at first i thought Claymore was the best anime but thats beacause i didnt give Tengen Toppa Gurran Lagan a chance after i did i realized that this is WAY epic as well.
Do you think this is the best anime of the year if not which is

I would say, its one of the best of the year.
I would have to give my best to Code Geass - Lelouch of the Rebellion, even though it started last year Lawl. Code Geass immediately got me hooked after seeing the first episode, whereas TTGL didnt, until the timeskip.

Yes, I say TTGL is the best. It's my favorite of all time, therefore it is the best of this year.

For me, only Code Geass can rival with TTGL..

Is it just me or nowadays New Modern Mecha-Based anime seem quite epic and great to watch...

I... really feel sorry for Darker Than BLACK. It was alright, could be better but - as TTGL got gradually famous, DTB and the rest was pretty much left to burn, I think. Everything else looked like crap compared to TTGL. ^^ I can't even put DTB as overhyped, not many people gave a crap anymore after TTGL. <3

Claymore was good too, except for the last episodes. :3

Code Greass didnīt like to me, but TTGL yes, is epic.

And Code Greass isnīt the best anime of last year. Is Death Note :pek

I honestly don't see why CG gets so much praise. I like it, I watch it. It's entertaining but if you sit back and look at the plot it just winds up being weird and contradictory in the second half.

That said TTGL wins this year for sure but I would say CG wins last year.

Lawl no, it didn't suck compared to the manga. The manga may have been better, but we're not talking about manga here. It was an excellent adaption.

And lol CG is fucking awesome. Unlike TTGL it actually has a storyline,and doesn't have to rely completely on it's fight scenes like TTGL did.

Don't get me wrong, I really love TTGL, but I can't stand the amount of people who are screaming "OMG TTGL IS BEST EVAR NO OTHER COMPARE EVAR LOL ROW RW FIGHT DA POWA LOL"

I consider Code Geass to be a 2006 candidate. For 2007...my vote goes to School Days. Clannad, Dragonaut, and Gundam all look like they could be potential contenders as well.

Yeah the anime for DN was great, up until L died anyway, for me.

And the fights were one of the best aspects of TTGL, so why not take full advantage? :P Imagine if you took away that great fightscenes... what would be left? Just weird-looking mecha moping around or something XD



IT'S 'FIGHT DA POWAH' WITH THE 'H' DAMNIT :laugh But seriously, overhyped people after seeing the raw or something - I don't think you'll get them much anymore, atleast not as much as before, when it was still airing. XD

There is nothing else I have anticipated as much in my entire time watching anime than the next episode of Gurren-Lagann.

So yeah, best anime of the year, and unless something beats it next year, it will be one of my favourites of all time, if not ALL TIME.

I'm not gonna forget this. I'm gonna wait for the dub and any OVAs.

Only problem I have with Gurren-Lagann is that everything else pales in comparison.

Oh please, give me a break. All I said is that CG is awesome. Which it is. I hope I didn't insult you by not saying the TTGL is the best series ever to come into existence. And I'm not a CG fanboy, I haven't even thought about it since the series ended. I just recall it being a very enjoyable anime.


Theres no need to be an asshole. I don't care if you dislike CG, but being called a blind fanboy kinda pisses me off.

TTGL was good, but it wasn't until episode 14 or so where I actually loved it. I think episodes 14-27 alone were enough to say TTGL is the best this year, but Death Note (excluding the last dozen or so episodes :P ) is a close second.

The fatal flaw of Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann: After witnessing the GAR given off by this anime, you go into anime withdrawal. So Yeah Definatly Aniem of the Year, at least in my eyes.

Bleh, 14-20 were the down times of the series...if you can call them that.

Luneas, I hope you aren't Lord Yu. It would be really disappointing to know that he overrates Gurren Lagann that much.

Gurren Lagann is for entertainment and the action sequences are entertainment enough for everyone.

Hrm, well I was gonna say Code Geass...
but damn o_0 alot of people seem to really like Gurren Laggen. My roommate goes on about it forever, but I never listened much. I watched the first ep when it came out, but it seemed so cartoony, plus a mech I really hated the look of, and then at the end came your standard hot chick wearing next to nothing. I deleted it right there. Perhaps I'll give it another look...
