Chapter 2
Together they walked out of the door and into the sunlight, which blinded Hinata a littleAnd made her put a hand before her eyes, but when they walked for awhile. She got used to the sun on her face and was able to focus on Kiba’s face. She wondered how he was doing Not able to see him for 3 years. Was really not something she liked to think back to, She remembered the days clearly. It was a day just like this, when he told her about joining the ANBU. It was just after her father gave her more responsibility’s in being the hear to the Hyuga, which made it impossible to do a lot of missions anymore.

He told her the news while drinking tea together, while sitting inside the sun. enjoying the Warmth of the day. The news shocked her really badly, but seeing the confident in his eyes She knew he was really serious about it.

Before he left he had kissed her forehead, telling her he was going to miss her greatly, but It was something he had to do. She told him she understood his descion and wished him good luck. He had walked out of the restaurant, with a wave. Saying he was going to see her soon he hoped.

Thinking back, was it really 3 years ago, that they had last seen each other. To her it felt just like yesterday.

Kiba, walked right next to her, a smile adored his face. Feeling really happy to be back in the company of his former team-mate, but seeing her so lost in thoughts, he wondered what her thoughts were about, and decided to ask her.

‘’Hinata-sama, you seem so lost in thoughts, is there something wrong, you can tell me anything remember’’ He gave her a quick wink and chuckled softly.
‘’Kiba-kun, no its nothing, I am just happy to see you again. That’s all. And I was kind of wondering if you could tell me a little about your ANBU training ?’’

He placed his right hand on her shoulder, and smiled gently.
‘’Of course, I will tell you all about, but its kind of a long story. When shall I start?’’

‘’Why don’t you start at the beginning, see how far you can go’’
‘’All right that sounds like a plan. Ok, When I think back at my training, the start was really harsh, nothing can describe how hard it was. Not even Kurenai’s training, comes even close.
Remember how much trouble we had with her genjutsu, well it was the hardest training, I ever experienced in my whole life. Luckily Akamaru was able to stay at my side, the whole time, together we made it through the harsh training.

Every night, when we were able to rest, my whole body, hurt all over, and standing up again was very difficult. But when I felt like I could no longer hold on, it was Akamaru who pushed me through. By barking and telling me not to give up. Seriously my dog really helped me through. But you know how he can be’’
Here he chuckled and gave his dog a understanding look
After a few months, I was starting to get used to the training, so me and a few others I was not familiar with, were chosen to do some missions. It was nothing we couldn’t handle. We had to fight our sensei, and defeat him In twenty minutes, me and Akamaru got him beat, in ten minutes time, but we were both heavily bleeding at the end of the fight.
After the training It got even worse, we were forced to go on assinate missions.

Before I knew it, a year had passed, In the next year me and a few others were send to kill a old enemy of Konoha. A villain, who seemed to be a threat to the village, in the past. The man was living inside a old creek house at the end of the forest. We were warned of him being very dangerous, no one was able to catch him in all the years he used to be a threat.
In the very end it was Akamaru who got him trapped, in the corner. And there we discovered the man’s weakness, his fear for dogs, was what got him trapped in the end.

Keeling on his knees the man begged for the dog to disappear. In that very moment I needed to do something, I had never done in my eternal live. I needed to give Akamaru the commando to kill. My fellow team-mates all looked at me waiting for me to give it I looked at my dog and it pained me to tell him to kill the man. But there was no other option, so I told him to bite his throat. Akamaru gave me one sad look before he followed my command.
I looked away when he did it. But my team-mates cheered the dog, given him pets on his shoulder, telling him he did well.

Hinata listened closely, not wanting to interfere, but they were almost back at the house. Softly she touched his arm, which made him stop talking.

‘’Uhm Kiba-kun, I think you need to stop now. And continue it later. I really enjoyed listening to it, I really do. But Neji-nii-san is probably wondering why we aren’t back yet’’

‘’Ohh, sure that’s ok. Hinata-sama, lets go back than’’ He called Akamaru, and together, they walked back inside. Noticing the stares they were receiving from both Neji and her younger sister Hanabi.

