For those who are not familiarized with F.B.L.
It stands for “Fantasy Battle League”.

The name originated from the first tournament held in the OB. (thanks to Radisbak).


Well since, I am for pro radical ideas.
Well versed in Naruto.
And experienced tournament participant (and sponsor).

I decided to branch of the Main Tournament.
To hold my own in my vision of how a tournament should be held. (though huge input is brought forth thanks to the members).


In any case these are the working ideas.
Its not a single tournament. Form a pair, and make a team.
Non Seniors that wish to participate must have a background check (I will run the back ground check).
Strategies must be brought in, before the match starts.


As more ideas flow in. More changes will be made.

Paired Members.
You have 80 points to spend on your team.



1. Vote on the clear victor and it is required you state why they would in. Votes will be voided if there is no explanation, or spam.

2. Only 1 vote allowed. If later you are persuaded by someone and choose to vote for the other team, then only that vote will count.

3. No Plot No Jutsu. (Naruto doesn’t defeat Kakuzu, Sasori, and everyone just because Kishimoto won’t let him die.)

4. No filler jutsu’s. (We're letting TenTen have her crossbow.)

5. No Giant or Boss summons except for Kakashi (Pakkun), Temari (Beaver thing), Kido (Spider), Tayuya (3 Monster things.)

6. KWGoD, Aoba, Mecha Hidan and the Gai hype (Chuck Norris type hype) not allowed. Otherwise, one could have all 3 on their team and own EVERYONE. Please try and be serious and just go off their skills.

7. Experience of fighting WITH or AGAINST ninja's are in play. (I.E. if you choose Kiba-Shino-Hinata, they may work better since they are a team and know eachother's strengths and weaknesses. Or... Kakuzu will know to fight Hidan from a great distance since he doesn't want his blood drawn, and because they are partners. Hidan will have an advantage of characters who don't know of his ability). EXPERIENCE IS ONLY IN AFFECT FROM CHAPTER 363 AND BEFORE.

8. No Prep Time. (Besides the 60 second strategy run-down you give them prior to the match starting).

9. It’s a team fight. Team vs. Team

10. If caught bribing for votes or cheating (making aliases), you will be disqualified from the tournament.







Once Registration closes. And we have team parings finalized.

I shall post a list of the matches that will take place.
I shall PM you the pending match.

In order for me to make an actual match. I need strategies from both teams.
With strategies at hand, I proceed to make the match.
You shall have a grace period of three days.
What this means is, for 3 days you get to debate your strategies with no interfeance from us spectators.

Interfere and I shall warn you (and ask a mod to delete your post).
Do it again, and I shall neg rep you (and ask a mod to delete your post).
Do it again, and you are out of this tourney (and ask a mod to delete your post).
Do it again, and I shall ask an Admin to section ban you. :amuse

I can see them playing a supporting cast type role, but there would have to be some limitation to his forrest regenisis. We really don't know how huge it could get, he could make a fucking forrest!!!! hahahaha. i'm not entirely opposed to the idea. it's been a while since i read the chapter and the anime may have corruptd my mind, what have we seen from shodai and nidaime. i know forrest regenisis, but did he use anything else. was it the second who used the pure darkness jutsu or the first. nidaime also used a high level suiton did he not....

Ah I see. Well I agree that, they are limited to what they have bin shown to do.
(Similar to how 30 Itachi or Sarutobi are limited to what they have shown).

Ah well, as to the point if there is a limitation on Shodai's Mokuton Kenjutsu: Genesis Rebith/Birth of Trees, it is said in his Databook Profile that he created the very land that the Hidden Leaf Village is surrounded by.

So I'd wager based on his performance as both a revived Edo Tensai Summon and as the true Shodai, he'd likely completely rip apart landscapes with it, at least to a signifigant degree if not totally. It was crushing and breaking apart Sandaime's Doton Wall like it was nothing and it totally occupied the super majority of the space that the barrier sealed off, which was not small in any comparison.

