First I ordered the Gaara DX figure from Hobbylink Japan around Feb 17, but they email me a couple weeks later saying that they have discontinued the item and that my order was a bit late to get their last. So I thought they have cancelled my order after all this time. But then, TODAY I got an email saying that my item was shipped to me. *sniff* I wonder did they take pity on me cause before that, I went to check on the status of the item every few days and when I saw it list as "Discontinued" (before it was "Backordered") so I emailed them asking about that, plus I include 2 of the "sad (:() smily" faces too, cause around that time Gaara DX was all sold out everywhere and I was really hoping I would get it but it turned out nope. SO, now it seem like I'm gonna get 2 Gaara DX figures (even though the status in HLJ was still shown as discontinued. I wonder did they go hunt down this figure for me cause in Japan I know for sure that they're still some around. And that company is in Japan...), I've already recieve my Gaara DX from the second site I order from last week.

I don't want to have the trouble of going through cancelling process when an item is shipped cause it's a pain to you, the customer, and the company. I don't really mind paying another $21 dollar + shipping for the figures (because the one I got is only $25 too).

It seem like first I was really desparate for one and now I'm getting two. A little ironic DYT. ;_________; *ponders choice: Cry or Happy?*

:nuts I love KH2!! I especially love Roxas of all the characters and Axel. I love their pairing too. :P :laugh I think KH2 is better than KH but it's very easy to beat the game. I haven't finished yet, too busy and im out of time for electronics today....get 1 hour and a half a day. I am at the part after the large fight at Hollow Bastion (which was awesome!!!) where you go thru the worlds again.....except Lion King world because i forgot to beat haloween town....And i dont even want to go to atlantis....i hated it in the last game, so annoying :mad

I don't like atlantis too. It's hard fight when you have to use both analog stick to move around. Never get used to using both for control before. And beside that fact, I have to obtain a new magic spell when some "mission" comes up there. :/ And I never get to Lion King before I beat the game but, that's what I'm trying to do now. :D

Now, I'm not an expert or anything, but I believe that many Buddhist myths and characters came from Hinduistic believes, or at least they were influenced by them. What I'm trying to say is that, probably, Kishimoto kept in mind both the uses of the third kanji in Gaara's name when he created it.
One of the reason that support this theory is the origin of his mother's name: Karura (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karura).
Finally, we should remember that Buddhism didn't born in Japan, but in India.

Now, I'm not an expert or anything, but I believe that many Buddhist myths and characters came from Hinduistic believes, or at least they were influenced by them. What I'm trying to say is that, probably, Kishimoto kept in mind both the uses of the third kanji in Gaara's name when he created it.
One of the reason that support this theory is the origin of his mother's name: Karura.
Finally, we should remember that Buddhism didn't born in Japan, but in India.

Printscreen button will not work on capturing frame from a video or any video media. If you use something like the VLC player you can use their snapshot command from the menu. I also heard that window media can screencap frame too although I haven't try it yet. Anyhow, you try looking through the Gaara gallery @ animegalleries.com?

People didn't used to wear clothes like that in India did they o_O
Anyway, as far as I'm concerned, Naruto characters' names are pretty random:
Uzumaki Naruto : Naruto=The name of a famous whirlpool in Japan; Uzumaki = whirlpool.
Hatake Kakashi : Hatake=Field; Kakashi=scarecrow
The fact that most names are written in katakana instead of kanji, makes them all the more random. And that's also why I like Gaara's name, because it's written in Chinese characters, and being Chinese, it actually means something to me ^^

Anyway, as far as I'm concerned, Naruto characters' names are pretty random:
Uzumaki Naruto : Naruto=The name of a famous whirlpool in Japan; Uzumaki = whirlpool.
Hatake Kakashi : Hatake=Field; Kakashi=scarecrow
The fact that most names are written in katakana instead of kanji, makes them all the more random. And that's also why I like Gaara's name, because it's written in Chinese characters, and being Chinese, it actually means something to me ^^

It's very hard, but you'll learn a lot from it!

I'm transferring school so I can study media art and animation too. :] So far I'm accepted by that school but still have lots of things I need to get to the school before I am <officially> accepted. *bummer* Anyway, I'm just glad that they didn't put Gaara on any of the fillers. The fillers and the crappy storyline would surely kill him (make him look pathetic) y'know. :oh

I'm actually thinking of taking the CG Creator course at Yoyogi animation School and since being a full time student enables you to take a second course at no extra cost I'm thinking an evening manga or animation course.