‘’Welcome back, Hinata-sama’’ Neji said. I have waited for your return, because I need to tell you something important’’ Hinata turned her head towards him and waited for him to continue. I have a mission today. What will take me a couple of weeks to complete. I am very sorry, but I cant be here when Hiashi is away on his travels. I tried to get the Hokage to listen to me, by telling her I cant leaf you alone. When Hiashi-sama is not around to protect you.But she told me, with an ANBU as your guard, you should be perfectly save.
So that means Inuzuka-san is going to be your only protector for the upcoming weeks.

Feeling shocked by Neji’s news Hinata was for a moment speechless. But quickly got her self under control again and nodded softly. ‘’Neji-nii-san if that’s what the hokage told you, I think it should be allright. I am pretty save with Kiba-kun around. You know me and Kiba-kun are old team-mates. Everything will be ok, trust me, Right Kiba-kun?’’ She gave him a questioned look awaiting his answer.

‘’Yeah, of course, I promise to protect her with my life, you can count on me’’

Neji sighed a little and gave a soft nod. ‘’all right you got me convinced Hinata-samaI will take my leaf now. Take good care of your selves Hinata-sama Hanabi-sama
With that he made a few quick hand signs and disappeared with a poof.

When Neji left the whole room grew silent, until Akamaru started to bark softly. Breaking the silence. Which made Kiba look at Hinata asking her what she wanting to do next.

‘’So uhm what do you want to do now?’’ I bet its going to very awkward with Neji gone and all’’ she gave a soft sigh and looked a little sad. ‘’ I really don’t know, Kiba-kun Neji-nii-san’s mission came so sudden, I was not thinking he would leaf me alone When Father left, but I gues I was wrong. But I don’t think things really changed We got you now, as our guard, what more can I wish for’’ She smiled gently and he smiled back nodding his head.

‘’What about some tea?’’ Hanabi-chan can you make us some, please?’’
The girl stood up from the sofa, and walked towards the kitchen. Leaving Hinata and Kiba alone together. ‘’Hinata are you all right, you look a little pale’’
A soft blush appeared on her cheeks, when Kiba looked at her with such a concerned expression on his face.

‘’No its fine. I am ok, nothing to worry about Kiba-kun, I trust you to take care of me, now that both father and Neji-nii-san are away. Its you that needs to protect me’’ for a moment, both shinobi stared into each others eyes, not able to look away, until Hanabi decided to come back, at that exact same moment.

Placing the cups on the table, the girl giggles softly. After seeing both her elder sister and Inuzuka-san blushing at the same time. Almost not able to make a remark about her sister blushing. She ignored her thoughts and was able to say that the tea was ready.

‘’Hinata-nee-chan the tea is ready’’ She took a seat next to her sister and started to sip it slowly. Hinata still a bit dazed, by what just happened, only was able to give a nod. Taking her cup, she also starts to sip it. Staying silent the whole time.

Kiba responded whole different and gently accepts the tea. ‘’Thank you, Hanabi-sama
He says and drinks it in a slow pace.

Hinata sat there just staring at her cup, not sure what to say next. Thinking about what just happened. Why did he also blush. She decided to forget about it, it was probably for the best. She glanced over at Kiba, and saw him looking at the window. A confused look upon his face.

Then Hanabi stood up suddenly saying something about needed to attempt a mission together with her team. Hinata and Kiba wished her luck. After the girl had left, suddenly Hinata noticed she was all alone together with Kiba. But it didn’t seem to bother him at all She noticed when she glanced at him again. He just chuckled saying something about being just the two them.

‘’Kind of ironic don’t you think, as if they all wanted us to be alone together’’ Kiba said and kept on laughing. ‘’Yes Kiba-kun, but I don’t mind, if its you than everything is fine’’ Smiling gently the girl looked away again, a little shy suddenly.

Kiba was not sure how to respond to that so he just gave her a strong hug, and thanked her.Which made the two of them laugh at the same time.

‘’So uhm what do you do on a day like these, when you are all alone?’’ Kiba asks, while given attention to his dog, touching him behind the ears, making Akamaru closes his eyes.

‘’Well I usually go train, when I have no clan duties, to attend to, but it seems there is nothing for me to do, now that father left, together with almost the whole clan. But I have not slept well so training is not a option today’’

Kiba nodded. ‘’Why don’t we go outside for awhile. Enjoying the nice weather some moreStaying inside the house all day. Is only going to make us moody’’
‘’Yes that’s a good idea, Kiba-kun’’

‘’Allow me to lead you outside than, My lady’’ Kiba joked , and gently took her arm in his and led her outside. And inside the warmth of the sun.

