The Nintendo Databooks all say that Luigi is potentially more powerful than Mario, but lacks the control of his powers that Mario has. Tails is the weakest fighter present and Sonic can probably beat Mario. Once Tails is out of the way it would be Mario vs. Luigi and Sonic at the same time and Mario can't beat that.

Mario can't beat Sonic, and Tails(currently) can't beat Sonic
(I say currently cuz according to the comics tails will supposedly pass up Sonic in skills, and power)

That guy he owned was nigh omnipotent. And was destroying entire multiverses with ease between his hands.

I knew who the elephant was, I just never saw this fight
last I saw of him was when it took Super Sonic, Hyper Knuckles, and Turbo Tails to fight him
and in the end tails' super form was the strongest as he was the last one fighting
awesome it finally happened
so does he still have that power? or even a fraction of it?

Titan Tails isn't canon. It was FAR too stupid...... Seriously the WORST thing ever in the comics..... Power Chaos..... the day Sonic rips off both DC and Marvel at the same time is the day I cry......
But anyway powerups aren't mentioned so I'd guess it's base Sonic and Luigi vs Base Mario and Tails

I told you it isn't canon because it's lame..... Sure it happened and all but it's soooooo laaame................... I mean come on! They ripped off two comic books which are (in my opinion) bad.
But it doesn't matter because if we DO have powerups the Mario chars become obsolete.
Now are what version of Sonic/Mario are we using. It isn't fair to put regular Maro against Regular SOnic. If it was RPG Mario then he would have a chance.