I disagree if your saying that Shodai is a low level Kage. And Nidaime's Suitons have proven a lot more powerful then anything people like Kakuzu, Kisame, Zabuza or even Kakashi have shown.

Shodai & Nidaime's - abilities (along with title of Hokage), defiantly places them at least Mid Kage.

As for Shodai’s Mokuton. I do not trust the data books 100%. I think we should just go with what the manga has shown us. His area of influence done by Mokuton. Should not exceed the battle ground vs. the 3rd.

The thread of team pairing discussion was just that. A thread dedicated, in discussing team pairing for future tournaments. But I recived ample feed back. And members wanting to try out this idea right away. So I took it upon myself to hold a short trail.
(just to test it out).

I didn’t think it was necessary to have it sticked. If you want I shall make a link from this thread (first post).

Current status on the trial tournament - finalizations on the team must be submitted on Sunday.
Matches begin on Monday.

Any how….So then I decided, make a new organized tournament. Headed by myself (with the assistance of some senior OB members, along with Naruto ave.)

I gave it a name. FBL.
The purpose - to modify the tournament after every major tournament.
That’s right after the trail. We will give this idea a full 100% green light.
Once that ends, a new theme will be brought in ( I already know what the next theme will be).
And I plan to continue to do so, until I run out of idea or we FBL can no longer come up with fresh themes.

Not only will the tournament have a theme. We will insert (I will try vary hard) new characters. And bend the rules on what is and isn’t allowed (compared to the official tournament).

Characters like Shodai & Nidaime. Ware members are generally not sure if we should give them a chance. I will attempt to reason, and discuss why we should give them a chance.


I want this tournament, to have as many options as possible.

@ WF...i see a conflict because Shodai's Moukton could accidentaly destroy some of Sasori's puppets and Sandaime Kazekage's Iron Sand could destroy certain trees Shodai meant for other pruposes.

Besides, they've never worked together and have no clue what the other does.

I'd put Shodai well above the level of being ranked as a mid tier Kage. Genjutsu and Ninjutsu showing with his Mokuton show this, and Sarutobi nearly shitting his panets at the start of the Genesis Rebirth/Birth of Trees technique only proves this.

Shodai's strength , Taijutsu and speed were barely matched by The Professor, his genjutsu skills are obviously high from the Darkness Genjutsu technique and his Mokuton can rip apart landscapes.

I think it's reasonable speculation considering Yamato specifically commented on the fact that his mokuton isn't as good as Shodai's. I would say Mokuton alone in the hands of a very experienced ninja like Shodai would put them in high tier league.

Everything Yamato can do with Mokuton, Shodai can do 10 times better. Seriously, Genesis Rebirth had Sarutobi shitting himself and did you see the size of the trees and the scope of how much area it took up within the barrier?

The only reason Sarutobi broke out of it was because of a henged diamond form Enma had to save his ass. He can use Mokuton Bunshins and certainly use the same techniques that Yamato does like Dotons and Suitons as well.

But we know from Yamato who has admitted completely inferiority to Shodai Hokage, that he is certainly capable of high level Suitons and Doton techniques in addition to the sum of Mokuton itself.

Although obviously Shodai's taijutsu is obviously less stellar then Nidaime's and his Suitons are inferior to the Suiton Specalist.

I mean, when has naruto ever openly shown a single person bend the Bijuu to their will?? other then the Jinchurriki themselves (sort of)?

The most we have seen was suppressing the Bijuu influenced power or extracting.

Yet C3 + C4, Garuda and self destruction for Deidara are a no show. (don’t bother argueing or debating this. My word is final damn it >_<).

Sasuke Recent, summon + genjutsu in the nick of time is also banned. (sheesh summon I can understand the summon..he has done that before ..but come on T__T)

He threw up after only 3 shots of jack... so I took 6 shots to prove that he was a wimp.

you're right actually, but a lot of whiskeys are 37.5% and same with other spirits. The main whiskey I used to drink was Southern Comfort and that is usually 38%.