‘’But uhm Kiba-kun before we go, can we first get my blanket, we need it when we go outside’’ ‘’Sure, tell me where I can find it, and I will get it for you’’ Its right there’’ She pointed at the chair standing not to far away from where they were standing. He picked it up quickly. ‘’Ok. we got your blanket, are we all ready now then?’’ The girl nodded her head a little. They walked outside, and while Hinata placed the blanket on the grass, Kiba played some with his dog. Both laughing heartily.

They sat there for a pretty long time, both not saying one word. Kiba knew not to speak when Hinata was like this, when her eyes were closed and her whole body was relaxed.Yes he really enjoyed moments like this. It brought back memories of them sitting together underneath there favourite tree, inside team eights training grounds.

After about one hour, Kiba decided to start a conversation with his shy former team-mate, he knew soo well. ‘’Heey, Hinata I got a great idea, why don’t I take you out to dinner tonight,Catching up on things. I am sure you have lots to tell me. In the three years we spend apart’’ Hinata’s eyes lightened up at the idea, and a smile formed on her face, soon enough.

‘’Yes that’s a great idea. Its been soo long, since we did things like this together with the team,I really missed those times, don’t you ?’’ Yea I miss it as well. That’s why I decided to ask you, knowing you would really love it’’

‘’Yes that’s very sweet of you, kiba-kun, it will be a great night. And maybe you will meet some old faces. Who knows’’ She smiled brightly already thinking what to wear.

When Hanabi came back from her mission, the girl told Hinata and Kiba that she was not going to eat at home tonight. And was gone in flash again, saying something about team meeting. Hinata shook her head a little. While Kiba chuckled loudly, saying something about teenagers.

At that moment while Hinata was busy making some tea, inside the kitchen Kiba decided to tease her a little, he was in the mood for some teasing and Hinata was his first and only target.

Slowly coming closer, the boy surprised her by placing both his hands in front of her eyes.
‘’Gues who?’’ he said and laughed loudly. Hinata giggles. ‘’Kiba-kun aren’t you a little bit to old for games like these’’ Awww come on Hinata-chan, I know you still like it’’ shaking her head, she tried to continue her work, ignoring his cry’s for attention. But knowing Kiba she was probably not going to get much work done like this.

Kiba was not one to give up easily,And when he was not getting the attention he wanted, he decided to punish her, tickling her softly in the sides. Which got her to laugh really hard. ‘’Kiba-kun, please stop it. The girl yelled loudly. Kiba did what she ask, and gave her a amused look. ’You know what, I really missed your cheerful laugh. It always makes me happy hearing it’’

The girl smiled warmly, and nods her head happily. ‘’I know, Kiba-kun I also missed moments like this. When I am with you. I feel like I can be myself, and don’t need to hold back at all. I missed you soo much’’

‘’Of course you missed me, you cant live without me. He chuckled a little, after Hinata had given him a gentle pet on his head.

That night Hinata decided to surprise Kiba, by wearing her newest dress, it had the colour of dark blue. And had a long flowing skirt, the neckline was in a plunging v line. While the front of the dress was very open. Hinata really loved the dress. It made her look sexy. Was what her sister told her, after seeing her inside the dress.

Hinata had really changed in the years, after getting more duties as clan heiress, the girl gathered more confidence and turned into a more open person. The shy girl that once was almost had all disappeared. Her Crush over Naruto long forgotten.Yes she was sure to surprise Kiba wearing this dress.

The reason I asked what you guys felt about AU's is that I'm actually planning one [Which will take a LONG time... I want it too be good ;_;]. It's all in my english notebook... I get bored =/ It's actually different... so far I've been writing the plot outline for the past two days. I'm hoping to settle down with a storyline and get to work on it as soon as possible.

So, KibaHina FC, what would you like to see in a KibaHina fanfic? Like, something different... original. It's hard to find and think of new ideas X.x; My brain is melting from all the thoughts I jotted down.

