Ok, I remember a thread that discussed this. But here's a thread to post those things. ^^; Be warned that this page may fill up with pics.

Post any poorly drawn screenshots from the anime and discuss. ^^; Argh, I hope that only Pierrot draws Naruto. Too bad they haven't got all the time in the world. Easy with the spoilers though.

EDIT: If possible, post only badly "drawn" scenes. A badly drawn scene is one that spans for at least a second. ^^ In between animation frames are not considered badly drawn because any deformations are deliberately done to produce a nice animation effect. But be happy to post some and make fun of it. DON'T BASH IT!

Lol, I would've never noticed that! I went to watch the episode and kept pausing at that part to get it - it lasts just a split-second, but it's there. It's the moment right before he blows fire at Papa Orochi.

it is, its when hes about to do the fire breathing jutsu, but its litteraly for only 1 frame so when you are normally watching the episode you cant notice it, you will have to pause it at the one frame exactly or get some video editing program so u can manually see each frame (alot easier, get virtual dub or something)

Ok there was this one pic of kimimaru where the animator's point of view was COMPLETELY off. Like the ground was one way and he was awkwardly floating in teh middle of the air. THink it was the same episode as the fight with lee, or the one before it or something.

Then when shikamaru was making his speech to his whole genin team right before they took off. The right side of his face was completely butchered. Like they guy just gave up handed it in and shot himself or something. I don't rmember wat episodes they were maybe someone can find them?

Heh heh, you like that eh? "Getting Away With Murder" would be the perfect song for him, too. Heck, his village is Sound Village - it's possible that the Papa Roach band is hanging around there at times. =P
And I meant to say "Papa Oroch" actually. Fits the pun better.

Anyways, I think people need to quit saying these are bad drawings. Most of them last for like .1 seconds. The Temari one and Gaara one I can understand, but these split-second action sequences are no big deal really. They're meant to have dramatic movements to make sequences more jerky and such. They're good for a laugh though as screenshots.

And I think Naruto was supposed to look silly there, though I don't remember that scene too well.

:offtopic: the worst animation I have ever seen has to be Samurai 7 - Ep 7. The scene where Shichiroji (aka Momotaro) is evading that rough sketch of a ruffian. If you have the ep, it starts at 6:21 and ends at 8:20. That was a painful 2 minutes *shudders at the thought of it*

OK. When you animate in fast moving motion to make the action scenes more fluid and cool to watch, you make drawings like that. They do that for every anime that has intense fast kicking, blazing action. That one doesn't deserve to be on here.

Ok, seriously. Most of the ones you guys posted are not even what this thread is specifying. For god's sake those were inbetween movement scenes. Those out of portrait scenes are drawn on purpose to make the whole sction of the scene "cool". Samurai Champloo is the best example. Has the hottest animations, but when frozed and taken pictures of, you'd see some fucked up perspectives, body anatomy, and etc.

Look at the rest of the characters. It should be obvious to you that they did that on purpose to make it funny/ They all look fucked up for a reason. Many artist use faces like those.

i dont know what happened with Naturo's quality.. sometimes i dont even bother watching the whole episode beacuse animation is so poorly done and in addition they are doing something wrong with the manga interpretation. Comparing Naturo's animation to the other Animes animations (for example Bleach or Full Metal Alchemist) is just a joke. Usually i watch naruto and bleach afterwards, and comparing their qualities, it looks like Naruto is done by kids from kindergarten with a crayons pencils.. this is at least my opinion.. dont get me wrong, some narutos episodes are really briliant, but most of them are crap, not mentioning this terrible animation they did on the intro (didnt even bother to watch outro)

I have to agree,the art changes from one episode to the next.As my friend pointed out Kimimaro was drawn differently in the first few episodes you see him in,not to mention the colour changes alot aswell.You have to consider the series has alot to live upto once the fans have read the manga,the battles are the main reason I watch the anime ( I think most people will agree,fights look better in the anime than the manga ) So I'll deal with it,after all this series could go on and on..least they are keeping the series going and not showing re-runs,that would just suck.

Naruto has never been one of the better animated Anime shows. I mean it is no where near the quality of GITS: Stand Alone Complex episodes or FMA. I think Naruto has its own style and I think what pushes it along is the story and not the special effects.

I really do agree that the sasuke and lee and orochimaru pictures shouldnt be in this topic. It's in motion so you can't judge the animation on those pictures.

In 130 there is a point where naruto jumps sideways off a tree, on the ground at the base of the statue.In the next frame he is flying sideways a mile above where he started from(and behind).Its not that its all that badly drawn (by naruto standards), its just that the background dosen't match the action of the foreground.Its like they ran out of time and slaped on a background that was just laying around.

It's completely the wrong shape! And his hair is about four times as long as it should be! To make it worse, his hair is back to it's normal length at random points in the episode!
*edit* LMAO! Also just noticed that in the first pic Sasuke's neck can be seen through his hair - making it wider then his head?! And in the second pic it's thinner then his chin! Wtf!?

Also, his collar seems very long, and is apparently cone shaped! In the second pic you can see his chest and the start of his shoulders, but the collar carries on going down to the end of the screen! He must have a right angle somewhere between his shoulder and his neck

Look at his forhead protector! It's a [I]totally[I] different size and shape in the two face pictures, despite the fact his head is the same size. Plus in the second pic the Konoha leaf is appears carefully engraved and theres a reflection of light. On the first one, it's far too big, and appears to have been scratched on with some car keys or something.
