Is Order really that much better than BSS-Anon is?

My current folder is

1-16 [Order]
17-27 [BSS-Anon] HQ

I'd like to think that Order is overall better, what do you think?

It depends what aspect you mean by 'better'.

Speed? Video Quality? Translation Quality? (Although the last factor probably wouldn't matter much if you don't know much about it.)

Plus, they totally did different episodes, how could you possibly compare. :O

Order

Order have subbed a decent few series I've viewed and never disapointed

Seeing the intro for ep 17 from BSS-Anon, then Order's, it looks like BSS-Anon has a sharper version of the opening drill.

Im sticking With BSS, Why? most of my folder is BSS and is too lazy to re download even if the quality might be better.

i think the MP4's (order's) are just awesome. maybe it's my hate for .avi that's clouding my judgement. <_<
plus order's = clockless. that's more than enough win for me.

BSS-Anon has .mkv files too, pretty high quality, if I might add.

I meant like I saw an intro from BSS-Anon, then another episode from Order

BSS-Anon seems to have sharper images, why? :(

Well, they can't be the same either, since BSS-Anon did the timeskip intro, and Order did the pre-timeskip intro. :3

And it'll probably be because of skystrife, skystrife uses the 720p RAW for BSS-Anon's encodes. So they look alot sharper/cleaner. I don't know what Order uses, sorry. ^^

I'll still stick with Order for some reason :3

Thanks for clearing it up!

I have half and half. All 15 eps of the pre-time skip i have are Order's and everything Post-time skip i have is BSS-Anon. So see i think they're both awesome but if i had to choose i'd choose BSS-Anon, they're quality is slightly better and they released eps on a weekly basis, Order took too long for me.

The only thing I can say for BSS-Anon is that they're the fastest subbers out of the rest. But the sub quality goes to Order (which is why they're taking longer to sub).

Order sometimes spells the names wrong (Roshiu, Gimi, Dari), despite the official romanizations.

I'm keeping my 1-15 as Order and my 16-27 as BSS-Anon.

Same here. Even if Order does finish the rest by christmas time some of they're files are just as big if not bigger than BSS so i'm just fine the way they are.

Order used to get the names wrong but they're fixing a lot of them in the more recent episodes (Roshiu -> Rossiu, Helix King -> Sprial King). Plus they're releasing DVD ripped subs where they'll fix a lot of the names.

Though they still do the wrong names for the Ganmen (Razengan as opposed to Lazengann).

I'm pretty sure Razengan is the correct romaji.

It is, but Lazengann is the official spelling. Roshiu is the correct romaji too but not the correct spelling.

They also used to call Leeron, Ron.

Official boxes can still fuck up romaji. =/ It's not official until it's the English release. Remember some action figure boxes say Gurren Ragann instead of Gurren Lagann.

Well, there is no difference between 'l' and 'r' in Japanese; neither of them exist, but are blended together to one sound. I've been told by native speakers that 'l' is closest if you have to say one of them, but as every area has it's own accent, I'm sure that varies.

Also, as for 'Roshiu', the individual phonetic sounds are 'ro' 'shi' and 'yu'; 'shi' and 'yu' are combined together in what is known as a glide, and the correct representation of that would probably be something closer to 'roshu'. However, as names aren't written in Hiragana, and that's all I know currently, there could be more to that story than I know. Still something to think on.

The dvd rips' resolution is smaller and the video quality has gone down, for some weird reason. That's how I remember it, anyway. It's been a long time since I watched them. =___=;

I think I'm keeping all episodes done by both teams, specially BSS-Anon's, since Motaa did jokesubs for them XD