Okay, maybe I'm being too picky. But it's a turnoff when I see fanfics where Kiba goes emo because Hinata likes Naruto. If anything I think he's still cheerful, just confused. I agree with you. It just doesn't seem like being very sensitive about Hinata liking Naruto is the very "Kiba" thing to do. Perhaps it's been done many times before, but I'd like to read a fic where Hinata is the one sorting out her emotions only to find out that it's Kiba who has her heart... =p Like... maybe Kiba won't even realize his own strong feelings for her until after they're both matured adults and have been in at least one other relationship. I don't know... I'm just spouting ideas here. Lol... I can't even will myself to finish that fic I attempted to write... I'll let you all do the storytelling with words.

You could check out stands on Queensday for clothes! That's how I got a skirt which I could use for my cosplay.
Last year I brought Death Note vol 1~4, Sesshoumaru action figure and pochi (the chocolate sticks) from Abunai.
But most of the time I pick up my manga from Archonia or at the 'boekenfestijn'. Manga for only 2 euro per volume, 5 for the price of 4. :LOS

I love this picture so so much. It makes me go "awww" and feeling a bit sad at the same time. In this pic, Hinata is holding Kiba's injured arm, while Kiba's making a concerned face like that is something they shouldn't be doing... I think the story behind it could be that Hinata has become a Hyuuga clan's head(seeing from her fancy way of dressing) while Kiba is just a normal jounin shinobi who works under her. And there's like this line that they couldn't cross even though they used to be so close when they were teammates.

Kiba, whose arm was wouded from protecting the Hyuuga leader, in a voice as soft as a whisper, he says, "It's just a minor injury. Hinata-sama, please let go." Hinata, as if didn't hear what was said, keeps holding his arm dearly. "Kiba-kun, please don't get yourself hurt. You're precious to me."

What i like the most about this picture is the way Kiba touches her hair in such a gentle way. Happy she came to visit him. while being stuck inside the hospital
We all know Kiba can be very calm and gentle when he is together with Hinata smile-big I think this picture really shows Kiba's gentle side :amuse

Well, I've really been drawn to this fanart. I even have it as one of my many wallpapers for my cellphone :nuts

It's just... OMG, the sexual tension is so thick. You can tell he's lusting for her and she's blushing, entranced by his look, and that makes it better. But it's not just sexual, it's so cute too... I mean look at how he holds her hand and stares deeply into her eyes. I love all of Mugen Black's works. It's amazing :faint

After reading the first four volumes which i bought a few weeks ago i am totally hooked on the series. and i am reading it online now, because no more then four volumes have been released yet such a shame i want more to collect :laugh

What to say of Zero he is one hot vampire Hell yeah :nuts And i really think he has a thing for Yuuki :nods

Yuuki is a girl with a temper :nods caring deeply for the people she loves
The idea she offers her own blood for Zero to feet one is such a example

Vampire Knight? I was sort of into it a year and a half ago, when my best friend had me balls-deep in shojo, though I found it sort of boring (But I adored Backstage Prince and Zettai Kareshi I still love them.)

Ah, there are actually quite a few songs by Kiba's seiyuu that I know of. I spent days figuring out how to get this wonderful rock song by him onto my iPod, called "Utsuro na Yume" (or was is Utsura na Yume? I don't remember, my files were wiped a year ago.) There's a live performance on Youtube, last time I checked. Also, he sings a few soft-rock songs for PoT and some other anime OSTs, and there's also an interesting tango song by him.
haha I also love Kiba's American VA, Kyle Hebert, he has a bamf podcast.

And i never really watched the dubbed naruto i dont even know what kiba shino hinata and even sasuke's voices sound like in english because when i first started to watch Naruto it was the subbed ones i watched and still do :amuse

Mizuki Nana and Toriumi Kousuke are two of my fave japanse voice actors
i would never switch to the dubbed ones ever :laugh

I watch the dub a lot, because it is how I 1st started watching Naruto, and hey I love it :amuse The voices to me match perfectly! The editing for the dub is not that, bad, cept for when they made Lee use the Loopy Fist instead of the Drunken Fist...was kinda pissed about that, but I got over it, because I could not stop laughing everytime someone said Loop Fist, my best friend, Cali, we tease me by saying it, because she knew I would not stop laughing xD

