^ Konan should fight Team 8. Team Gai should totally fight Zetsu. It would be his worst match.
But honestly, it's most likely for them to fight Kisame.
And maybe you guys will get lucky and see some nejiten ^_^

I'm more prone to say that I would love Team 8 vs Zetsu then Team 8 vs. Konan. Zetsu seems like the stealthy hunter, and it seems like the perfect match since Team 8 is composed of a bunch of hunters as well. Maybe it's just that I don't see the logic in Team 8 taking on Konan. *shrug*

i hope its like this. Yamato vs konan,team 8 gets zetsu and team gai gets kisame after having a draw with suigetsu.when the last two fights are done there's goig to be a cook out back at konoha serving salad and sushi.

I really am hoping for a team Gai vs. Kisame rematch, so I hope that Kishi doesn't screw up and make Suigetsu victorious...it just seems wrong to me. D< I hope Kisame whoops his ass, and gets a chance to fight Team Gai.

Additional NejiTen Outside Sources

I'm sure some people wonder if there's any NejiTen sources outside of the actual canon manga material supplied by Miashi Kishimoto. EPISODE 14: WATER PRISON SCENE

We all know how the scene looked in the manga (http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/4483/mangaim2.jpg). 8D And we all were hoping for a bit more if they were going to animate it. Well...let's just say the anime team did an excellent job of putting together this scene. They added a fall, and catch with a very concerned Neji making sure Tenten was okay. Let's also not forget the pretty music playing while all of this is happening. It was a beautiful scene to say the least.

THE OMAKES: EPISODE 14 AND EPISODE 24

The most obvious of the hints is featured in the omake, the little feature shown at the end of each episode of Shippuuden, for episode 14. It features a little information given by Tenten and Neji about the Hyuuga clan. The scene is very cute, and includes much teasing of Neji by Tenten followed by her giggling at Neji. When Tenten finishes her bit on the Hyuuga clan, she asks for Neji's approval of it all. It's obvious our weapons mistress knows a lot about Neji. A very fitting omake for both characters, and funny how it was featured right after the water prison scene. Again in episode 24, they are featured together yet again.

Narutimate Hero 2 features two team ougis featuring Neji and Tenten. If Tenten uses Neji as a support character, he will finish off an opponent for Tenten. According to the English release, Tenten says something along the lines of "You saved me, Neji!" once he completes his attack. The scene starts at 7:29, which includes the first and second ouji.

This video game is set 2.5 years after the events of part I. And again, the game developers were on our side and provided quite a bit of hinting in our favor. Promotional wise, Neji and Tenten were featured primarily together as is seen in their profile pictures. This is very similar to the promotional art released for Temari and Shikamaru.

This mission is featured in the game, is filled with some really great moments between the two. For the mission, Tenten has beaten Neji in weapon evasion. Upon being beaten, Naruto wishes to challenge Tenten's abilities. If Naruto wins, the following is said by Neji:

Neji: Tenten, don't be bothered by it. You're good enough as it is...
Tenten: Neji! We're going to train ourselves to be better this instant! Come with me!!

Tenten: Yes! I won!

Neji: Ku... I lost...

Naruto: What? Neji lost to Tenten? What tricks did you use? (Naruto is implying that Tenten cheated XD)

Neji: Oh, it's Naruto.

Tenten: Hey, you shouldn't say bad stuff about others. I didn't use any "tricks." I beat Neji fairly in evasion training.

Naruto: Evasion training?

Tenten: It's training that helps evade enemy attacks and avoid getting into meaningless fights.

Neji: But, Tenten. How is it that you're that good with evasion?

Tenten: Huhu~n.. It's all about using your ninja tools properly.

Neji: Tools, huh... Well, it's undeniable that Tenten is better than the rest when it comes to using tools.

Naruto: But I bet I can clear this training easily!

Tenten: So you say. Then why don't you give this same training a try?

Naruto: Fine by me. Let's do it!

Tenten: Ahaha, interesting. Then let's get started. Let us see just how good you really are!

