Land of Grass Update!

I was wondering if in the past 4 months that I have been away from the site, if any new information has been revealed into the Land of Grass and its ninja. Just hoping something good might have been released smile-big

I am just trying to get an idea of their usual kind of jutsu and their clothing style. So if they could introduce some actual Grass ninja into the gosh darn story I might be able to make my fanfic character. smile-big

Granted all of the Leaf ninja have very different styles of dress, but the Rain and Mist ninja have similar styles. I thought the Grass ninja wore the white robes with purple cords/bows at first due to the Chunnin exams, but it seems it is nothing more then Orochimaru's own fashion sense.

Another useful bit of info would be the terrain in the Land of Grass. I think everyone says it is like a Jungle, but I always pictured it more like lots of rolling hills and plains cover in tall, tall grass. Yet once again I think I am describing the Land of Rice, which is Orochimaru's Sound Village.

You guys didnt help any :( And I only watch the Cartoon Network Naruto, and thus far nothing pertaining to the Land of Grass has been shown other then the Chunnin Exams and they had their faces stolen. Anyone able to help me at all?

Sorry, I was talking about the Japanese version. Basically, it appears to be a moderate climate, with grass and trees and stuff. Kind of like the Fire country, only with less trees and more grass.

I think it really was the original clothing of the Grass nin, Orochimaru wouldn't want to blow his cover by dressing different.

Here's about everything I know concerning the Grass Country. Hope it helps. ^^


With the capital of Kusa, where the feudal lord makes his home, the Grass Country has one of the most varied landscapes out of all the shinobi countries. Made up of mountains, rivers, grasslands, forests, bamboo thickets, the Grass shares borders with the Earth, Fire, Rain, and Water countries.

In the earlier Shinobi wars, the Earth country pushed past these borders, invading the Grass. Out of a desire to prevent future conflict near their own country, the Fire shinobi came to the aid of the Grass. This is depicted in the manga-only section of the story, titled the "Kakashi Gaiden".

Present day Grass politics finds them allied with Leaf, Rain, Sand, and Waterfall during the first chuunin exam. However, this may have changed, due to the housing of Otogakure by the Grass daiymo. But, we haven't been given any clear understanding of whether this has happened as of yet, or if the alliance is still holding strong.

The only time we've been given a look at how the Grass shinobi dress is in the shinobi whom Orochimaru killed and impersonated. Also, in the anime only, we are given a look at a representation of a Grass country feudal lord.

Lastly, As Denji said, one of Pein's bodies is from the Grass. And, a variety of sources claim that Zetsu is from the Grass country, but I haven't found the manga panels to support that supposition. If anyone has them, then I'd appreciate the help.

The reason I was confused by the clothing is that the box that the Sound 4 put Sasuke in had that ribbon on it, along with all of the prisoners Orochimaru had in his base in the Sound Village, so I wasnt sure if that was really his fashion. It almost seems like the purple ribbon is his clothing mark.
