One of the elders once said today's teams were modelled after the teams of their parents. So, I think the black-haired person is an Uchiha, and the other is a Haruno... It would be pretty neat for the other guy to be the Akatsuki commander though.

They weren't talked about so I don't think they'll play an important role but still the boy on his team being the AL would be pretty good. It could show some sort of rivalry between him and the fourth hokage.

Oh, I thought both of the people on his team were male, but I guess the one with dark hair could be female. Anyway, it is strange that there has been no indication of what occurred to them at all during the course of the series, so I guess it is possible that they may be brought up later. Yeah, they were mostly fodder in my opinion. Yondaime's only place in the storyline was as Naruto's ... Kyuubi-giver/maybedad/guy he wants to grow up to be, and as a link to Jiraiya. Yondaime isn't much of a character in himself -- he dies before the manga even starts! -- only in background for other characters. So I don't see why people who were added for his background would ever be important. They weren't in the Kakashi gaiden, and Jiraiya hasn't even mentioned them or thought about them even once, so it's obvious they probably never did amount to much, or just went on to become boring normal ninjas. Not every team can be a new sannin team, and "genius" is alreacy a cheap enough term as it is.