I did once, I was under the impression that they had some GaaNaru books (that's what they said in the catalogue) and when i got to the front of the line, there was no Gaara. I asked the person where's GaaNaru, she looked embarrased and said that one of the books had a little bit of GaaNaru. I bought it (1700 yen - the most expensive doujin i've ever bought), found out Gaara was on about 5 pages and he has eyebrows in the book:notrust , sold it on Yahoo!Auction.

Hahaha! When I saw the cover I was actually hoping for the biggest Gaaracrack-doujin I've ever seen. But actually, I'm really curious about everything doujin out of Japan, so if you can find the time, I will be very happy if you can scan it.
You should try to create a Gaara-doujin! Even if you only make small sketches or write a little story, than you can always work on a more detailed page later on. I think that if you have an idea/story written down, it's much easier to start to work out a more detailed page. ^^

Here in Holland there's also no work for animators, and abroad you can only find work when you have a masterdegree (I'm studying for a bachelordegree). Most animators work freelance in Europe, so they do earn more than Japanese animators (and if I'm correct a lot of animation (i.e. long lasting anime's) is being done in Korea and Indonesia), as they can set their own prices.
I really don't know how things are settled with admittance to schools in Japan, I had to do two exams (assignment from school, and showing a portfolio) to get admitted to the first year. But as far as it is now the entire study is one big letdown for me. As I have the feeling I'm studying film and cinema more than I'm doing actual animation. And a friend of mine, she studies in Bournemouth, she gets 21 hours of animation a week, and I just 4. They've got their priorities a little bit wrong at my school I think ^^"

Hahaha! I actually giggled a little bit about this story. I just picture you desperately seeking for Gaara and when you find a Gaara, you find one with eyebrows! :P
But I do believe the people from that SasukeXGaara doujin I've posted a while ago (Sasshi, if I'm correct) also drew a Gaara with eyebrows.
I've heared one of their doujin artists Sumomo (I only know one of her names, it's either the frontname of lastname) started working for Studio Ghibli in the animationteam. A friend of mine also told me that her doujins are insanely expensive (2200 Yen and up), speaking of expensive doujins!

But he mestaked his Sabaku Kyuu for a Sabaku Sousou, silly Gaara! And that Thunder God of Sand-jutsu-thing with the sandsticks conducting electricity was kinda questionable! If he could do that he just could zap Deidara out of the sky when he fought him in the manga, instead of going all difficult with the huge claws and stuff.

I seriously liked the movie! Entertaining plot, and that Ramujin was pretty cool. But one guy just made the entire movie for me:

I saw the second Naruto moviie today. Too bad the plot was worse than the second one, imho. And the design of the enemies was awful. But with my 3 favourite characters in the same movie (Naruto, Gaara and Shikmaru) + Kankurou I didn't really mind the actual plot, and I went into fangirl mode! But there is a scene I hated: when Naruto see Sasuke in his dream... it's so out of place, and so fan service-ess! :notrust

Hi 5 to you too. Hehe, I'm back and I have just watched Naruto Movie 2. It was so sad to see that there's so little Gaara in it. It make me wanna see Naruto Part 2 now. Kazekage Gaara will be so awesome since he's already so awesome here. I wouldn't watch this movie if it hadn't been for Gaara. The movie plot wasn't that promising. :cry

I like the part where Naruto was clinging to Kankuro. That part was hillarious and I must say, Kankuro appeared more than Gaara in this movie. Haha, I like Kankuro new addition to his Kuroari. The slicing was good and Gaara was smart enough to put sand stick to divert the person's electric or whatever he was doing. Haha, he's so awesome and smart, he deserved to be Kazekage.

Something that made me wonder and that came to my mind after some people here posted "I want to see Kazekage Gaara in the anime!" is the fact, that there is a (fake?) picture of Kazekage!Gaara from the anime floating around O_o And I've seen it in the narutoforums somewhere in a signature and I've wondered, if the person had done it or if he/she had found it somewhere...I wonder...

I believe Helen was the one posting them, as wallpapers from the shonen-jump mobile site, or something like that ^^". But the images seem to correspond exactly with panels from the manga, that makes me wonder if they are really screenshots from the upcoming anime or just nifty coloured mangapanels ^^
