The office for me was overated the saddest thing about the office hype was the fact that Peter kayes phoenix nights was being aired on channel 4 in the same time period and it didnt get half the acclaim it deserved.

Unfortunatly it's also a shitty town. No public transport after 10 pm, we get shoved in a formula 1 hotel with no bar a few miles outside the town. 3 days of obligatory sketching and being interested and no drinking or partying.

And ofcourse there is the dreaded group presentation about it at the end of the semester.

The real behind the scenes irony about processing that particular affectation when I get it turning for some serious action is that I actually have to take it much slower than normal. Convolution has to be a bit more pronounced in text, since I can't actually use syllabic mutation, semi-subtle leading-expressions, and expansive gesturing tricks to distract the audience further. Thus I have to find a way to substitute for them that still allows the presentation to maintain enough extraneous packaging as to make the point blur, but also attract singular attention.

'Focal-control liquid platforming' is what I call that particular debate technique. [I often disguise in said presentations several seemingly unimportant secondary exits should my primary have need to give way; which it can do surpringly easily, since those secondary exits are usually part of the platform's suport structure. Thus the liquid nature].

Works very well. If nothing else, I can almost always surf it enough to tire even the most annoyingly persistent of nitpickers into concession.

On the downside, I can eventually annoy even myself with it, and so have to retire it for a short period of time, on occassion.