Training starts... One minute later...Training ends

Naruto: How's that? Aren't I amazing?

Tenten: That really is something... How is it that you're better than me!?

Naruto: Hehehe, this is what they call a difference in talent?

Tenten: This...This is vexing!!

Neji: Tenten, don't be bothered by it. You're good enough as it is...

Tenten: Neji! We're going to train ourselves to be better this instant! Come with me!!

Neji: *sighs*

Naruto: Uh... It looks like I did something wrong...

Neji: No, on the contrary, losing to you seemed to have motivated her.

Naruto: I see. Neji, I leave Tenten to you.

Neji: Yeah.

And as if the hinting couldn't get more obvious, the game designers for Narutimate Accel 2 decided to reintroduce support characters. If Neji is chosen as Tenten's support character, or vice versa, they do a specific move for each other that they don't do for any other character they are set as support characters for. If Neji is set as Tenten's support, he performs kaiten to protect Tenten. However, when Neji is set as anyone else's support, including that of Lee and Gai, he will only perform a few jyuuken jabs against the opponent. If Tenten is made Neji's support character, she will throw 3 massive shadow shuriken at the opponent. If she's set as anyone else's support, she only throws a few shuriken and kunais.

A lovely card featuring Neji and Tenten. It was part of a set that also included a NejiTen gold/silver coin. 8) The card is called, "reliable companion". In terms of NejiTen, this is a perfect description for them mainly because they always have each other's back through thick and thin. It's nice to be reminded of this dynamic in the card game. The second card doesn't feature a translation, but again another NejiTen card to add to the collection.

Pretty much the only other things I have left are the Part I fillers (arg...so many) and the shounen site profile for Tenten, which if I remember correctly listed her as being Neji's personal sparring partner or something to like. I have to open my script folder again. XD

Okay, essay tiem...

WHY NEJITEN IS l33t:

Okay, here we go. So in the beginning, we have this: the bushy browed loser from whom the girls flee, the sexy but cold prodigy to whom the girls flock, and the plain-Jane brunette that the other girls ignore because she's more interested in sharp objects than hairdos. Very quickly, Lee and Gai form a bond that will never sever. It may be 0___o inducing, but it's a powerful relationship. So that leaves Tenten two options. She A: Trains alone and never gets to really know her teammates, or B: approaches Neji and calmly explains she is NOT a fangirl, but a serious kunoichi. Obviously, she chose B. And so through that time in training, Tenten did develop a somewhat fangirly attitude towards our Neji-snookums, evident in her support of him in the ongoing feud between him and Lee. Neji, on the other hand, found a confidant, a person who'd listen to his anti-Main Branch rants patiently and with a calm face. While Neji is reluctant to openly communicate with Lee past orders and strategy, he speaks with Tenten about things outside of the team.

Now let's head over to the Chuunin exams. Neji had fully expected Tenten to win her match. And when she lost-- does anyone have volume 9?? His facial expression conveys a complete disbelief, along with his words: "Amazing... she shut down Tenten's weapons attack like it was nothing...". How often does Neji express genuine shock in the series?? Now we go to Neji vs Naruto *I won't start another Anti-Naruto rant, so...* At the very end, when Naruto VERY UNREALISTICALLY beat Neji with ONE PUNCH, everyone started cheering. Except, of course, Tenten, who felt sympathy and concern for Neji (I am writing a fic based off this scene). Blah blah, Konoha invaded blah, Itachi owns Sasuke blah, Tsunade becomes Hokage... Someone else (Blooming-Cosmos-san, I believe) wrote about that moment... So Neji is dying now. After the longest and hardest fight of his life, after having holes ripped throug his body, he's won. And now he's saying goodbye to life. In both the anime and the manga, the face he lingers on the longest is Tenten's. The anime shows a scene with all of Neji's important people lined up in the sunshine, with guess who, TENTEN front and center, calling his name with a huge smile on her face. I think it might've been that point in time where Neji realized how much Tenten meant to him. In the filler arcs, Neji and Tenten are always together. Creepy curry of life episodes: together. Raido the pedo episodes: together. Carpenter who blows sh!t up episodes: When Neji volunteers to take a posistion, Tenten immediately goes with him. The only arc where they're not with each other is the last one, Rescue Matsuri. Poor Tenten was on a mission... :(

