This fight takes place in the Forest of Death.
Temari and Shikamaru are next to each other on one side of the forest while Hidan is on the other side. They both know of each other's abilities and get no prep time. They could set traps, though, while the other person/team is still advancing.
Shikamaru took down Hidan with little difficulty during the timeskip, but could he do it pre-timeskip with the help of Temari?

Doubtful. Even if they know of his abilities, Shika had far more Chakra post time skip, and much greater control over his shadows. Temari couldnt really do much. Not to mention Hidan is far faster than both of them.
Id say Hidan take this with ease.

You guys have to realize PTS could still stand for Pre Time skip or Post time skip.
Anyway Hidan def defeats them since they are pre time skip. Shika barely got the upperhand when he was helping Asuma out. No way he can win now.

Sorry, I usually use PTS for pre and TS for timeskip.
And don't forget that Temari has her weasel summon. It could cut Hidan's neck off pretty easily seeing that it could cut down tree trunks which are way thicker than a human body.
And Hidan will probably underestimate them.

The weasel summon obviously isnt that strong. Or else Temari would be the strongest person in Naruto.

I say Hidan wins only because of Shikamaru being too preoccupied with keeping Temari out of harm's way to fight against him as well as he did in the Gaara Retrieval Arc.

I think it is bloody strong, and I think she is a bit broken like that. Probably why we'll never saw her again since she used it. Just like Naruto summoning frogs was never seen again since the Gaara fight; it would make for a boring battle if all Naruto ever did was summon a frog to sit on the enemies head.
Anyway, thick trees are stronger than Hidans neck.
I still give this to Hidan. Shikamaru has terrible stamina pre skip.

Hidan must have some power to resist kirikiri mai, else he would have been torn apart by the more powerful fūton: atsugai which Kakuzu said he could use freely with Hidan around. If only Hidan's immortal made a little more sense.
Shikamaru needed to use an awful lot of Part II Nara jutsu to defeat Hidan, and required the speed to evade his attacks and the chakra to hold him for more than a few seconds. Even with Temari, he cannot cope with Hidan here.

That's true, he seems resistant to attacks when it suits him. Elementals don't seem to work, but then again Asumas wind baldes did! And Shikamaru managed to injure him with a kunai. I agree, Hidan makes no sence.
