. x)

Yeah, I highly doubt they would just randomly insert team guy in there...but then again they did randomly put InoShikaChou in the Mizuki filler (well not randomly, they did have a purpose I guess). It's really up in the air, but I do doubt the possibilities of that happening...but you never know. Guess we'll have to wait till the 14th to find out whether they randomly show up for some reason or another.

Or maybe she has a bunch of cool scrolls that make weapons shoot out of it, like in the third Naruto game on gamecube, where you press back and A. Or maybe she'll pull out some really cool looking weapons. In her profile in the game, she's supposed to be into fortune telling or something. However, I like Tenten without a last name because that's what make her so unique and mysterious among the other characters, well besides Gaara, Temari, and Kankuro but yes, and since she likes fortune telling which deals with psychic stuff, it'll make her double mysterious on how she does her actions.

I always thought Tenten would summon dragons after her soushoryuu technique. Or maybe she has a bunch of cool scrolls that make weapons shoot out of it, like in the third Naruto game on gamecube, where you press back and A. Or maybe she'll pull out some really cool looking weapons. In her profile in the game, she's supposed to be into fortune telling or something. I dunno, maybe she has some kind of freaky deaky psychic stuff going on.

If I were Masashi Kishimoto, this is what I would put for her past... A girl who instead of doing girly girl things, was training with kunai and shuriken and other weapons. I'd make her a tomboy who spent most of her time training so she could accomplish her dream and become a strong ninja like Tsunade.

And maybe add something about her last name or something. :)

There are a number of good ones describing her past on ffnet though- Jupon Bukki, many that describe her as an orphan, one that says her mother got pregnant without being married. All of them do seem to portray her as tomboyish, but with some lovely angst as well. I personally like the orphan ones, because it fits in very well with her lack of a last name, and I just think theres something eerie about a ninja with no name.

And I dunno about you guys, but I think Tenten would be fine using more of those bigass bombs- like the one she used on kisame.

-nods- I agree with you all, however, I hope she has had a much more exciting past that she's never revealed to anyone and perhaps in a moment of angst remembers it. xD However, there seem to be too many angsty people in Naruto, so she could just be in an orphanage (it would be needed in a ninja village I suppose) and be sort of not too sad, but the ocassional sadness does come. But she's controlled and mature.

I love Juppon Buki on ff.net. However, teamgaifan writes her very well (orphan). I think her not having a surname adds to her mystery... xD

Yep yep, I have a lot to write, but I want to wait till the filler arc is over before I actually write or finish the whole thing. :amuse

I just dont get it when people say Tenten is useless. She can fight at range (VERY WELL), and now she can kickass short range. She PWNZ all girls pre-timeskip, hands down. (Well, maybe not Temari, but Temari was 2 years older, right? n_n;)
And Post timeskip, she can throw gigantic bombs! :O how cool is that? And she uses serated blades post timeskip, too. And she's hawter.

^lol She's amazing ain't she? I like her Soushouryuu jutsu that she used in the prelim matches. That looked awesome. She's really the only ninja that uses a lot of weaponery other than the default shuriken and kunai. Let's hope she can do something great with that pole of her, maybe something like Son Goku's Nyoboi.

A prhase that comes to my mind "only a fool would trust his life to a weapon" (credit goes to gray fox of metal gear solid, awesome game). Mind that i do like Tenten. i'm even a part of this fc. What i'm saying is that as long as she only uses weapons she'll be very limited. Temari is a good example, since her wind didn't helped. (though Temari and Kankurou are very limited since they are too specialized. like TenTen.), fast ninjas will defeat her. bloodlines don't help her. weapons are predictable if you know how they work. so yeah. it might be a good adition if ur on a team, but what will she do when she's alone?

In summary, what i want is a better Tenten. don't u?? :amuse

Tenten is great just the way she is. She kicks major ass, especially now that she's getting a bit of screen time in the filler and in the manga...damn she's just amazing. Every ninja has their specialty, and Tenten's just happens to be weapons. It might not seem big at first since the others seem to have a handle with Kunais and what may be powerful jutsu, but come on...all of them have their weaknesses. It just comes down to a good strategy (look at Shikamaru for example). And Tenten is no dummy that's for sure. She's intelligent, the second data book even says she loves to do research.

I can't really picture her any other way. She's unique, that's why I love her XD.

The image of how she killed her opponent made me smile though...crazy huge shurikens...and I like the big sword she threw on the left. Craziness. I don't think the face Tenten made at Tsunade was to be like she was shy or anything. I think she was like hoping not to upset Tsunade any further...Tsunade looked like she was out for blood lmao, I just think Tenten was trying to be polite (she did say sorry for the boys disrespect and was like in a rush to get out of there since she was all like "HEY WAIT FOR ME" and ran before Tsunade through the chair out the window). Speaking of the chair...did anyone notice that when they were bringing it back up the stairs after Lee takes Naruto and says bye to Sakura...the chair was bleeding and had a bandaid on it? At first I thought I was seeing things, but then my brother saw it too and I was like.....wtf...lmao

Relying on weapons in a shinobi way (self-propelled or melee) is different from Solid Snake relying on weaponry (guns, which requires a little less physical fitness, ne?). Tenten is a good fighter, and weapons ADD the edge and reach to make her better. If she didn't kick ass on her own, the weaponry wouldn't matter a futch. Personally I'd like to see her a swordsmaster or something. (MELEE rocks, which is why I :heart: Shinn over Kira in GSD...that's an aside, I know, sorry) The preview with her and the collapsible bo staff fills me with much happiness.

Surprisingly little action in the latest episode. Personally who I find most gypped is Neji, who is the team captain but (like Shino) is continually ignored by Naruto. (who I'm HAPPY is in the arc.) But unlike Shino, he didn't even really slap Naruto down for being nuts! (Although Naruto's acting a little cooler here than in other episodes. The part where he trains with Lee was sweet.) The closest he came is when Naruto made that entrance and he was all: "HEY who do you think you are?!" Heh.

It's not a Bo Staff, it's a Sansetsukon- It is composed of three sticks, each 70 cm long, joined by rope or chain. The Sansetsukon is considered the "elder brother" of the nunchaku.

I think Tenten is really good, because she is learning to master each weapon! Becoming a master of just one weapon has taken a lifetime for some people! Her attacks were only nullified because she was battling her natural enemy. I think if she had any other opponent, the outcome would have been a lot different. Majorly awesome...this is why I always got interested when Tenten appeared any time. Oh definitely. Any fanart is good. I mean, it shows you love that character. I did the somewhat the same with a diff character. I saw episode 152 and I have to agree that Tenten looked a bit weird there...but she might've just took a little time taking in the presence of her idol in the same room as her. I saw Tenten's face eating the curry and it was so funny....they were all bright pink. The preview of episode 153 wasn't what I expected though, because people kept saying how Tenten was the main person in the episode but it just turned out she was fighting. Don't get me wrong, I don't think that's bad, actually, I am extremely excited about seeing her new jutsus or moves.=)