SHIPPUDEN TIME!!! If you're still in denial by now, not for long!! Team Gai's re-appearance is characterized by the usual youth nuttieness, complete with exasperated remark from Neji and Tenten trying to calm everyone down while at the same time in complete agreement with Neji. So blah blah blah, screw you Naruto and Kakashi, I love Kankurou but this isn't his FC, SAKURA-CHAN!!! :love... But then we get to the Team Gai vs Kisame the FAKE. Blahdeblahblah OOP! Now they're all trapped in the jutsu that left Kakashi free to speak and breathe, but is now drowning our precious Team Gai. (plothole much?) Neji's using his Byakugan to try and find a way to escape, but lo and behold. Tenten is running out of air. Lee's struggling, too, but what's Neji worried about more? Tenten. So ONLY THEN does he completely own the Kisame fake's fakes and free his teammates. So, without any glance in (poor) Lee's direction, Neji rushes over to Tenten and swoops her up into his arms. *Dammit, Kishi, if she'd been unconscious... :jir_thumb* And then, she opens her eyes, and they look at each other with so much love and understanding...

And afterwards, when fighting their clones, Tenten gets knocked down into the river! And who is it that screams her name, his voice loaded with fear for his one and only?? It's Gai-sensei, stupids. (If you didn't catch the sarcasm there...) IT WAS NEJI!!!!

Let's step back and look at the pairing as a whole now. If there were one word to describe NejiTen, it'd be CONSTANT. NejiTen is just that. They're always together, they're the good parts that fill in each other's flaws. I'm a total pairingwhore. I'm not kidding. I support Sakura with 6 GUYS!!! I like several pairings for most of the other girls. But who else does TENTEN go with?? There is no other person to complete her, k?? And NejiKiba (ew.), NejiNaru (I will admit, if Tenten died, Naruto [as much as I hate him] is the only other one he'd work with), and all those other yaoi pairings may be smex, but for once in my life, I'll say no to yaoi, because NejiTen is the only way to go. So NejiTen, while other pairings go in and out of my favour, will always be
CONSTANT.

I'm in a good mood today and I know that out of Team Gai, I focus on Neji and Tenten's relationship the least, so I made this! So this is just what seems obvious to me. Not what I've concluded by analyzing the pairing :) It's kind of like how someone on the outside would view it.
So sorry if I make no sense, because I've hardly dwelled into the pairing or the fandom.

I'm pretty openminded when it comes to fandom and I usually try everything. One of the pairings I've warmed up to lately is Nejiten. I never saw this as a second Sasusaku. Tenten was very reserved in her feelings (if she has any) and was aleast subtle in showing she cared. Neji seemed to take her for granted. But seeing his shocked expression during the exams and seeing him come with her to see Tsunade, not to mention she was included in his flashbacks, I figured that even if they weren't friends, he aknowledged her existence more then he showed it.

Enter Neji:
Neji was born into the Hyuuga clan and showed great potential. He had a lot going for him. However, at the moment, the most important thing to him was not fighting or jutsu. It was his Father.
Neji followed his father everywhere. He was like a little duckling. His Father in return was genuineley kind to him. Hizashi however, was not as kind, as people beleive. He was good at heart, but he was resentful of the main branch; He went as far as wanting to kill his three year old niece, and even comments on 'only showing Neji his ugly side'. Hizashi is was good however. He later sacrafised his life for his brother,not wanting him to die. He left Neji alone, though.
Hiashi shut himself down to the obvious grief around him. Neji did not have a single guardian and was lonely and frustrated. It wasn't entirely his fault-Neji was good at hiding it. He was cold and unemotional because he did not want people to see he was hurt. Neji is obviously more sensitive then he comes off as. So he grew up alone, I doubt he made a lot of friends though I can imagine him being admired and even being fangirled over. I'm sure Neji just wanted to either understand his emotions or leave him alone. Hinata understood, but after having everything bottled up for so long her words cut through him so deeply that he pretty much exploded and attacked her, he's not emotionally stable as you can see. Neji did not want to hear emphathy. he just wanted to hear he was right, or maybe he'd have liked it if someone had talked to him about it (Hinata wasn't the best choice to talk to, he wanted to kill her and hated her sympathy because he hated her and didn't wnat his "enemy" being kind to him). So Neji was alone. You can't blame him for being so serious and cold.

