Is anybody besides me REALLY looking forward to this game? I mean, yeah, the second one did suck majorly and probably did turn away a lot of people, but the more I see of DMC 3 the more I wanna play it. S'posedly there's something like seven different fighting styles in it. I'm just looking forward to doing good ol' hand to hand combat again, the Ifrit Gauntlets rocked like no other.

I so coulda sworn I already made a thread on this, but oh well...yes, the game will undoubtedly rock. Capcom usually isn't stupid, they try not to repeat the same mistakes for the most part...though I can't say that holds true with the X series which just kinda went downhill after X4...but anyway, fighting hand-to-hand is back, I'm happy.

I played the first one it was cool as far as storyline and graphics are concerned but it was way too easy and short in gameplay. Was the second any better and is the third making any improvements?

The only really big problem, in my opinion with DMC 2 was that the story was total crap...oh, and the game was way too easy. The third one will undoubtedly remedy both of these problems. Looks very promising.

i bought tyhe first DMC the day it came out...at first it was fun...but then it gets boring cause it is repetitive...the only fun thing was the bonus missions...i didnt even give myself the trouble of buying the second..i just hope this third one is more like the first but with a lot more moves and much more enemies...and maybe a little rpg type level up system..that would be cooll..that would compensate you for dpending hours killing enemies.:p

I loved devil may cry 1 (most action games have reptitiveness EroKage, just try the new castlevania, chaos legion, etc., lol), and DMC 2 really left a sour taste, so im hoping DMC 3 is the game that will undo that. Have any of u seen the trailer with some of the moves? Rain Storm, Aerial Rave, Fire Works... CRaZy stuff. Oh right, I checked with a few gaming sources and some stores and the date they have for the game is February 2005; the gamestop I went too told me a date in mid february, (forgot exact # but something like 16th or 17th). Use enemies as snowboards?!!! seriously, i cant wait!

the 2nd game had graphics that were really tuned down for some reason. the 1st game looked much more impressive. the good thing about dmc 2 were all the new things that you could make dante do. running on walls was quite possibly the coolest thing.

YEh DMC 3 is gonna own, the vid clips i seen are amazing. DMC 1 was the best, but wen i played DMC 2 it was a big let down......(Disgraceful). But DMC 3 looks promising and looks like it gonna have a gr8 storyline. :wink

It has a few reviews for the game. PSM gave it a 9.0 and Famitsu Weekly gave it a 9.0 9.0 and 8.0. So I guess from 4 reviews you can judge that the game isn't a let down and that it's quite good. But i'll have to try it for myself.

What does everyone think about this game? Will it be better than the first one or blow again like the second one? Or maybe an in-betweener. I personally think it will be the best yet because Capcom should have learned from their mistakes and it looks like they did from the screenshots and what I have read so far. i've seen one or two videos? It looked fast and action packed like the last ones but with more moves and possibly more fluid.
i definitely want this game, although i will rent it first since i've wasted my money on what i thought was a 'sure thing' before only to be suck with a crappy game i paid far too much for.

Devil may cry is awesome. I rented the game. But buyer beware...this game is hard. You will die alot and you will have repeat levels over and over again but once you get the controls down..its just pure fun to play.

it isnt actually that hard except for the last few missions for normal mode those are a pain. The only thing i would have liked is to make the new characters you unock actually have different storylines like dmc1. ldk sucks in dmc3 no yamato and isnt any stronger at all.

btw i got the bonus ending and it was only like 10 secs. do you get more if a story if you do it on hard mode or something?

Well it seems that some reviewers like Gamespot got faulty copies of DMC3 that was a lot harder than the released retail version..

Every review I read said DMC3 is like "teh impossible!!11" and some reviewers even docked DMC3 some points saying that everything else was near perfect but the game was too hard (yet, when I played it--it felt like a natural progression from DMC1's difficulty. Nothing more harder than that or Xbox's Ninja Gaiden.

What gives?

It turns out some "review" builds of DMC3 were actually quite different from the final retail copies, at least in terms of difficulty.

The second level boss in the review version was nearly impossible and had no life bar on normal (when I say impossible, I mean he was a ridiculous cheating bastard who's probably going to hell and dragging his creator along with him). In the retail copy of DMC3, however, the same boss on the same settings could be beaten in one try and actually had a life bar. It simply was a different experience.

Unfortunately, a lot of reviewers were stuck with these faulty gold copies. Of course, editors the world over all honestly believed their builds were final and rightly so (since they were all marked as final / reviewable by Capcom). We thankfully had both versions to work off.

I have to admit that I was initially furious with the game and super angry over the ultra high rating it received from Dunham simply because I was playing an incomplete and inaccurate gold copy. When I spoke to Jeremy about it and asked him how he could be so certifiably crazy to rate DMC3 that highly, we started realizing that our versions were seriously different. Once I played the final, I finally understood what was going on and my early rage subsided.

I hope that explains things. Let me know if you have anymore questions. I'll try and find them between all of the poorly thought out hate mail.

DMC3 is an extremely good game, imho. I haven't played the 1st or the 2nd though, so I can't compare. It also starts out hard. Supposedly this is because the easy mode on the US version is the normal mode in the Japanese version, and so the normal mode on the US version is the hard mode in the Japanese version. Stupid Cerberus took me four tries, with the fourth try using the cheapest, slowest, and lamest strategy ever. :(

About Cerberus, here's a tip: use Swordsmaster style against him & have a plenty of Vital Stars. That's how I beat him. & use guns against him to break ice armor.

Its a very good game, arguably better than the first one... And yes definitely better than the second one. Its worth the money but in my opinion I still like the first one, then again not very many games seem to be able to top the perfection that is Devil May Cry.

I got it the Friday of the release week, I played it all weekend and beat it Sunday evening.

I played it every night for a week and finally beat DMD and then just fooled around. One thing I think thats good to note is that you can keep playing it and it really doesn't get boring for a good while. The bosses were really good and I enjoyed it!
