Yeah I didn't see a topic about this. Now we all know by now that when Gainax makes these once in a lifetime anime like this (the only exception would be NGE, being that it's an exception to all anime rules up to this point), they have some philosophical or metaphorical message that they like to get across. So what have you learned or realized after watching TENGEN TOPPA GURREN LAGANN?

For me I guess that Spiral energy is a euphemism for our (humans) progress in life, history, and overall as a society. The spiral nemesis is supposed to mean that too much progression can be a bad thing overall hurting our environment and our world, and that as humans we should slow down occasionally. The whole concept of the Helix King, Spiral Nemesis, and Gurren Brigade shows that there is no actual evil when it comes to evolving and that there really is no right and wrong, and that no person has the power to control the way evolution and progress is supposed to happen.

Spiral energy is more so as the power of potential than anything else. Spiral energy can create anything that you can imagine much like how we humans have the capability to do really extraordinary things. (which at most times are destructive, pointless, and overall stupid)

Sorry this isn't so much of an obsession of GL more so that the more that I watch it the more it is true :P

Auto-bots assemble....
oh~ Yeah i've learned that we all can't have a gurren lagann, or see yokos boobs.
oh~ I agree with much of your statement sir, and by-jolly-good-day I couldn't agree a 100% more. However, I take that statement back. Human progression was not the only key touched upon this, a more minor issue was brought up by the helix king and virals dream showing him with a child.
what could this mean, I don't feel like analyzing it.

I've learned too many things to list :risu

I like your connection with the progress thing. The more we advance, the more we have to be wary of the drawbacks. We have to be responsible, like Simon promised he would :wtf

Believing in one's self. Any situation can be broken through as long as a person keeps trying with the right mind set.

Not a direct quote from the series (or at least I don't think it is), but I've learned that no matter what the situation, your manly spirit demands success.

1) I've learned to pierce the heavens

2) That I waited for the uncensored of 06 soo long and it turns out to be not uncensored at all, aside from Gimmy's penis.

3) That Gainax love to mindfuck us all and do bad endings.

4) Saying "Who the hell do you think I am?!" to 9000 people! :yell

I've learned that there is someone who believes in me that believes in himself :pek. Also I've learned that reason is something that you can kick to the curb in a tight situation.

Don't let somebody or something control the way you live, if you have a desire in your heart, go full force and get it! because you can!

I've learned that the drill is a man's soul.

Gurren Lagann haters have never watched the series.

Even kicking ass and doing the right thing still amounts to a hobo ending.

Rossiu is an asshole.

Everyone can change, for the better or for the worst.

Drills > Swords

GAR = life.

thats about it...