Enter Tenten:
Tenten was you're average "ordinary girl with extra ordinary dreams". She's been given many titles. Tomboy, useless, personality-less, chinese prep, Chun-Li wannabe, The Chun Li of Naruto....I am aware not all of these are bad, but the only title we can really give her surely is one that no one gives her. A normal girl. But my favorite title for her is:
The peacemaker on Team Gai. Yes, Kishi says she has a neutralizing effect on her teamates, and he says she is constantly hanging out with *those three*, so it's safe to think this. From what I saw of Tenten, I dubbed her as the 'calm but happy type'. I really admired Tenten. She was so sure of herself and content. I like confident people. So she was a stable, normal, happy, confident girl ( I like her confidence best because she never gets discouraged-and if you're someone who gets picked on a lot, I'm sure you'd like to be this confident). I wanted her to get more focus, but I honestly think that while we don't know much about her-we know enough. I mean, we know her name, birthday, hobby, favorite food, fighting style, personality, teammates, age, goal,and rank. We know she is very stable, quite confident (and a bit cocky) and normally happy.

Because honestly she did like guys and was just a bit sweet on him. And she was tough but hardly rough. Did that mean Tenten automatically loved him and was constantly praising him? Oh hell no! Tenten went on with her life and he went on with his, untill one of them or maybe both of them, noticed Tenten could help Neji. And so, she helped him learn the kaiten. Neji never lashed out on her because she was sensible and stable, and Tenten never got frustrated with him (openly anyway) because he wasn't goofy (and tenten doesn't like goofiness) and he was a strong ninja (Tenten has a thing for strong). So gradually, steadily enough, Neji and Tenten came to trust eachother and.........enventually fell in love...? Um....no...
They became partners, sparring partners. Card games and video games have picked up on this partnership quickly. In fact, I believe there is a card called "reliable partner" featuring these two. So Tenten threw her weapons and enventually began to care for the Hyuuga boy. Neji began to rely on her, even if he may not care for her. I think that if Neji trusted her to tell her about the blindspot (Tenten says he can see nearly 360 degrees, he does like her. Just like a casual 'oh that person is nice' kind of like. In fact because of her fear at the sight of his curse seal, but no reaction later, she probably knew about that too. Gai was most distant from him at the time but he knew something. Lee knew too. I believe Tenten may have picked up something too, especially since she is a research enthusiastic and a busybody, she probably wants in on the not-so-secret secret. I think if Neji trusted her so much with all that shit, then he probably enjoyed, perhaps looked forward to sparring with her. He may have been comforted and maybe a bit less lonely that his team-especially Tenten-was with him. Or he could have hated them and been annoyed, but seeing as this is Naruto, we know that isn't true. Neji and Tenten know eachother, trust eachother, and genuinely like eachother. Like, not love! Well, maybe...not yet?

In pt. 2...
We see Neji and Tenten in shippuden. Neji is jounin but he has stuck with them because he knows he needs them. Tenten has stuck with them because even though they drive her crazy, someone has to take care of them. Lee and Gai are Lee and Gai so of course they stayed.

My prediction of Neji and Tenten being closer then most people thought was right. He helped her up, was in close proximity of her-but it did not bother her. Neji cared. Tenten cared. They both trusted eachother. Neji found the stability and cheer he needed in calm but lively Tenten. Tenten found the friend and person to roll her eyes with she didn't need but probably wanted. But seriously, she found sanity and sensibility in him. I think she needed a little bit of that. Does this make them canon. No. I don't think my ship Nejihina will be canon either, but that won't stop me from shipping it. But seriously, Nejiten is one of the more possible ships, IMO.

