Interesting. I read some H.P. Lovecraft back in Literature class.

Its possible that it could have inspired it, but I somehow doubt it. You never know.

I don't think so personally, but they're similar enough to warrant a rhetoric question about it as a pretext to plug lovecraft's works in a thread and see what happens.
