I always thought the whole trinity was built more around the sharingan. We have each ninpou art where a particular sharingan-wielder excels at:

-Kakashi: Ninjutsu (Triforce of Power).
-Itachi: Genjutsu (Triforce of Wisdom).
-Sasuke: Taijutsu (Triforce of Courage).

I'm of the opinion that Madara is in a much higher class than the three mentioned people, which is why he gets to be the entire emblem itself.

Preskip Sasuke copied Lee's taijutsu and was considered more skilled with weapons like shurikens out of Naruto and Sakura. Postskip Sasuke, for example, now utilizes a sword in combat like how Kimimaro, a noted taijutsu specialist, would often turn his bones into weapons. Sasuke's noted speed is also based off of what he copied from Lee. Lastly, Sasuke utilizes taijutsu more than anything else in battle.