This is what I see when I look at them. Not love, not yet. But caring and a stable foundation for friendhip or love, all that good stuff :) Can it happen? Sure. Would it work out. Probably. Where it's appeal? You probably shouldn't ask me that...

WHY NEJITEN IS l33t:

Okay, here we go. So in the beginning, we have this: the bushy browed loser from whom the girls flee, the sexy but cold prodigy to whom the girls flock, and the plain-Jane brunette that the other girls ignore because she's more interested in sharp objects than hairdos. Very quickly, Lee and Gai form a bond that will never sever. It may be 0___o inducing, but it's a powerful relationship.

SHIPPUDEN TIME!!! If you're still in denial by now, not for long!! Team Gai's re-appearance is characterized by the usual youth nuttieness, complete with exasperated remark from Neji and Tenten trying to calm everyone down while at the same time in complete agreement with Neji.

Let's step back and look at the pairing as a whole now. If there were one word to describe NejiTen, it'd be CONSTANT. NejiTen is just that. They're always together, they're the good parts that fill in each other's flaws. I'm a total pairingwhore. I'm not kidding. I support Sakura with 6 GUYS!!! I like several pairings for most of the other girls. But who else does TENTEN go with?? There is no other person to complete her, k?? And NejiKiba (ew.), NejiNaru (I will admit, if Tenten died, Naruto [as much as I hate him] is the only other one he'd work with), and all those other yaoi pairings may be smex, but for once in my life, I'll say no to yaoi, because NejiTen is the only way to go. So NejiTen, while other pairings go in and out of my favour, will always be
CONSTANT.

Fantastic. I'll be sure to add it to the first page in just a moment. Must respond to your essay first. :D

First, I think that it's great that you were blunt and direct with a bunch of instances. Especially liked the bluntness of the characters you mentioned. I also really, really like the concept of your defining word for the couple. Constant. It has this nice ring to it. The duo is unwavering, steady, familiar...constant makes me swoon just as much because I see the two of them as being just that. It's not overly dramatic because there's a steady balance between them, and it's especially certain in that stance as well. The bonds on Team Gai are so strong, and I think a ton of people tend to neglect that and even downgrade the bond that Neji and Tenten have and how it's portrayed now. It really gets me thinking a lot on things. There's nothing wrong with too much of a good thing. Maybe it's the thing that kept Neji there. The team, each individual member had an impact on him and he's staying for them.

If I had to criticize anything, it would likely be some of the implications (cause some of the instances are a bit weak to be making such strong implications about the pairing). I won't say anything about canon vs anime-only scenes, mainly because I think all the products of Kishimoto's labor are worth acknowledging. No sense of ignoring it if something fun comes up. These things keep fandom going after all. Overall, lovely analysis. I'll add it to the front under the members reasons section. :D

I'm surprised to see an analysis from you. And there are a bunch of nice points you made here too. :D I like how you pick up on the idea of their companionship more then any romantic feelings. That's how I look at the pair most of the time. I love that companionship, and like you said, I believe that it's realistic for them to build on that. The elements are there, and it's up to them Kishi if they end up together, romantically. Haha, and yes I find it quite amusing that it's not just the anime team that picks out their partnership. It's picked out almost everywhere in terms of outside productions pertaining to Naruto And I love it all obviously. XD

I think one thing that you brought up was fun, and I've seen it brought up in another FC. The touching and the proximity. I'm sure there's a lot of this in terms of battling with any member of any team. But it's nice to see this specifically zoned in on by Kishimoto at times. It's those subtle things that matter I think. It maybe obvious and people may just overlook it ultimately, but I think that for the most part Kishimoto is a very blunt and direct writer. If he's hiding anything...it's usually for the plot line. When it comes to character interactions he makes things clear cut for the context of his story.

