This week, there were a couple commercials for Naruto 3 for DS, and it looks like it's gonna be pretty fun. There aren't too many details, but two things we'll be using the DS's unique capabilities to

a) Mold chakra (It looks like you swirl the stylus around a Konoha symbol).

b) Form seals (you have to touch the correct ones...time to learn some kanji!)

c) Use Sasuke's jutsu (blow into the mic for some Katon action!)

There's also a multiplayer battle mode, not sure if you can do the game download thing or if everyone needs a cart.

It looks like it's gonna be really fun! I'll be there bright and early when it comes out to get my free kunai stylus!!!

Ok, played it for a bit, got a FAQ skeleton made, here's how things are so far:

you pick one characer to play as in each stage, and two other characters for support. you can call them in to do attacks, but after they do, you have to wait for their chakra to refill before you can call 'em again.

There's a mode available from the start where you can draw on the hokage monument!!!!! Make Naruto proud!

You might be referring to Jump Superstars...which has characters like goku, luffy, naruto, etc...

hmm... have to interchange between the normal controls and the stylus? May have been a bad move. All the other games either use one or the other, not both... They better give you time to pull your stylus out of it's holder before each special move, or else it would be quite difficult.

I like the ways the stylus is being used, however.

Don't have a DS, and not really planning on getting one, but this looks pretty interesting. Graphics looks WAYY too similar to GBA's Naruto 2, however.... Is this all the DS is capable of? Hell no.

This one is just an added bonus for the DS owners, but it's totally usable on anything that requires a stylus... (stylus not included, but they arn't that expensive!)

I've had the game since last Friday. I'd post vids and stuff, but I don't have a server to upload to. The game is fun though. You can unlock three extra support characters as you go through the game. The only thing that's lacking is replayablility. I beat the game yesterday, and although I can go through the game again with my extra support characters available, it doesn't seem as exciting. It was great the first time through though, the specials are fun, and the touch screen usage is pretty good. Also, the 'graffiti mode' is fun, too, cause you can actually change the color of your lines, unlike pictochat.

For example, Volvoice plankton repeat in their own voice what you sing to them. Rec-recs help you to make rap (*giggle*) solos and beats. There are a total of 10 different planktons to choose from. Oh, and the creator of the game was the same dude who made SimTunes.

I haven't found anymore yet. My game showed up today, but the post office refused to drop it off without anyone home. So, now I have to wait until 3:30(30 min.) until I can pick it up. I'll say what I think of it after I get it.

Got my game. It is pretty fun. The music is good. The controls are good, just a bit odd having attack as Y and jump as A. The kunai is pretty nice.

I'm testing to see how sending a video off my phone works. If the quality is good, i'll try to make a video of the gameplay. Going to be a tad tough recording a video with my phone while trying to play. I could at least show off the special moves for the charactors.

You may have adressed this, but i'm kinda tired so i can't read through the other pages. Do you need to know kanji to buy this game. In other words, if i buy this game without knowing japanese, is there any hope of getting through the game. I really wanna buy it but i dont know any of the language. I made it through some other naruto games without knowing anything, but i heard this one was a bit different.

So far, I haven't seen anything challenging to someone who does not know Japanese, but I have heard that for some charactor's their ninjutsu requires to select their move name out of a group of words. If I find anymore information, i'll share.

Then there's a few different things that happen after this:
Some have special touch input to do their supers (i.e. Neji: touch pressure points or Sasuke: blow into the mic for Fire).
The most basic and common one is to look at the japanese character on the top of the screen and match it to the "wheel" at the bottom. Press the right character (or characters, in the correct order). Let me know if you have any other gameplay questions, I've beat the game already. Sorry I dropped the ball on getting videos and pics, I've been busy.

Thanks I was wondering how to use the main characters specials. I've been using the support characters instead. Blowing into the mic for sasuke's move and seeing fire come out was awesome :laugh

Am I the only person who's having problem doing the main character's special. I mean I've managed to pull it off once, but most of the time, my stylus has problems when I try to rotate the flames. It's as if the DS doesn't even notice the stylus. :oh

Maybe I'm crazy :xp

Update: I'm stuck on level 3, the one with the fish and stuff, where do I have to go???

I'll have to try and remember, that's the one with the waterfall, right? I vaguely remember just traveling up, going left, going up and right, and then continuing. If that's the level you're talking about. Sometimes, I find it easier to do the main char's special by using my finger rather than the stylus (sometimes, only, maybe I'm just weird). One thing that might help is to make sure you're tracing the circle exactly on the invisible line, I think if you go off of it, it doesn't register as well.

Thanks for the info...I already took care of that level, but the stylus thing is a bit easier to handle now, just took abit more practice.

Ziko, sorry again about not being able to get videos of the game. If you enjoy Naruto, I think you'll enjoy this game. The touch capability adds a lot to the enjoyment of the game. I can't really compare it to the first two, since I didn't play too much of them, but I can't say too much for the replay value, since I haven't really played the game since I beat it last week. I enjoyed it all the way up to the end, I just don't feel like playing it over and over, but that might just be me.

@Ziko: This is the first naruto game that I'm playing for a portable system, so I can't tell you about previous games. But I think you'll enjoy it...And I too believe that the touch screen does a add a different element to the game. ^__^

Can someone help me? I can't beat the final boss, he keeps healing himself. and how do u do naruto's sexy no jutsu?

The Final boss is annoying. I don't think you want to do sexy no jutsu (its the level one super). Keep trying to do Rasengen, and it helps if you have Kakashi and Gai as your assists. Other than that, hit and run.

from what i was able to understand from GameFAQs, the final boss is Orochimaru.

anywho, i just bought this game yesterday and this is the first Naruto game i've ever played, and i must say, i'm a total noob at this. i can't even beat the first level. for one, just when i think i got the controls down, i screw up because the Jump and Attack buttons are totally opposite of each other. the layout is is like this.

Attack // Throw Weapon (if you have one)
Run // Jump

so i keep hittin run when i wanna attack or i hit run when i wanna jump, it pisses me off.

if anyone has any game play tips, please help me out.
and i can probably get a video later today since people are still asking for one.
