Kisame was playing with Asuma, the tip of Samahada completely over-powered Asuma's and his trench-knives. The same Asuma Sarutobi who was carrying around two Oto-Nins during the Sand-Sound Invasion Arc with no effort whatsoever.

He just wasn't impressive during the Immortal's Arc and Kisame would've raped him hard has Itachi not held him back. Maybe it's Kishimoto's fault for hyping him up and then just killing him off.

And don't get me wrong, I like Asuma a lot. He's a good character.

The White Fang, I agree with what your saying, but your not including the full story. Asuma knows his strength and he knew Kisame was stronger than him, but after Asuma was overpowered, he immediately understood how to fight him, estimating him perfectly on the ability he'd seen. Knowing he had no hope of blocking against the physically superior Kisame, Asuma show'd he could adapt to being the defensive player, far differant from what we saw when he obliterated those sound nins. And Asuma cut Kisame's cheek, and Kisame knew it wasn't play time anymore pulling out his big suitons.

But if you analyze this attack, Asuma stands completely still, not the slightest bit afraid. It makes you think he had some way to parry suitons, because when Kakashi shows up, he isn't at all grateful. He is intact and ready to fight, with only a scrape on his arm, and Kisame with a cut on his cheek.

Asuma fought that fight on par with Kisame, even though its not like either were going 50%. He survived the Akatsuki hype up being able to hold his head high, unlike Kurenai and Kakashi who had been utterly raped. Asuma's a great fighter, don't underestimate him.

Hes getting a bit more popular now after the Kisame/Gai fight. But the Anime kinda messed it up and made it long so it looked like kisame had a hard time at first. The battle was suppose to be quick and easy for kisame until gai opened the gates.

But hehe, it was only 30% of kisames real power^^

*EDIT* btw, i think a co-owner should be someone who stays active in this Fanclub or has contributed something, not just: "i call co-owner!" and then leaves.
the current co-owners are narutorulez and setoshi. i havent seen narutorulez in a long time and i dont even know who setoshi is.

welcome eleven, and concerning my sig... i really just liked that scene, i dont know why. It may be because Gai thought he defeated him just that easily but then it really turned out that it wasn't kisame, and not even near his real power.

But i really think i should change it.