Like Nessie, I doubt a confession will be done for any side teams to be quite honest. What I think will likely happen is an epilogue type scene at the end of the series and we get a glimpse at the next generation or something along those lines. NejiTen babies, I wouldn't mind seeing those. :LOS

What I love about writing this fic is that I write it as seriously as any other story...but it's not to be taken seriously. AT ALL. Windows sure is crappy! :mad I, too, have suffered the same thing as you and finally I turn to Vegas and other application. How long is your NejiTen tribute? Sometimes, Windows's wasting so much memory on the disk thus, it cannot completed the save and the save simply failed. :notrust It happens. That's too bad, truly. For the time being, I, too, didn't know what caused this. But to put everything simply, just don't make a long AMV using Windows. Not too much transitions too! Windows' kinda waste the RAM usage.

:huh hmm... I don't know what to think of those. Well, I've never read that one myself, but I won't say an author is bad or not if I haven't read his/her way of writing. But... I must say, the author has misread the personalities of Neji and Tenten! (in my opinion...) Tenten's not that kind of girl that if jealous, she will murder than person. She's not that short-minded!!! She's a persistent girl and will always try her hardest to be better, and I don't think she will end it that way. it's just my opinion... She's not that... blind. I mean, not in that kind of sense! And Neji won't commit suicide whatsoever. He's just too cool and too genius for that stupid act. If ever, he will kill the one who kill those he loves. ;p Well,, that is depending on the circumstances also. ^^;; I don't know how the author write it... and I don't despise other pairings other than Nejiten... but I just hope that authors will pay attention to personalities more, not only stressing on plotline. It's better not to alter the personality for the sake of the plot line. It's true...

Agreed. And the only thing that can be more miserable than an author completely misunderstanding the characters is their fics gaining more popularity than proper, in-character works. Drama, death, and big feelings sell.

Not even just fanfiction, fanartists as well. it's sad because there is just so much talent that people won't bother to look at. Then you have authors who have completely terrible OOC problems getting 100+ reviews because they have their favorite popular pairings falling in love within a sentence of the story and making out halfway in between. Blah.

Ohhhh.....That fanart of Nejiten on the beach by 4sguilla is so sweet! I just sat and smiled at it like a dork for ages. :P I really like how he's leaning into her; it's such an intimate pose but it's not done as often as the ones where, you know, the guy's trapping the girl against a wall or pushing her to the ground or holding her bridal style. (Not that I'm complaining about those, mind you). It's just......subtler.

And I think subtle Nejiten is the best Nejiten. :) (Not that you'd realize that from the melodrama in my soap opera fics, but oh well.)

Those links on the first page aren't necessarily manifestos. Just some ramblings from me, and reasons from other members. I've been planning a manifesto, but haven't had much time to actually do it. I'm glad you kind of see why we like the pairing, but I'm also kind of interested in knowing why you're not fully convinced.

Well, at the moment my favorite NejiTen fic in all the world is Merkabah (http://berrygold.livejournal.com/363788.html) by Goldberry. It's just fantastic writing, and I think that Goldberry in general nails the pairing on the head when it comes to writing. She writes them very subtle, but that subtly honestly makes the writing all the more powerful. I loves it. :love

Those links on the first page aren't necessarily manifestos. Just some ramblings from me, and reasons from other members. I've been planning a manifesto, but haven't had much time to actually do it. I'm glad you kind of see why we like the pairing, but I'm also kind of interested in knowing why you're not fully convinced.
Yeah, I meant those reasons :P I watched the anime and started reading the chapters when I was caught up (That was around episode 100 or something, with the filler-dude, Ibiki's brother). So I started reading the manga at the rescue Sasuke arc. So I think I missed some things in the manga (like Tenten telling Neji Tsunade is back in town).
I don't know why I'm not fully convinced. May be it is because I just love LeeTen. That makes me biased.

Post-timeskip NejiTen I can understand and I like that, but pre-timeskip... no. But somehow NejiTen always has been popular, even before Shippuuden started and I guess that's where I'm stuck.
Pre-time skip Neji seemed cold to me. So I can't really picture him to be a person in love, or anything alike. So I guess I missed some things over there. What makes Tenten stand out for Neji? That's what I'm wondering.