Chapter 3

Hinata’s dress followed behind her, as she made her way to Kiba. She knew this dinner would be special. She was spending it with her old teammate, and even though they were not suppose to get any closer then someone hired to protect her, she was still looking forward to it. As she could tell Kiba was somewhat not playing by the rules as it was, after all he was the one that was saying how, he missed her laugh, how he made her happy, it was play flirting from what she could see. But, she didn’t mind, after all her father and Neji were gone, and all that was left was Hanabi, but she had missions on and off, which left the two of them alone, but hey it was nice to see him after so long again. She gave a slight smile and giggle as she looked at Kiba, who in return gave a smile and it seemed as though he was looking the dress she was in. Giving a shocked look Kiba spoke, “Hinata-sama! I was not expecting you to dress so formally, I mean this dinner was meant to catch up on things. I’m not even dress properly, as if I would want to anyway.” He chuckled, “But, you look nice. Let’s go.” He quickly grabbed her hand and headed out the front door. With Akamaru close behind. Though once they got there Akamaru was going to have to stay outside of course.
One there way there, the wind was starting to blow, Hinatas hair was getting her face, so she had to hold it back with her hand. She looked up at Kiba who was close beside her, still holding her hand, making sure he was doing his job as her “protector”

Upon making there way to the restaurant, Kiba walked Hinata into the building and helped her sit down as they made their orders for their food, in which Hinata got a simple salad, she didn’t want to make Kiba pay for more then he had to, she sort of felt bad about it already. The Inuzuka blinked, “That all you want?” The Hyuuga nodded, “Yes, I’m fine with just that.” Kiba chuckled, “You know I don’t mind paying more if you want something else.” Hinata gasped and looked at him, “No really, Kiba-kun it’s fine. I am good with what I ordered.” Kiba gave her a smile, “Come, a woman like you needs to eat more then just a salad.” Hinata gave a slight blush, what was he meaning by what he just said to her, she then looked at him, giving a big smile, fiddling her fingers in a old habit, it was not that she was nervous, just about to say something, “What about two salads then?” She gave a big smile, and Kiba laughed, “If that is all you want…” He sat back in his chair and made sure he ordered a nice big steak, he needed something that he could dig his teeth into.

As they waited for their food to arrive, Kiba sat back in his chair, with his arms around the back of it, giving a smile he looked at Hinata, “So, like we planned I got you caught up on what I did for the last few years, now it’s your turn, I want to now how these last few years have been for you. I mean it seems you have changed from the shy and semi-talentness kounchi I once knew.” He gave a laugh, he was not trying to sound mean with what he said, and Hinata realized that and gave a chuckle back.

Putting her hand up to her chest and giving a deep breath, the Hyuuga girl looked at her teammate once more, it was such a long time and this dinner seemed like it was going great, once they had their food it would be perfect. Looking at her teammate, to her it seemed like not much has changed, but he was a ANBU now, a more realiable ninja, and she knew he would do anything to protect her. Giving a sigh of relief knowing he was there, she smiled, “Well, Kiba-kun, this is what I have been doing for the past few years…” Hinata smiled sweetly up at kiba and begin telling him about how she spend the last 3 years.

She told him how her father finally realized his daughter was fit to become the heir to the Hyuuga clan, after seeining her training so fiercly with her sister and Neji. After a long and serious conversation everything had to be made clear and Hinata had to learn the basics to becoming a heir. Hiashi made sure his daughter was getting one of the best tutors to help her study, but it also ment she had no longer time to go on missions. Hiashi told the fitth about the situation and at that moment it so happend that Kurenai was also there. Tsuande agreed with the hyuga clan leader after a long conversation. In those last few months she still practiced a lot, but only at nights all of the day she spend in studying. the lessons gave her more confidence in herself Kurenai was really happy that her father finally accepted his daughter into his heart and came to visit her precious student in the times she was free. They surely better times then when she was a simple genin and her father seemed to not even really care what happened to her.

As she was telling her former teammate about everything she spoke clearly and not timidly which was hard for Kiba to understand, she really had grown up and become a wonderful kounchi, Kiba was gald for her, for as long as he could remember that’s what he really wanted to happen to her. She went on to mention that her and her father started to grow closer and closer as the months went by and he was starting to really believe in her more. She was certainly not ready to lead the clan, but she was pretty dang close to it.

