Final Fantasy 10 Auron was killed by a very, very strong opponent...then came back years later and helped destroy the same enemy. Not to mention his magical arsenal can potentially be devastating as he usually has a few spells at his disposal.

Auron is far cooler, his power though varies, as he in the begining have a average damage of 150, and at the end have 99,999, and pretty much is maxed in every skill, and probably if his weapon had stone touch/strike or death touch/strike or any other one killing move.

Actually it was shown in FF10 that the 'Unsent' are practically immortal since Seymour was killed and went Unsent, later having a spear in his chest didn't even make him flinch and he was shit-kicked a few times yet never died because he just came back til he was sent.

Nightmare can win if he has the Complete Soul Edge which would swallow Aurons soul anyway.