The whole training together thing-argument, doesn't work for me. They're teammates so it only makes sense for them to train together. Tenten's offensive skills are perfect for Neji to train his Hyuuga techniques. And Tenten trying to break his defence is good for her. So it's a win/win for both! And because they train together and go on missions, Tenten was able to comment on Neji's attacks during his fight against Naruto.
But... I just can't see the love there... :oh

Well, at the moment my favorite NejiTen fic in all the world is Merkabah (http://berrygold.livejournal.com/363788.html) by Goldberry. It's just fantastic writing, and I think that Goldberry in general nails the pairing on the head when it comes to writing. She writes them very subtle, but that subtly honestly makes the writing all the more powerful. I loves it. :love

Well, there are two things I think you need to consider first.

1) Part I isn't about love.
2) Because Part I isn't about love, you need to take into consideration the team interactions and development together.

In terms of Team Gai, Part I was mostly about trying to get the team to work effectively together. They were pretty much a mess, and even Kishimoto stated this in one of the databooks that they really need to come together. This idea is effectively seen with their reappearance in Part II. Their unity is way different then it was before.

I honestly think that people shouldn't completely disregard the training aspect of the relationship. Obviously, it doesn't equal love, but at the same time it gives them time to spend together. They are ninja after all, a big central part of their characters is the fact that they train most of the time. Time and interaction allows them time to get along with one another and know each other slightly better. It's already a known fact that they aren't necessarily paired off for training. They train as a Team along with Gai and Lee. Again, being able to train together got them to the point that they were at in Part II. To me, that kind of interaction is significant. If together in a 4 man cell they can get to that point of togetherness, I think it should be important to note this interaction considering that Kishimoto has both shown they've had training sessions alone and have had moments in the manga to suggest that they have similar opinions and views on things. To me, this is all just build up. It's not specifically saying, "OMG THEY R 2GETHER 4EVA!" It's just making the base plausible if Kishimoto decides to go this route pairing wise.

Probably why people think Part I has pulled out more NejiTen fans is probably for silly things like how one can look at the pairing as being one sided from Tenten's POV. For example, Tenten wore lipstick for Neji's big match against Naruto and Tenten asking Neji to go see Tsunade with her. Both are silly little things, but they are there. It at least shows interest from one of them.

So I'm sure you're asking, well what about Neji? He doesn't seem interested at all. Neji is pretty blunt about how he feels about things. It's how his character is written. Part II, he keeps the same attitude around everyone, but his actions speak so much louder then his words do. I think he tends to get highly misunderstood by people, which then starts up misconceptions about his interactions with other characters.

It's subtle, and a progressive type of relationship. For me at least, that makes me like it a lot even in part I.

Hehe, I don't support nejiten but I would like to say:

Pt. 1 didn't have love as a theme.

Still, pt. 1 Neji was cold and arrogant because he didn't want to show his hurt feelings.....and in that way he is actually sensitive.

Tenten stands out for Neji for reasons I don't know. But she does, because he never ignores her, and trains with her, and shows genuine concern for her. And tells her his clan secrets. And let's her throw sharp objects at him. They're not madly in love but they're close, I guess. :noworry

I've only read two nejiten fics and from them and I think it's appeal is the stability or whatever. And how they just care. I don't know :laugh

As for the leeten thing, I'm a bit biased too. A bit...?

But I still try to understand because I hate bashing.

Well, I was about to say that every ninja who wouldn't fight wore a different attire. But Tenten trained with Neji before it started. :zaru But she wasn't on a mission, so may be she thought of wearing something casual. And I missed the thing about Tenten asking Neji to go see Tsunade with her. But then again Tenten stated before that she wanted be like Tsunade, and may be Kishimoto wanted to remind the reader about Tenten's earlier mention of the Sannin. She couldn't ask Lee, since he was hospitalized. But yeah, she could also go alone.

