Hatake Kakashi vs. Uchiha Itachi

Hi guys/girls,

I have been wondering about something for a while now ever since I saw it on Episode 13 of the Naruto Shippuuden release from Dattebayo, and I was hoping someone that has or has not read the manga could help me out in understanding it. I have not read the manga myself as I would rather wait and see it come out in the anime.

After kakashi is finished telling the group about how Itachi's eye technique's work he sends a challenge to itachi and says "Just how bad has your eye sight become?" then uncovers his Sharingan which itachi responds with "kakashi.. Could you have?"

To me this sounds like kakashi has achieved Mangekyou Sharingan but I cant be sure is someone able to clear this up for me without giving to much away?

I won't tell you what happens since it's a spoiler but why not read the manga?

And isn't the anime close/past where they reveal what your asking?

Not yet, The anime is just coming up to where they confront Akatsuki after finding gaara dead. They havent explained anything about hatake so far.

If you could mark it as a spoiler and tell me why I would be extremely grateful, im dieing to know.

(spoiler maybe) yes Kakashi developed a new mangekyou sharingan. But he is still no where near Itachi's level. Itachi is a uchiha, Kakashi isnt. Therefore Itachi will always have the upperhand. Also, Itachi is the man who defeated Orochimaru when he was only 13. He is really powerful. Sorry to say, but Kakashi is nothing compare to Itachi.

Can you tell me if Kakashi developed the technique after his encounter with itachi? Since i know that to gain the Mangekyou sharingan needs you to kill your closest friend and since the Anime hasnt covered how he got his sharingan but I know it has something to do with his old team mate is it possible that he had already completed this part of the "ritual" ?

Kakashi developed his Mangekyou sharingan during the time skip 2 and a half years. Like I said.... sharingan is a uchiha kekkei genkai.... Itachi is a uchiha. His sharingan will always be far powerful then anyone else. Itachi beated Orochimaru when he was only 13!!! enough said. Itachi and the Akatsuki leader are current the strongest in the naruto universe.
