Dose anyone have any idea what I should do? It says to reninstall it but the download gave me a bunch of folders with ISO files and stuff. I don't know what any of that means.

Try putting this into your main folder for the game: http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/download.php?d3dx9_25download0ULgOBYIdV

If not, try updating your direct x or video drivers maybe? =D Hope this information helps, =]

Thank you very much.
That file you gave me got rid of the error message. The screen will now flash black for a split-second when I click the game icon but nothing happens after that. It looks like I'm one step closer atleast. I also downloaded Direct X.

Just a few questions, I've had a bunch of similar problems as well...
Does the music still play on the black screen?
Does it close by itself or does it pop up a error message?
Here's the d3dx9_25.dll I'm using:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=GYPOUW1W
Here are some links to Daybreak\Kai updates also:

Sorry, I can't help. :cry
The blackscreens I always got was due to my K-LITE codec and those caused a popup to appear.
Edit:
You're Daybreak folder looks kinda empty though, mine also has:
msvcp71.dll
msvcr71.dll
ogg.dll
vorbis.dll
vorbisfile.dll
Edit #2:
Are those all the files in you're daybreak directory? It doesn't look like the original Daybreak is installed... Daybreak Kai is the expansion and needs the original installed to work.
Edit #3:
This is what my Daybreak folder looks like. (Please forgive my background)

Maybe you didn't download the whole thing? Or install from both ISOs?

Sorry, I think I see the problem now... I got ahead of myself and didn't read your first post all the way though... :sweatdrop

1) Download Daemon Tools if you haven't already.
http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/download.php?mode=ViewCategory&catid=5
2) Now install it if you haven't already.
3) After that there should be an icon on your right windows bar by the System Clock.
----
4) Select Virtual CD\DVD and Mount the ISO Daybreak.iso.
5) Install to a folder of your choice.
6) Select Virtual CD\DVD and Mount the ISO Daybreakdx.iso.
7) Install to the same folder.
8) Update Daybreak.
9) Update DaybreakDX
10) Play ^^

Right now I'm having trouble with these steps. When the Virtual CD/DVD program mounts the ISOs and stuff, it loads them but times out because the program stops responding.

Did you reboot?
I'm not sure, but the SCSI controller might not activate until after a reboot.

Maybe you can try installing .Net Framework, but I don't think that'll fix this... Sorry, I'm out of ideas. :(

Looking at your screenshot again it looks like you managed to install it somehow without Daemon Tools, do you have another CD Image mounting program? If you do, you should continue to use that one if Daemon Tools doesn't work.

I had Daemon Tools before you gave me the link. I think I tried to use it on some other Japanese game a year ago.

So you installed the one I linked you to and it broke the program...? :sweatdrop :cry
What kind of error are you getting when it times out? Does it just give up? Also what happens if you select the drive it's mounting to after it gives up?
I'm so sorry! :cry

Its just stops. The program freezes and I can't even close out without ctrl+alt+del.
I think its just my computer. It got really far once. I'll just keep trying and it might work eventualy.

I heard that there's was similar problem with ICH8R/ICH9R Raid cards...
After looking it up, there's no solution but to rollback to 4.08 or earlier versions of the program. But the symptoms described are almost identical to what you described.
I'll go look for a copy of a pre 4.10 version...
Edit#1
For now here's a fix for Daemon Tools to work with Intel RAID, it might work for you (I don't really understand what this is though...):
http://disc-tools.com/download/sptdbeta
Edit#2
Another thing you might try is to check to see the version you downloaded works with your OS. All the information is available on the download page.
Edit#3
This site has all the previous versions of Daemon Tools. It's on the upper right hand corner of the screen.

Sorry for all the trouble I'm putting you though...

Great, glad to see that you got it to work. :)
I think we went through almost every possible thing that could go wrong too. :laugh
-- For people who like to search for cheats using a memory address editor these are the primary stats to point you in the right direction...
Main: (Your number of main attacks)
Charge: (Your number of charge attacks)
Health: (This starts at 10000 for all characters)
Super Bars -
Oyashiro: (Starts at 0 and maxes out at 850*)
Friendship: (Starts at 0 and maxes out at 850*)
Kakera: (Starts at 0 and maxes out at 850*)
When value searching for your Super Bar the value sometimes comes up as 55705600 (Integer 4-byte search) though when it's maxed out instead of 850...
Because the values change after every few battles you have to re-search for one of the values ('Main' is easiest) and [Auto-Offset Apply] to realign your codes. Unless you have an easy way of fixing the values in place don't try to search for other character's data since they switch around as well.
...or you could just play as L5 Rena who's totally broken and not need any cheat codes...

Cool.
I gotta figure out the menu. If there are any sites that can point me in the right direction, please, let me know. Once I get that and figure out the controls (I'm gonna get a game pad/controller from my other computer tomarrow and see if it works) I'll be all set.
EDIT: I found a good site. http://ikusat.mac.org/higu/index.php/Main_Page

I just tried my controller out with Daybreak. It works and the only problem I ran into was finding a button combination that allowed me to hold down the 'Charge' button while fighting.
You might want to try keeping a translation of the keyconfig around if you can't read Japanese though incase you want to change it back.
