What soccer club do you think is the best now?

mow
10-08-2004, 01:20 AM
okay real madrid is getting out of hand if you ask me, they are buying out every single decent player, im really beginning to dislike them at the moment. Lets see, man i havent seen any soccer ever since i came to the us! fill me in theoneandonly.

also another question name six soccer players that shouldve won the world cup, but never did

my list:- Boshkash(, ruud gulit (holland), marco fan bastin (holland), ozibyo (portugal), hugue (romania), yohan kreof (holland).
the speeling is all missed up i know :D

Right now in Spain, Barcelona is at the top and Real Madrid is some where at 10th or 11th position. Madrid is just like a money making company and not a football club.
As for the other question,I think..
Luis Figo (Portugal), Pavel Nedved (Czech Republic), Ryan Giggs (Wales), Henrik Larsson (Sweden), Alessandro Del Piero (Italy), and Gabriel Batistuta (Argentina).

mow
10-08-2004, 01:40 AM
Gabriel Batistuta (Argentina).

hands down one of the greatest soccer players that ever existed, its such a shame he never won it.
yep i agrue with you, real is becoming a cash cow ,kinda like Man united during its prime. but at least man united played some great soccer, rember their match with Brein munich? when munich was leading with 1 goal till the last 5 minutes then man soccered 2 goals? that match was terrific, up there in my list of all time great matches

Go Manchester United and Real Madrid...

theoneandonly
10-08-2004, 01:47 AM
I agree man! The match is the best ever. I think the one who scored the goals for man utd were Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ryan Giggs.
Now the English Premier League is getting boring coz that one particular club named Arsenal. I hope they will lose the next matches.
And what's up with Real Madrid bringing in strikers? They've got so many forwards but what's the use when they have no defenders?

Yuhi
10-08-2004, 01:56 AM
i think it was teddy sheringham who scored the last goal.
Real is bieng stupid, when they sold makelele (defensive midfielder) last year to chelsea they started to fall apart...

Henrik Larsson (Denmark),

OMG!!!!!!! u better edit that, he plays for Sweden, dont make raise my voice ;)

mow
10-08-2004, 02:00 AM
I agree, selling makelee they put a huge dent in their defence.
Back to the man united/munich match, wasnt it amazing how the goal was scored THE EXACT SAME WAY TWICE! A corner kick to a header, wicked man! wicked!

jquchiha
10-10-2004, 02:15 AM
As I said before, my favorite is Barcelona, and they have a very good team now. They have many awesome players like Ronaldihno, Deco, Etoo, Giuly, Larsson, and Xavi. The other teams I consider are Arsenal and Milan. Arsenal have excellent players and are playing great since last seasn. Milan is the most complete and balance team (defensively and offensively) in Italy, and have Shevchenko and Kaka.

I think AC Milan will win. They have a strong team this year. I don't think Arsenal will win but they should make it into the quarterfinals.

well...dunno about that, they havent played that good this year (yet), they need shevshenko to activate himself, but barcelona looks good exept the injuries, the same goes to Juventus del piero and trezeguet injured, but i would do a warning on Chealsea, they did almost make last year, and with Abramovitch (sp?) buying all he can, who knows...and dont count out Man U with Rio coming back, and rooney coming in...

jquchiha
10-10-2004, 09:51 PM
Juventus and Barcelona are suffering from injuries right now, that's why both teams are interested in others players. I read that Juventus is interested in Morientes. And Barcelona is interested in a midfielders, I think a mexican.

Man U got a great player like Rooney, but i don't think they'll win. Intead, Chelsea has more chances, Abramovitch can buy whatever player he likes. Also they have a great couch like Mourihno (used to be couch of Porto)
Personally, I like Lampart, he is a great player

Guatemala and Canada are in the same group road to World Cup 2006. Canada is in the last position with 2 points, and Guatemala is in the first position with 7 points :D , but Guatemala had been just beaten by Costa Rica last night  . Hopefully, Guatemala can qualify to the next round.

Who's your favorite player from Sweden? Mine is Frederick Ljunberg, he is awesome player, has speed, ball control, technique... Talking about Sweden, I really enjoy watching Sweden during the USA world cup 1994 (i was just a kid), and I remember two great player: Tomas Brolin and Tomas Raveli the goalkeeper.

What do you think about the attitude of Beckham of getting the yellow card on purpose? He did it, because he suffered an injury, so he knew that he won't play the next match. But still, it was not the correct thing to do.