Well, personally, I don't really tend to use part I much in arguments cause I don't see it as romance. If other people see it as romance, then I guess it's their opinion. I can see the one-sided idea especially from Tenten's side. Other then that, I don't see anything except Team Gai love.

Even if Lee wasn't heavily injured, I don't think that he would have been the one chosen to aid Neji for the match up. The reason Neji initially chose Tenten to train with him was because their combating styles compliment each other. Tenten's technique was pretty much perfect for testing Neji's kaiten. I don't think he would have been able to perfect the 360* spin had it not been for Tenten's barrage of weapons that can hit him at any possible angel. It was just convenient, and Neji took advantage of that. It's probably why we don't see Gai being the one training with him or even with Neji and Tenten before the Neji vs Naruto fight. Neji couldn't have perfected his kaiten alone, and I'm sure he didn't get any help from another Hyuuga considering that Hiashi and no other member was aware he had learned a main branch move.

Yep. Kishimoto is very practical in this sense. He does use this scene mainly because he wants to show that Neji is ready and very capable of kicking Naruto's ass. The same thing could have been achieved with Gai being there instead. If it was just a warm up, I doubt Gai would really kick Neji's ass...especially prior to a match up. Gai's not stupid. If it was a scene with them, I think it may have been a bit more effective. Gai is a tough ass teacher. If Neji was fine after a quick warm up with Gai, I think Neji would come off being more intimidating.

Yeah, every ninja did come off casual, but while training with Neji, Tenten was wearing a bit of red on her lips. :wink It's such a small thing, but it comes off as Tenten put a bit more effort in making herself look nice for the match up. For some reason, Kishimoto has this obsession of placing Tenten and Neji in situations/panels together. Any scene can just be a number of things. For all we know, everything could just mean nothing between the two. However, since these scenes are there, I just can't ignore it. Heck, I'm sure if these things were there for other pairings, they'd pick these things apart too and use it for evidence themselves. It's all for fun. Nothing big to be honest. When it comes to pairings among Team Gai, it really just comes down to preference.

For me, NejiTen is not only about romance... Since the very first time, I won't say directly in a pairing debate, "WTH are you talking about?! They love each other!!!" thing... It's more like, the base of any relationship. For me, NejiTen is not about romance directly. I love them more in their partnership. :nod. I love NejiTen because of their harmony between each other, their interaction in Team Gai :nuts, and their partnership between each other. I love NejiTen being subtle, slow, beautiful rhyme. :huh er... that's how NejiTen is for me. LOL :sweatdrop

Agree!!!! I'm all to team love. And I think, somehow... being together and feeling comfortable with each other is more important that those fleeting so-called "love". Something that has been kept for a very long time will be a sturdy base for any relationship and it will last--no doubt. But I guess NejiTen will develop quite slowly, due to their over comfort and over training. LOL. But there is always those two "Green Beasts" that speed up everything. :nod

I don't think there was much dialogue change made to the two episodes. I need to rewatch the Japanese version to see. I'm waiting for some of the later episodes of the arc to see if there are any changes made. Especially the parts after they find Ranmaru and when Karashi tells the group that Tenten "fell off the cliff".

Haha, Tenten seems to do a lot of things for Neji. She feeds him, gives him water to drink. The scene isn't in the manga. This is part of the filler seasons for Naruto.

Guys, I have to apologize. Life has been extremely stressful. I've been extremely busy lately, and I'll be getting a real job soon, so things will only get more hectic for me. Guys, I have to apologize. Life has been extremely stressful. I've been extremely busy lately, and I'll be getting a real job soon, so things will only get more hectic for me. You guys move way too fast for me to keep up, so I think it's in my best interest to resign as club owner. It's been a lot of fun. Really, but I just don't think it's worth putting so much time and effort into this FC anymore.

I don't think that this was anywhere near as good as my lj trick, but haha, I always have fun with pranks.

This year I came up to a couple of my closest friends at 5th period and gave them convincing reasons with good acting if I say so myself, and told them I no longer wanted to be friends with them. They actually bought it.

Then right before school ended I said April fools and ran away.

They weren't huge changes but there were definately hints in there.
