How do you think, what for do we live on this planet? Just to work and to earn good salary? Or to study forever? To find our ture love?

Post your ideas here.

I will do what any worthy warrior poet does.

I'll attack the false ideals of the merchants of deception whenever I see them.

I will work to live, not live to work - to unite people towards positive goals. To encourage myself and others to forgo the trappings of the culture of failure - to live a clean, positive, goal oriented life. To defend the rights of the weak, including the non humans. To strive to stamp out violence and intolerance whenever it rears its ugly head. To help to solve the problems of humanity so we can explore space together - forever.

I will succeed.

Nothing fancy for me. I just want to meet a nice girl, get married, have kids and grandkids, grow old and die.

To Pilaf
I've also thought about it, but there are a lot of people who don't even think about such things... How then can the minority of people like you or me can resist them?

You mean to live a quite life?

Just to be able to live out my life the way I chose too, not being too influenced by others. I am me and that is the person I will die with within me, no matter where my life goes as long as I am happy living it my way. ^.^

:amuse I'm of the same opinion...

I think it's the choice, that ev'ryone needs to make.

The point of life.... Have kids to carry your dna on and on and on.... other then that theres no point but to survive as long as you can and have as many children as possible.

Culturally? Success. The aim is to make money, get a 'good job', marry, have kids (one boy, one girl), retire early, and get your children into college.

Biologically, it would be reproduction, or the continued existence of your genetic material. Which is nicely reflected in the "establish a family" aim a lot of people seem to have.

Other than that, there's no objective purpose to human existence.

... Um... to die? Actually, I'm pretty goalless right now... I have no direction at this point...
...
However, I want to become a teacher- someone who has a chance to make an indirect impact on the future by mentoring others...
It is my hope that I will, someday, get a little place not too far from the sea- I wouldn't want to actually live by the sea... that's too expensive and I expect it's bad for the ecosystem, what with all the people wanting to live in such places already... and have a little yard with a swing and two cats... lol...

It would be nice, I expect, to find someone who can tolerate me, but I don't want kids... I don't have the patience nor the pain tolerance nor the thousands of other things that would be nice to have when raising children... my nephew wears me out as it is.

Oh, but I want to teach... I want to be in a position where I help people formulate their opinions and develop their intellect, where I can change things.

I'm with Pilaf- once I move out, I'm going vegetarian. I'm getting sick of eating dead beasties- but I'd change 'space' to 'our own planet.' There is so much we don't know about our own home, particularly about the ocean, and we're destroying it without even knowing about what we've lost- what we've thrown away.

That was beautiful. Except for the vegetarian clause. I'll defend an animals rights up until the point of their right not to get eaten. Then I'll take the day off and go eat an animal.

So can I be a warrior poet with you?

Warrior poetry is for suckers. Hedonism FTW.

Well the aim of my life is to achieve hapiness and freedom as a person, But not as the usual way: having kids, and that stuff.
I want to be happy just being myself, and try to make the world understand that being different is not bad, I want that all the persons can be themselves without fear of being rejected...I also want that the people around me can be happy, that's why Im always helping the persons I love, I look out for the hapiness of others, and sometimes I have forgot about helping myself and that's why Im suffering, and that's why I search for freedom.
Freedom in a way that let me be myself, and in a way that can stop my suffering.
That's the main aim of my life, search for my freedom and the hapiness of the persons I love

... It is hard to find true fulfillment when others around you suffer...

Our aime in lives differ. It all depends on what you want to accomplish. If you want to become President of the United States and one day became that person, then good for you, you have accomplished your aim in life. If you wanted to be an accountant and one day became one, you have accomplished your aim (I prefer to say goal) in life.

Our goal in (at least) our Earthly lives? I would say that the aim would be to help others find theirs, or become theirs. Improvement, as earlier posters have implied, comes only when others also become better alongside you.

Sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, and more sex. Looking at it in the strictest sense of the question of this thread the point of life to procreate and ensure the survival of the human species. Its always been and forever be the simplest way to describe what life is.

I believe in God. The one depicted in the Bible that is even though I can hardly call myself a Christian. Anyway, without their being a higher power, I honestly don't see a purpose for mankind. We're swept into existence by some unknown event, slowly evolving throughout time to bring our status at the top of the sentient species. Then what? Is that where the buck stops? I dunno, but I hope there is a Maker we all gotta face one day unless hope itself is a fallcy(sp?) among all other things...

I agree with your mind about being different. For example, people around me always say i'm very strange. But i think it's better to say i'm different. I know, it's very hard to be different, i go through it ev'ry day, but it makes me feel free.

Our job here on Earth is to worship our Lord God and Jesus Christ. It says that in the Bible. He put us on here to worship him and to let others know about him so none of us have to burn and suffer eternity in Hell.

I learned that when God destroys the earth and the ones with Jesus in our hearts go to Heaven and we come back down to the new earth, we will be able to see everyone who is in Hell in a part of the earth. I don't know where it will be, but we can see everyone and see what happens to people when they don't believe in God.

Well a lot of people would just say "reproduction" but it's nice to think we're here for something more and being happy > being right. For me, anyway.

I suppose the aim of my life is to be free but able to influence others lives in a positive way, even though I'm hardly the perfect person.

It's something I feel I do often enough, just not on a big enough scale for me to be satisfied yet.

That goes for all of us. No one is perfect.

Of course. It sometimes seem to me that we all are to improve ourselves as personalities...

Oh... :sweatdrop I haven't thought about this in ages.

I suppose scientifically our goals in lives should be procreation; to ensure the existence of our species. But that's a moot point with overpopulation and all the issues that go with it.

I suppose my individual existence is simply defined by trying to be happy, and trying to make other people happy. :S (That sounds rather cheesy and lame, but it's true.)

That is very true. Many people act and try to be perfect, but they mostly just tear themselves down. I sometimes try to be perfect, doesn't really work out.
