Well as much as I am saddened by the fact we couldn't have epic Shaun v. Dawn final, IT COMES DOWN TO THESE VERY DESERVING CONTESTANTS!

Dawn of the Dead.
Maybe it's just because this is the first horror movie I remember seeing, or maybe it's because I have a zombie fetish, but to this day I'm still enthralled out by George Romero's masterpiece.

Out of these two, Shining wins easily.
Scariest movie of all time? Stephen Kings "IT", hands down.
btw, your options throughout the votes have been kind of weak. Shaun of the dead, is a comedy, and Silence of the Lambs, is more of a suspense movie. So many movies are scarier then your options o.O

I'm watching the Shining right now for the first time completely through it just happened to be on TV.
It's very good, but dawn of the dead scared me more, Zombies tend to have that effect on me.

As much as I love a good zombie movie, Kubrick beats Romero. I'm a huge fan of both though.

I don'tget scared when I watch Zombie movies. They're cool to look at, but they don't make my skin crawl. The Shining on the other hand. :iik

wow, dawn of the dead is a really bad movie, if any of romero's works would have been up i figured itd be night of the living dead, because it was the only one that didn't suck
shining wins hands down between these too (even though i wouldnt say its the best horror of all time - i still like the original halloween/thing/it)

So with 15 minutes left, I doubt Dawn will suddenly pull out a surprise 15 votes, I will call this Shining's victory.
As such, Gene (http://forums.narutofan.com/member.php?u=36061), being the winner will get a congratulatory rep + trophy for having nominated the winning movie.

I'll go for the remake of Dawn of the Dead. I love the 'holed up in a mall, with zombies outside' theme. That's why i got Dead Rising :P
