I suppose one thing that can be said about Gaia is that it's massive. It's tentecales were literally hundreds of miles long and thicker in diameter then most buildings. And that's even before it'd achieved it's fully evolved form. Ultimately it was going to take to the air so that it could properly suck the life out of the entire planet pentrifying the entire surface.

If only size meant something here.



It had an enormous regenerative ability, literally being blown to pieces, only to reconstruct itself into an even stronger form.

When was it blown to pieces? The first time Gaia appeared?



What's most telling about Gaia is that before it'd been corrupted by humanity's greed, is that it created an ultra advanced civilization literally overnight, complete with an infrastructure, buildings, habitation, technologies. The works. Heaven on Earth and all people had to do was live in peace and harmony with the Spirits while the Icarians tended to the Spirit Stone.

I remember this. Still can't pinpoint Gaia to it. This is what happens when disc don't run in your system anymore.



In many ways, it's not all the dissimilar to the Wave Existence that Fei is dependent upon, except that Gaia is itself in all entirety, while Fei is merely an avatar.

It is pretty much dissimilar to the Wave Existence. One trait isn't going to make one equal. Not even in the slightest.



In Grandia, there was literally no way to stop Gaia except through either the sacrifice of the Icarians working in unision or...

Of course I'm not. Grandia is one of my favorite games of all-time. It just sucks that I can't play it often because of a faulty disc.



Needless to say, it's just not possible to stop it through any means that exists outside of the Spirits. No amount of physical damage can kill it, no enviroment is too harsh for it to exist. Even casted off Fragments have been known to warp large areas of land into some freakish dimensional nightmare, complete with the no longer living statues of friends and family, that are beyond all help.

Good thing Fei at his strongest is no longer just attacking physically... especially when you beat someone who's not even manifested in the material realm.



Gaia itself was hundreds of meters tall and hundreds of miles long. Justin and his friends had to fight their way all the way into the core, while an army distracted it on the outside, and even after defeating all of it's interior defense, they wouldn't have been able to do anything if it weren't for the Spirit Sword and Feena removing the corruption.

But he still got pwned. Basically saying that weaker characters than Fei could handle it.



I will say that Gaia isn't an entity that explodes things and people. It prefers to simply suck the life out of you by simply being in the general area.

Except for Justin, Feena, Rapp and Liete.



I'd say Gaia is comparable to the Wave Existence itself, while Fei is merely 'blessed' by it.

Gaia is HARDLY comparable to the WE. That's an overstatement for Gaia.

.... thinking that Gaia is equal to a universal god at the very least. Even then, I don't know how that makes him the victor here. The fact that Gaia lost, and Fei didn't, is enough proof that Fei win here.

Correction.... it didn't effect an entire planet throughout the game. It effect two characters throughout the entire game. What, did you forget that it was in Zohar?

Fortunately, none of this erases the fact that it created the 4th dimension.

Meh... though I like the post, it is really unneeded. Simply put... what feats would clearly suggest that Fei loses against Gaia? If there is none, no amount of equivalency to Fei's power source is going to make a difference.

P.S. And I just got a new PS. So I can play my Grandia again *Is happy* >_<

Because as much as I can recall Gaia doing... Id wouldn't even be impressed.

Yeah, and none of that is impressive by Xenogears standard I'm afraid.

Taking to the air and petrifying the surface = Deus

Being massive = Solaris

Regenerative ability = Myyah in Opiomorph, every single Deus spawned Seraphim, and Uroboros

Creating a civilization = Deus

Warp areas? Try Deus and blackhole. That area'll look warped afterward

There's more, but I seriously don't think I need to continue. Pretty much nothing that is impressive by Gears standard. And the funny thing... all of those powers are laughable to Fei. Seriously, you're not coming up with anything that is proving your case. I'm not saying to change your vote, but your vote seems unjustified.

Maybe if Xenogears didn't have the most screwed up end game story sequencing I've ever had to deal with, I could refute what you're saying. I've got some youtube cinematics for the spawned civilization, the destruction and fall caused by Gaia, and a number of it's tentacles converging on a city to petrify it, hundreds of miles away from it's core.

Again, this is impressive how?



You can throw it all back in my face by claiming that Justin's group managed to beat it, but then again I can just as well say Maria, one of the Forgotten, coud survive Id's and Deus's "blackhole attacks".

Canon-wise, Maria doesn't even fight Id. In fact, Maria doesn't even meet the party yet. But I'm sure you knew this :amuse

Regardless, this doesn't even have a place here in this argument, since Id, Maria, or Justin-tachi aren't in this fight.

P.S. And Deus opens a blackhole in cutscene. The only one who enters the blackhole are Deus and Fei. Sorry, but you are not really doing to well here. Nuku is upset.

Being objective with Xenogears is easy for me. Tolerating that the inferior character beats the superior is the hard thing (for any fight, not just this one)