“Wow, Hinata-sama that is really awesome, I’m really shocked, I am.” He titled his back on his chair and laughed. It was just so unbelievable that it was believable, Hinata surely had grown. Smiling at Kiba, Hinata saw their dinner coming and it was sat down between the two of them. Grabbing there eating utensils, they began to eat conversing about their memories in there squad, and the times where things were so carefree. Kiba and Hinata both laughed at the people they used to be.

About 15 mintues had gone by and they were about finishing up their meals, as Kiba paid for everything and helped Hinata out of her chair, as her “protector” and smiled. She gave a slight smile and normal blush and was escorted out by Kiba.

Meanqwhile, Hanabi was returning from her mission when she went into the Hyuuga household to get some stuff for a picnic she was going to with her team. She had to grab the fruit from the back when she heard people talking, she thought maybe her sister and her guard where back, she quickly ran over, “Sis-…” She tailed off seeing people she didn’t recognize in her house, they were wearing only black, and she could need see them clearly, they spoke so softly that she had no clue what they where going to do, she quickly backed up taking a deep breath and gulp and went to run off, hopefully finding her sister, before they got back.

Hinata wanted to spend more time alone with Kiba, she wanted it to be like the old days as a team when they were all together, “Umm…Kiba-kun…’ She uttered, “How about we take a longer way home?” Kiba gave her a look, “Well, as your protecter and stuff is that such a-what the hell? Come on!” He then took her and walked the opposite way back home.

Hanabi was searching farcically for her older sister, she knew it was important to make sure that she was safe, hopefully her bodyguard was doing his job. She then run around more looking and hoping to find her sister.

Reminiscing about old times Kiba and Hinata passed a lot of places that they had gone to as a team. Laughing about all the good times, he felt good. It had been awhile that Kiba had had a good laugh. But, there walk was coming to an end they would have to get back and start acting as nothing more then a ANBU looking after the heir to the Hyuuga clan. Sighing Kiba went to walk Hinata into the house, when he smelled something, and Akamaru had given a slight growl, “You smell it to buddy?” He backed up and kept in front of Hinata, he was not going to let anyone hurt her. He took out a kunai and ready himself for an attack. Hinata was giving a worried look, “Kib-.” She was cut off by Kiba covering her mouth, “Shhh…someones here and I do not like the smell of it…” He then heard movement, and quickly jumped back and getting Hinata somewhere safely. He couldn’t just leave the place, but he couldn’t keep Hinata there in danger. He had a plan, but he was gonna have to wait for it, right now it was best to get his former teammate to safety, “Come on Hinata-sama.” He grabbed her and jumped off with Akamaru following. Hinata held her hand close to her chest, she was scared, but she knew that Kiba had to know what he was doing and she would have faith in him. Like she always had.

Hinata, being the lady that she was, got a light, simple salad; also, it helped that she didn’t want to make Kiba pay for more then he had to, she sort of felt bad about it already.

The Inuzuka blinked, “That all you want?”

She nodded, feeling slightly embarrassed that it was indeed such little food.

“Yes, I’m fine with just that.”

Kiba chuckled noting the embarrassed blush marking her normally pale skin.

“You know, I don’t mind paying more if you want something else.”
Hinata gasped and looked at him as if she had been caught doing something wrong.

“No really, Kiba-kun it’s fine. I am good with what I ordered.”

Kiba gave her a smile. “Come on, a woman like you needs to eat more than just a salad.”

Hinata’s blush got a bit deeper. What did he mean by what he just said to her? Maybe he actually thought of her as a woman? Or was he calling her fat? She couldn’t really be sure.

So, she then looked at him, giving a big smile. She wasn’t really nervous; she was just about to say something, but she nevertheless fiddled with her fingers anyway. It seemed to be an old habit of hers.

“What about two salads then?” Her smiled widened, and Kiba laughed.

“If that’s all you want…” He sat back in his chair and made sure to talk about how he couldn’t wait to sink his teeth into the wholesome, juicy steak. Akamaru, seated on the floor beside his master, barked, agreeing that the meal would be very filling.

As they waited for their food to arrive, Kiba weapped his arms around the back of the chair, giving a smile he looked at Hinata.

