It's been rumored that a Kekkaishi may have been responsible for creating the place and Yoshimori's true powers seem to be a total mystery (especially that dark sphere), so will he eventually reach his goal?

What I meant was whether the anime will finish before the manga. Some people have the anime finishing soon while the manga is still ongoing.

I don't believe the anime is ending anytime soon, but I'm just going by the apparent rumors.

Let's see. I believe the anime will take a break after the current arc and continue later. So Yoshimori will not be able to seal it now, he is still not fulfilling his true potential yet. Maybe the next season.

I have a bad feeling the anime will tack on some bullshit ending where he seals it up before the manga finishes, but completely ruin the story by doing so :oh

I just don't see that happening for Yoshi. It's too big of a goal and we still don't know that much about it. He'd disturb the natural order of things by doing it so my vote is he doesn't completely seal it but maybe lessens it's effect on ayakashi, at best.

Theory and spoiler from latest manga chapter:

I think he'll eventually change his goal of sealing it once he finds out the truth of it all. After chapter 119, I got this wild idea that the original kekkaishi might be underneath the school in a state of suspended animation of sorts. When Masamori saw Yoshi use a technique other than kekkai or zekkai, and his heartbeat had apparently stopped, I thought perhaps it might have been possible for the technique to continue indefinitely if the user where in that state and unreachable by anyone. Maybe guarding something that shouldn't be released into the world, but even he wasn't strong enough to get rid of it permanently. If a timeskip were to happen, I could see him taking the original kekkaishi's place at the end of the anime/manga because the barrier is weakening or something along those lines. Hmm, I guess that is kinda sealing it in a way though, oh well. Self sacrifice ftw.

I'm sure I'll change my delusional mind after this arc ends though. :huh