I used to drink around 12 doubles a day (I only had double shot glasses) of a mix of the stuff there, but mostly absinth. The stuff I used to have is La Fee Absinthe which is 68-70% (I can't remember which, it's been a while since I drunk it). But I'm really glad I quit drinking, because for a while I really had a serious problem. I must have spent £4000 on alcohol in a year, which was worrying. And although I rarely got hung over and never got sick, I did start to worry about my health a lot. Plus I could be a twat whilst drunk. Yeah, so don't drink :)

But when I was discussing our team.
Me and CBG spotted a few major flaws.

1) I really could not come up with a decent strategy. It seem that during the debate. We would most likely focus on overwhelming (just muscle or force) our way through.

2) Both are powerful mid range fighters. Each can hold their own (by themselves) a group of enemies..thanks to their abilities. That’s the pro. The con side of this two faced quarter.
Well, their major attacks seem to spam over a vary significant amount of range and length.

Meaning, a number of Sasoris 100 puppets would receive friendly fire, from Kakuzu 4 elemental jutsu attack.

This seems to hold ground on the biases of who their partner ware.

Hidan thanks to his immortality could take and even strategize with Kakuzu friendly fire.

Deidara would simply stay out of reach, and support Sasori.

Elemental affinities...Body or Mind

This is a must know when dealing with Asuma's knives

Kakashi and Yamato's explanation was that an elemental affinity was the element that your chakra naturally leans to. Kakuzu was able to 'steal' the elemental affinities of others by integrating their hearts into his body, and the heart seems to also be the centre of the Inner Coils, which is the chakra network in the body. Kakuzu stealing others' affinities makes more sense to me if the affinity is something encoded in that person's Inner Coils, rather than a matter of their mind or spirit.

Asuma's knives take the "chakra nature" of the user...For Asuma and Naruto it was their natural wind affinity but Shikamaru's Kage Mane to my knowledge isn't natural its learned (mind) ...So this "Nature" to me seems like a spiritual thing, something in the mind...I had a more reasonable reason earlier but I forgot if I ever remember it I'll post it

I don't understand your confusion.

If Shika is in control of Asuma's body using the knives, then the knives will be able to use the shadows abilities. You'll just have to prove that Shika would be more effective in Asuma's body.

If you gave those to a Naruto's body then it depends on the mind. Any element that the mind can use will be what the body can use.

Basically for the tournament assume that the affinity is transferred with the mind. Any elemental abilities used by the mind of the character can be used in the knives.

Sorry about the confusion.

I deemed the pair tournament a failure ( I some what posted this in this thread). So FBL, moved on with the next theme.


Keep in mind, FBL is not pairs tournament only. It’s more or less an organization dedicated to bring a new flavor after every tournament. None the less, I will modify the first two posts, so it concedes with the current tournament theme/rules.

I got your PM, It seems I have bad luck in kicking off tournament’s at the same time as the other.
Ill try not to post to many matches at once.


And I will still discuss on how should be added, kicked out or limited.

Basically for the tournament assume that the affinity is transferred with the mind. Any elemental abilities used by the mind of the character can be used in the knives.
Why do you believe that the affinity is transferred with the mind, when Kakuzu stole the affinities of others by stealing a part of their body other than their brain?

I say we just roll with the Mind/Affinity thing for now and work on it later...

@Id...Since the matches are one on one how would you feel with cutting the starting distances to 30 or 40 metres...The standard tournament has already done so and I think it would work better for this one aswell

mmm...point taken. Ill check this out in wave 2.


Oh and I have something planed for the next FBL tourney.

I shall wait for this one to settle down, and clear the smoke.
But some of you will be vary happy, and others will be utterly pissed.

I geuss I'm in the camp that one's Elemental Recomposition level is via one's body, i.e the Chakra coils....

Kakuzu's stealing the hearts of people for their Elemental affinity confirmed that for me.

A note about match threads.

A maximum of four active at any time will be imposed from now onwards. If a fifth is posted, it will be locked until one of the earlier ones is finished. It doesn't matter if that fifth match thread posted is MB:T, FBL or an exhibition match.

Agreed theres to much of that stuff. Especially the exhibition matches which I think are pointless.