“So, like we planned, I got you caught up on what I did for the last few years, now it’s your turn. I want to now how these last few years have been for you. I mean, it seems like you’ve changed from the shy and self-conscious kounouchi that I shared a team with.” He gave a laugh, trying to lighten the mood and not sound too mean with what he said. Hinata realized that and gave a chuckle back.

Sighing and taking a deep breath, the Hyuuga girl looked at her teammate once more. It had been such a long time and this dinner seemed like it was going great. Just looking at the Inuzuka, she didn’t think that much had changed…

Alas, he was an ANBU now, therefore being a much more reliable ninja. She didn’t feel strange in his company, and she knew that he would protect her at any cost. She didn’t expect any less from her former teammate.
“Well, Kiba-kun, this is what I have been doing for the past few years…” Hinata gave a sweet smile at Kiba and began telling him about the last 3 years.

She told him how her father finally realized his daughter was fit to become the heir to the Hyuuga clan after seeing her training. Her fierce battles with her sister and Neji seemed to have impressed Hiashi.

Therefore, after a long and serious conversation, everything had to be made clear and Hinata had to learn the basics to becoming a clan leader. Hiashi made sure his daughter was getting one of the best tutors to help her study the history and politics of the Hyuuga clan, but her new duties meant she no longer had time to go on missions. Hiashi told the Fifth Hokage about the situation and discussed Hinata’s new role with her sensei, Yuuhi Kurenai. Tsunade, although not happy at first, eventually gave in to the Hyuuga clan leader.

In those last few months before she officially left Team 8, she practiced a lot, but only at nights. She spent all day studying. The lessons gave her more confidence in herself, reassuring her that the Hyuuga clan was one of great power and nobility and that leading it would just advance her abilities more.
Kurenai, also unhappy about how her team was “breaking up” (Kiba had been recruited to the ANBU around the same time), was still happy that her Hiashi had finally accepted his daughter into his heart; she came to visit her precious former-student in the times she was free. They were surely better times than when she was a simple genin and her father seemed to consider her heiress worthy.

As she was telling her former teammate about everything, she spoke clearly and not timidly, but this was a little hard for Kiba to understand. She really had grown up and become a mre confident girl, even it she didn’t show it all the time.

Kiba was glad for her, for that was what he had wanted to happen to her ever since he realized the girl’s confidence complex.

She went on to mention that she and her father started to grow closer and closer as the months went by. Her lavender eyes seemed to light up as she said Hiashi was starting to believe in her more. She was certainly not ready to lead the clan, but she was getting close, as her father had told her.

“Wow, Hinata-sama..that’s really awesome! I’m…shocked.” He tiled his back on his chair and laughed. It was just so unbelievable that this was all real. Hinata surely had grown, and she had finally gotten the acceptance she had so dearly yearned for when she was younger.

“Thank you, Kiba-kun.”

Hinata saw their dinner coming and it was laid down between the two of them.

Grabbing there eating utensils, they began to eat conversing about their memories in there squad, and the times when things were so carefree. They’d give anything to go back to the days when all their missions were tracking down kittens and fixing fences for old ladies. Life was much more simple then, though the pay wasn’t so good, they both agreed. Kiba and Hinata both laughed at the people they used to be.

A little while passed, and they were finishing up their meals. Kiba paid for the meal and helped Hinata out of her chair, fulfilling his duties as her “protector”, and smiled. She gave a slight smile and trademark blush and was escorted out by the man.

Meanwhile, Hanabi was returning from her mission. She walked up the ornate path that lead to the estate’s gates.

However, when she approached the entrance into the main Hyuuga household where she resided with her father, sister and Neji, she felt a strange chakra emanating from within the estate’s walls.

Eons ago, the elders of the Hyuuga clan had placed barriers around the perimeter of the house. The barriers weren’t necessarily to keep intruders out, however, they alerted the occupants of the house if there was a non-Hyuuga person approaching the residence.

Hanabi’s eyes lowered. This chakra…it clearly wasn’t her sister, nor her bodyguard. It definitely wasn’t any sort of Hyuuga chakra. It was subtle, barely noticeable, but it was strong enough for her to activate her Byakugan.

