Well, from places I've read, it seems like season 2 has been confirmed somewhere for Laggan, but after actually seeing the damn finale', it seems like it ended with nowhere else to go. Simon is a wandering drill man, Rossiu is controlling the city perfectly, Anti-Spiral is destroyed with Nia; the only way I could see it, is if they focused it around Gimmy and how he's the second generation or some crap like that.
I'm pretty sure they could, but I don't know if it would be good or not.
And they STILL need to fucking explain episode 1's prologue.

I think it was explained that the episode 1 prologue was an alternative dimension Simon. don't take my word for it though.
I think season 2 is suppose to be side stories in between the 7 year timeskip or something.
I really don't wanna see another season, I really don't think anything will be able to top the s1 finale, and if it is true, who would really wanna see a season of a time of peace?
If it is after where s1 left off it still has hope because of Viral and 40 year old Simon making a comeback :iria

Eh, I really wouldn't mind Simon becoming the teacher to the new generation of Gurren Brigade, but I really am not a huge fan of Gimmy being the main character, so I don't know what.
I want a second season, but there's no way that the serious can revolve anyone except around Simon, Kamina, Kittan, or Viral for me. Gimmy or anyone else just wouldn't catch my damn interest.
Or maybe bring in some random new guy with bright green hair, bigger sunglasses, and more powah.

actually, that really makes a lot of sense. In ep 26 when Simon was thrown into an alternate dimension he was brought back to the same digging scene he was when he started the series. If it was the same in ep1, then that will mean that everytime that he is put into another dimension he would end up in the same situation. Simon has probably been put into an alternate dimension hundreds of times and this was the one that he finally escaped from. Who knows :gar

There is no way in hell I want a second season. Who would be the star, Gimmy or old Simon? Old Simon is kinda depressing and I just plain don't like Gimmy.
As for the prologue I'll just assume it was an accident. I mean I don't think you could play it off as an alternate reality since in the prologue Boota is much older in his evolved form yet Simon is about the same age yet in Boota's alternate reality he was his normal age from the looks of it.

Whoa, that is a good idea Neji.
Maybe all of the alternate dimensions eventually led them to reach the Anti-Spiral and get thrown into another alternate dimension.

That's actually a pretty interesting idea... except that Genome would become the villain by the end.

He's not exactly a villain villain. I mean yeah, he was a pretty terrible human being but I think that was 1000 years after forcing himself into becoming cold hearted in order to prevent human extinction.

But we already know how the previous war ended.
It'll still be cool seeing the battles and the Spirals being defeated in that ocean and knowing exactly how Genome escapes ect.

I don't know if you guys noticed or what, but at the beginning of the ending for episode 16 (the recap ep), it shows 2-3 scenes of the GARlock captain and the Boota look-alike character from the beginning of ep 1. I posted the link at the TTGL ep 27 thread, but apparently no one really noticed it...
As for season 2, aside from the predictions made above this post, I really don't know what's the plot gonna be. I mean, this isn't like DBZ, where the ending in the manga is on an Earth basis. And so they decided to expand its dimensions to involving the galaxy and such. But this is TTGL that we are talking about, it started from a small underground town to fighting for the entire universe in 27 episodes! What else can there be?

Popular theory is Simon was fucking Kamina's Dad.
There's an art of Kamina's Dad (I believe) that looks exactly like Old Simon.

It would be stupid for someone like Kamina's father to be killed like that. Especially since Kamina looked up to him so much he has to be important. Maybe even he got thrown into an alternate universe :S

But isn't there a grave for his bones? Kamina and the Gurren Brigade found him with his necklace or ring or something, thus they deduced that it was his grave.

It is a sure thing that there will be more TTGL, not necessary with the same cast, maybe long in the future after all the current cast is dead. Remember, these are HUMAN BEINGS! There will be a Kamina somewhere out there that will not be happy with the way that things are run and will rebel!

I don't like Nakim. From his 20 years later design, he doesn't look fucking GAR enough to pick up after Kamina or Simon...not even cool enough looking to take out Kittan or Viral for secondary main characters.

Well yeah, just look at Simon. 5 minutes ago, he's hair is still flat as usual; after 5 minutes of flying in his Gurren-Lagann, he comes out with jelled hair and a completely new uniform. :gar AND he got his hair to stay like that for like, FOREVER! (seriously, he looks too much like Kamina, which is a good thing, I guess)
