Neji could beat 5 GATED LEE (no 6 Gated Lee) Sakura woukl end the life of CS2 Sasuke and KN1 with Tenten and Sai. Shikamaru could defeat Chouji.

I know people are leaning toward the postTS team but looking at the states that the preTS team are in, you've gotta admit that it's a lot of power to overcome. Just say for arguments sake it went like this in terms of internal matchups:

Red pill Chouji vs Sakura
5 Gate Lee vs Tenten

I'd have to give it to the preTS team just because of the sheer power involved.

I'm only going by what's been seen and used by the characters so far as stipulated in the OP. The postTS team probably could win as of now but imo not with what we've seen as of yet, the preTS team in those states are monsters battle wise.

The Part I team has some powerful pieces, and the main weakness of their team cannot be exploited by these Part II shinobi (that weakness being genjutsu). Chōji will be a nightmare if he consumes the red sanshoku no ganyaku, but he can be suppressed by Shikamaru and Neji if need be — the two can defeat him fairly comfortably so long as they do so quickly.

Neji and Sai are the 'powerhouses' of the Part II team: Neji is a conventional powerhouse, as he can barely be touched by anyone on the other team. Chōji will not be a serious threat until the red sanshoku no ganyaku, and Lee will lose swiftly even with the Fifth Hachimon if he comes close to Neji. Sasuke and Naruto will fare about as well as Lee, and without the suna no tate Gaara is doomed against a jūken user.

Sai is the more unusual powerhouse, and that's probably the wrong word. He won't be 'tanking', but he'll be forcing the opposition's attention by being a pest who they can't pin down easily. Sai strikes me as a long-range skirmisher, and he can fight from the air where the others can't touch him. His jutsu can capture many of his foes, leading up to their swift demise. I see him pulling a lot of attention and being an untouchable pain.

Sakura's pretty strong, and she forms a solid core with Neji: the first enemy to come in fairly close to her and consider Neji the more major threat will die to her, and that's one of five down. Shikamaru is fragile if he can't be defended, although he's good at dodging — with the Byakugan, Neji should be able ot defend him, though.

Part II team should be doing something like this: Sai and Tenten skirmish, Neji and Sakura form a base, Shikamaru is defended by the base and catches foes so that they can be taken down by Tenten. Yeah, by Tenten. If Sai can handle it, a flying Tenten. I assume they'll have tactics together?

I'm being unfair, perhaps, and only talking about the tactics of the Part II team, but that's because I don't think the Part I team has any significant options. I'm saying that mostly assuming that Naruto will fight in the same style he did with that power (and so won't use kage bunshin). If that's the case the Part I team is basically five close-range fighters with high attack power.

Those five pieces decide that Neji and Shikamaru are the big threats and make a full assault. In doing so, Sakura gets underestimated and has a great chance of taking out one. Sai captures another, Tenten causes trouble for them and explodes the captured, Neji makes short work of a third. One of those three better be Chōji. By this point, Shikamaru is dodging away from one of those still alive, and probably outright captures the remaining two with one of his newer techniques (kage nui?).

One team has a lot of power. The other team has fantastic pieces with some great jutsu. And to make it worse, it's the second (strategically superior) team who has two of its five basically untouchable (Neji and Sai).