Surely enough, she was able to locate the strangers deep within the Hyuuga clan library. There seemed to be around 4-5 of them, each one dressed in dark-colored robes. Their backs were all facing her, though she didn’t care much for looking at their faces. They were most likely searching ancient scrolls for any sort of the clan’s secret.

The veins around Hanabi’s eyes bulged more as she scanned the rest of the estate, remaining in her spot at the gates. No, her sister wasn’t there.

And luckily, the perpetrators hadn’t gone into the adjoining Hyuuga houses where the elders of the clan lived. The elders would be gone, anyway, with Hiashi, but it was up to Hinata and Hanabi to maintain the safety of the entire family, and that included protecting the estate.

Perhaps the cloaked intruders were waiting for one of the Hyuuga’s to arrive? It was very rare for them to not leave some sort of lookout around the perimeter of the estate, though.

She tried to recognize their chakra. It glowed an eerie type of blood red color. However, she realized that she didn’t have time to identify the intruders. Finding Hinata was the top priority at the moment. She knew she couldn’t fight them on her own.

She quickly backed up, taking one last look as she jumped away, hopefully finding her sister before they got any further back.

Hinata wanted to spend more time alone with Kiba; she wanted it to be like the old days as a team when they were all together.

“Umm…Kiba-kun,” She mumbled, cheeks red like a tomato. “How about we take a longer way home?”

Kiba gave her a look, “Well, as your protector and stuff is that such a—aww, what the hell? Come on!” He then took her and walked the opposite way back home.

Hanabi was searching farcically for her older sister. She knew it was important to make sure that she was safe. Inuzuka was hopefully doing his job. She had scanned the major streets of the village, and there seemed to be no sign of them.

She jumped from one rooftop to another, panicking as she thought why her sister was nowhere to be found.

Reminiscing about old times, Kiba and Hinata passed a lot of places (mostly training grounds) that they had gone to as a team.

Kiba felt good. It had been awhile since he was able to relax; being an ANBU was so much more stressful than he had ever imagined. But, their walk was coming to an end and they would have to get back soon. They would then have to return to being the ANBU protector and vulnerable Hyuuga heiress…or at least, that’s how they’d have to act when Neji got home.

Kiba sighed as they approached the estate. He was too lost in memories to notice that Hinata’s eyes had widened, detecting something different.

Akamaru gave a low growl, causing Kiba to stop and smell the air. Somebody who was clearly not Hanabi nor Neji was inside the main house.

Hinata’s Byakugan searched the premises. They were at a slight vantage point: a slight hill overlooking the Hyuuga grounds at a small angle. The people were dispersed in different wings of the main house, a couple near the bedrooms, one in the parlor, one in the library and one near the back of the main house near the kitchen. The elders’ families were, thankfully, not in their homes.

Hanabi wasn’t in the house, either, so Hinata settled down somewhat.

However, this wasn’t exactly a situation she could walk away from.

Kiba sniffed the air some more, making sure that he was indeed locating the presence of people within the estate. Akamaru growled again, placing one paw in front of the other, readying himself to attack.

“You smell it too, buddy?” He backed up and moved in front of Hinata; he was not going to let anyone hurt her.

However, the girl stepped past him and came beside him, never letting her eyes break the stare she had on the house. He looked at her, surprised, and when he saw her eyes focused and straining as she scanned the house, he realized she had discovered the abnormality. He should’ve known this would happen. Of course she would sense something wrong in her own house, especially with those all-seeing eyes of hers.

Nevertheless, he took out a kunai and readied himself for an attack. Hinata, still looking at the house, started to speak.

“Kib-”

She was cut off by Kiba covering her mouth.

“Shhh…You know someone’s here, and they’re most likely after you…” He then heard movement and quickly jumped back, getting Hinata somewhere safely away from the house.

He couldn’t just leave the place, but he couldn’t keep Hinata there in danger. He had a plan, but he was gonna have to wait for it; right now, it was best to get his former teammate to safety.

“Come on, Hinata-sama.” He grabbed her and jumped off with Akamaru following. Hinata held her hand close to her chest.

She was scared, but at least she knew Hanabi was safe. She wanted to stay and protect the rest of the house. However, she knew that Kiba had to know what he was doing and she would have faith in him, like she always had.

Feel free to change anything back to the way you want it. I'll have my chapter done soon, I promise!!!