Personally the first thought I had after the game on Saturday was that he got himself booked on purpose as it would be better to miss a game against Azerbaijan than run the risk of missing one of the more important games in the group. However I really laughed when I read that as it seems that is pretty much what he's done.

The question though is whether or not is was a good plan or a big mistake? It was a good plan from his point of view as he misses the game while injured. However it's a little stupid if you ask me to go and tell the Telegraph reporters that he deliberately got booked. I bet FIFA aren't too impressed and will probably be hoping that someone lodges a complaint so that they can take action against him to show that this kind of attitude doesn't wash with them...

So what are your thoughts... brains or plain stupid?

So what are your thoughts... brains or plain stupid?

I think that he made an intelligent move to get the yellow car on purpose, because he knows he is injured, and he will miss the next game, so getting a suspension (because it is his second yellow card that he has accumulated) for the next game will be just fine for him. If he hadn't get the yellow card, he would miss the next game, and still carry one yellow card accumulated. Although it is a good strategy, personally, I don't that because it is against the fair play and it is not the correct thing to do... It is not a good image for soccer...It is like when someone's just pretending to be injured in a game just because he wants to waste time. I don't like that either. But all these are available "resources" that the players can use for their advantage in soccer.

About Beckham telling everyone and admit that he did it; at least he his being honest...But the damage is done...

The FIFA presidente Blatter criticized him too... Probably he will get suspended, and who knows if he will lose his position as captain of the national team

Sweet a thread about the best damn sport in the world. Haha

Anyways I have played a lot of football in my life, I used to play for boys clubs and my school nearly every year. Although I lost interest in playing seriously, as my grades were suffering so I decided to concentrate on those >.> ugh. .

I still play for fun, but its not the same.

Anyways two favourite teams are Manchester United, and Glasgow Rangers. And being from Scotland I have a very bad international team . . . I have going with the majority but Voghts must go -_____-

yea, when u score 3 times in a role. it goes for any sports. this thread is kinda a coincidence since i was thinking about soccer. i used to be a pro at this back when i was 5-9 year old or so in africa. but then i came back to america and got hooked unto other sports and hobbies. pretty sad. then i signed up for soccer class in my HS this year. so now i'm starting to learn how to play again. but i play so poorly. but no need to worry. my tricks and skillz are coming back one by one.

No, I didn't see it. Did you? How was it?
I kind of like the former Yugoslavia team, with Pedrag Mijatovic, Stoijkovic, Drulovic.
btw... talking about Netherlands... I also liked Dennis Bergkamp, who is a very talented player, but now he is too old... but when he played in WC 98, it was awesome

I was amazed . I didn't think Yugoslavia would play so well . They have a good coach now . I'm from Yugoslavia ( SERBIA AND MONTENEGRO ) . If you want the details from the game I'll gladly give it to you.

Anybody catch the Fulham vs. Blackburn Rovers game? It was a really great game to watch. If you missed it here is a short summary of what happened in the game. Paul Gallagher scored the first goal in the tenth minute after a cross from Steven Reid. The next goal, in my opinion, was the better of the two. Zat Knight committed a foul in the box in the 76th minute and he was ejected for accumulation of yellow cards. Blackburn was awarded a penalty kick and it was taken by Paul Dickov. Dickov completely faked out the keeper and perfectly placed the ball in the opposite corner of the net for the second and final goal of the match. Both teams played well but in my opinion, Blackburn played a better, faster, smarter, and a more skillful game. This made the end result Blackburn 2, and Fulham 0.

Milan is getting closer to Juventus.
Juventus tied with Inter 2-2, Inter was down 0-2, but they started playing with 4 forwards(Adriano, Martins, Vieri, Recoba) and tied the game.
Milan defeated Chievo 1-0 with Crespo's goal.

Chelsea, a great team indeed... Actually it is my favorite of the Premier League...
And Adriano is doing fantastic rite now... I don't know what can Inter do without him...

btw, I heard that Batistuta may go to Barcelona... he is very old now... but Barcelona can incorporate him without any problem, and without paying a lot... He can be a very good substitute...
Hope that Larsson get fine soon, I think he will have a surgury in US

Actually Chelsea is my favorite team of the Premier League. My favorite player in that team is Frank LampardLampard is a dirty little Judas, leaving us for the Blue blooded scum. Same goes for Joe Cole and Glen Johnson. That's why we've been left in the lurch in the playoff positions in Division One.

Zat Knight committed a foul in the box in the 76th minute and he was ejected for accumulation of yellow cards

Ejected? That's sent off, mate. o.O;;
