Some time ago, I and a few others came to the somewhat shocking realization that Aoba is, in fact, the cause of every single bad thing in Naruto. Ever. Every last one. In fact, virtually every last problem in the entire universe is Aoba's fault. Remarkable, isn't it?

After realizing this, I initially hated Aoba with a fiery passion. However, recently, I have begun to rethink my ways, and have started to see Aoba in a new light. I realize now that he's actually a much deeper character than we've all been led to think, and in spite of (or maybe even because of) his low IQ, gross lack of discretion, and dorky, lopsided hitai-ate, Aoba is actually really effing cool. In fact, he's now my all-time favorite Naruto character except for Sasuke, Naruto, Kakashi, Sakura, Manda, Kankurou, and Shikamaru. ...And also, Neji and Lee. ...And Gai. And Kabuto.

...Okay, so Aoba's not really my favorite. But he's still up there. And I think it's high time he got a little recognition. :cool(direct linking allowed):

Anyway, I had this crazy theory the other day that Aoba was really the leader of the Akatsuki. Because the HAIR... the hair looks like him, I'm telling you!!

See? Ah, but then I remembered that whoever the leader was, he had extremely bizarre-looking eyes that looked kind of like Sharingan only not.

So I was disappointed. But then I recalled that Aoba is, of course, always wearing sunglasses--we all thought it was because he wanted to look stylish, but obviously it's really because he wants to hide his true identity as the creepy leader of the Akatsuki! So I was vindicated in my theory, which made me happy.

...Then I remembered that there was (I think) one scene where Aoba's glasses slipped down and we saw his eyes, and they weren't Sharingan-ish, or even Kurenai-ish for that matter. So I thought, damn!

But then I remembered that that scene (if it does indeed exist outside of my head) was probably in the anime only, so for all we know it was a filler that they screwed up, much like they screwed up the Mangekyou Sharingan.

And not to mention there's all of that hinting going on, what with Aoba constantly plotting evil deeds and whatnot. Really, I don't think they could have made it more obvious if they tried. So it makes sense, too.

So, I stand firmly behind this theory. Aoba is the leader of the Akatsuki. Yet another reason why he's awesome.

There's already a Random Ninjas Fanclub, I believe. However, this fanclub is different (no really, it is!), as it is devoted entirely to Yamashiro Aoba, a.k.a. that "OMG!!1 Itachi is back!!!" guy.

About a month or so ago, I along with a few others came to the somewhat shocking realization that Aoba is, in fact, the cause of every single bad thing in Naruto. Ever. Every last one. In fact, virtually every last problem in the entire universe is Aoba's fault. Remarkable, isn't it?

After realizing this, I initially hated Aoba with a fiery passion. However, recently, I have begun to rethink my ways, and have started to see Aoba in a new light. I realize now that he's actually a much deeper character than we've all been led to think, and in spite of (or maybe even because of) his low IQ, gross lack of discretion, and dorky, lopsided hitai-ate, Aoba is actually really effing cool. In fact, he's now my all-time favorite Naruto character except for Sasuke, Naruto, Kakashi, Manda, Kankurou, and Shikamaru. ...And also, Neji and Lee. ...And Gai. And Kabuto.

...Okay, so Aoba's not really my favorite. But he's still up there. And I think it's high time he got a little recognition.

I only briefly skimned the threads, but I believe we've missed a couple Aoba appearances!

Shortly after Kabuto does his feather genjutsu at the stadium we catch a glimpse of Aoba,
in all his l33t glory, dispelling the genjutsu. Then after the fight we see him leaning
on the railing with all the other cool Kohona nins.

This brings our total number of Aoba appearances to seven!!!

1. Aoba is one of the nins with Kotetsu and is it Iwashi? when they find the dead Grass Nins that Orochimaru killed

2. Aoba is the man with a plan when he runs into the hospital room wher Kakashi is staying and yells (with Sasuke sitting in front of him) 'Is it true that Itachi is back!?'

3. Aoba dispels the feather genjutsu at the stadium

4. Aoba uses a technique! He uses the Katon Goukblahblahblah no jutsu in Konoha Stadium, dishing out righteous justice to two sound nins

5. Aoba leans on the railing with the other Kohona nins after the stadium fight

6. You can see him at Sandaime's funeral, next to Genma

7. Homura summons Aoba and Genma (secret buddies? hm) to tell people about the Hokage ceremony

See, we all thought that Aoba was the cause of all the terrible things that have been happening involving Sasuke going nuts and running off to Orochimaru, because he alerted him to Itachi's presence.

BUT! Remember the situation at the hotel. Kisame was just about to chop off a leg of Naruto's, when Sasuke showed up, diverting the attention of both Itachi and Kisame momentarily. Had Sasuke not shown up thanks to Aoba's yelling, Then Naruto would be legless, and also Itachi wouldn't have used his Mangekyo again against Sasuke, so he wouldn't have weakened himself.

So, without Sasuke's presence, Itachi and Kisame would've taken Naruto and run off BEFORE Jiraiya showed up. Conclusion: AOBA SAVED THE WORLD!
