I'll join this club. Remember when Gaara saw Sakura and thought of Yashamaru? Well I do ^_^ And she's not so much a Sasuke freak any longer.

If Sakura doesn't get to be with Naruto, hopefully it's with Gaara. I can't see any of the other girls being with him, unless it's an unintroduced one from Sand. Plus there's Lee which is the other option for Sakura, but he also has Tenten who's on his team.

I'd like to join! I've been a closet Gaara/Sakura freak for quite some time now, I even have a 10 chapter fan fic on ff.net for the pairing. Page 1:

Tsunade: ...it's just like this, you just have to send this to the Wind Country, is that alright? It's quite an easy mission, isn't it?

Shikamaru: Yeah right, I have to risk my life for all those previous missions...so I only have to send this thing to its destination, then it's all done right?

(Sakura walks in)

Sakura: Sorry to interrupt! Teacher, here are those information which you have requested for me to search...

Sakura: Ah..s..sorry! You're still busy now right? I'll go out first, then come in again later!

Tsunade: Haha...it's alright, Sakura...please come in.

Shikamaru(thoughts): ....bossing other people around in such a commanding manner...I have to thank god that she is not my teacher.

Tsunade: Oh yes, just about the right time! You can go with Shikamaru together, it has been really taxing on you training all the time, right?

No, I don't think it's lame at all. I actually agree somehow with you, because both of them possess the ability to assist each other on the way to finding their true selves. So, 'tis well said! :wink

I really like this pairing now, but before that I was a SakuLee fan... anyway the only "canon" pairing with Sakura Imo is SakuSasu (I don't like SakuNaru a lot, instead).

Imho, Sakura is a bit like Naruto, since both of them are talkative and open to the others. So, being Gaara a silent and quite phylosophical (sp?) person, he could get along well with someone like Sakura.

In battles, they could work togheter very well too, since Sakura's healing ability, her physical strenght and her skills to detect genjutsu can complete gaara's hight stealth abilities and his skills in sand ninjutsu.

Furthermore, I think they really look nice together, since they share similar colours (red hair - pink hair; water green eyes - emerald green eyes; reddish outfit for both of them).

Finally, the first person that Gaara wasn't willing to kill on the spot during a battle was Sakura. She remembered him of Yashamaru, and I'm sure that Gaara, even at this point of the manga, still loves his uncle.
Maybe he's understood that what Yashamaru said about love and emotional scars is true, even if what he did to Gaara himself was bad...
So, on Gaara's side I really can see this pairing to happen.

The problems are on Sakura's side... she still think to Sasuke in a romantic way, and she never really talked with Gaara.
But, I've to say that she was one of the few people who stood up against him, and that she could really understand Gaara since she knows another jinchuuriki, Naruto, very well.
Furthermore, Sakura seems to like quite people, but in the same time she doesn't like the fact that Sasuke left all his firends and duties to seek power.
On the contrary, Gaara embraced his life and accepted the others, but also himself, and fought to being accepted by his people at the point to give his life for them.
I hope that later in the story Sakura will notice him, I really hope that. I can still dream, can't I? :amuse

Hi Sariachan, no problem! Both SasuSaku and NaruSaku are quite ok for me. Yup, I also think that their personalities are compatible with each other.

If Gaara is the desert sand, then Sakura would be the ever changing wind, she would become a great source of motivation for him, moving him onto a new chapter in life.

Yes, their ninja skills complement each other's quite well too just like what you said. Plus the point about their appearances, they would definitely look good together. (Imagine the cool red-head with his pink-haired beauty)

I think that Gaara needs someone who is able to understand him and look after him, also because deep down inside his heart, he yearns for someone to love him after the Yashamaru incident.

I think that Sakura now cares for Sasuke in a more sister like way, she loves him because he's like an important family member to her. Yup, I can say that Sakura will be able to understand Gaara as she could already understand Naruto. I somehow think that after Sakura has done so much for him, Sasuke does not deserve her love at all, he is way too selfish.

Although I don't think Gaara and Sakura's relationship will go that far, I do hope that they will become friends though. As for the rest, maybe we should just leave it to the GaaSaku fans' imagination. >_O

I think that Gaara and Sakura are good couple because both of them need love and care. Why? Well, Sakura is very sad because Sasuke left her and Gaara... Well Gaara is Gaara. :) He need's love and care because when he was child, nobody love him. Hm, why do I like GaaSaku?

I'd like to blame the fanfiction (and it's entirely true!), but I also see something interesting in regards to the relationship the two might share- canon-wise. I was first intrigued at how Gaara reacted to slamming Sakura into the tree- I mean of course he wouldn't hesitate to kill her, but she reminded him of someone of significance to him. Then the Gaara/Naruto fight appeared, but I still couldn't let go at how he seemed to be having flashbacks of Yashamaru and Sakura protecting her significant other.

Then I started looking into the fandom and after having read my first two Gaara/Sakura fics (How & Why by randomsomeone and A Change in the Wind by Skitzofreak), I was hooked. *_____*

As of current, my favorite Gaa/Saku author is probably sharingank.:amuse

Yup, I think they seem to have some kind of sparks going on between them even though they didn't talk to each other much. Somehow, I think Gaara was slightly impressed with Sakura's courage during his fight with Naruto deep down in his heart. Maybe that's also one of the reasons that he hesitated.

I have to disagree. It might lack plot, but I love the psychological warfare they have going on. He tries to hurt/tease her with insults, she tries to break him with touches. It makes the GaaSaku-pairing somehow more believable to me ^^"
