Problem with that is there is about 5x as much content in a One Piece chapter than a Bleach one. Also a Bleach episode is 19-21 minutes. One Piece episodes are more like 15-17 these days.

That's what I was thinking... ending of an episode was not done like ending of an arc to start complete long new filler arc. Without loosing tension of canon, I think they will add two or three per every 10 episode.

Now the filler is a needed thing. Would people have it where the anime went in a completely different direction then the manga? I think not. With the speed that the anime is catching up only two options are left.
1. Stop airing new episodes for a time/stop airing episode.
or
2. Go into filler.
I would rather see filler then repeats of old episodes or no episodes all together. The filler on the other hand has yet to be determined on quality. If it will be anything like the last filler arch then it should be good. Even though they only have 30 of story time to fill with stuff, in reality that could give the anime more then half a year of episodes before they go back to cannon. What they do with the filler, I don't know.

That's nothing. It's a good arc or two, but nothing insane. Having an arc or two of fillers in-between any major story movements like right now is usual. If the fillers hit 15+ episodes, then that'll suck, since this isn't a break between seasons, but the lull before the action hits once again.

We didn't "need" to go back to fillers right now in terms of being caught up to canon, Bleach is nowhere near caught up yet. We needed to do it now as it's the only chance for filler in the manga storyline in the near future.

Say filler 6 months till winter would make 24 episodes. However this winter... was basically also said in manga, so not sure when will winter come to Karakura town that does not exist :P

Even if that is true, Cannon continues in 1 month period, so we can expect 4 episodes of filler at most :D

Right because Naruto part 1 sucked, right? 2 chapters per episode is a good rate that is generally always entertaining and feels well paced, unless it's pure action in which case 2 and a half to 3 is better. 1 chapter per episode like Shippuden is way too slow but there's a big difference between 1 chapter per episode and 2. 3 chapters is overkill, there's been plenty of scenes in recent Bleach I wish even for dramatic effect they'd paced them a bit slower but they blew through them like they were in some mega rush to do as much as possible.

I'm well aware of this, did you read the rest of my post? I put "need" in quotations to suggest that they're not going to catch the manga like NEXT EPISODE, they're still 48 chapters away which if paced well is technically "plenty" but filler is of course necessary right now because this is the only place they can do it.

A better example of where an anime has absolutely needed fillers, good pacing or not is when Naruto originally went to filler. From what I recall they were only like 20-30 chapters behind the manga when they finished up Part 1 and that's including the Kakashi Gaiden.

I don't think so, they really don't have to make another filler arc after the current OP. They can make the next OP include something like Espada close-ups since I believe the anime will be in a bunch of fights at the time. If they really wanted they could put a lot of filler material in the future events: For example the battle with the gate guardians and Lunuganga were rather short in the manga.

Why the heck would they wait for the Manga to pile up by airing a 2 season-ed filler Arc if after only 20 episodes they're gonna add another one? Quite a stupid move in my opinion. I can only wish that they actually make something short, like a badass hollow that takes 5 episodes to kill etcetera, but definitely not another whole Arc. What they could also do is skip the 4 months (I don't read the Manga so I don't know if this happened in the Manga) and return at the right time to continue the Arrancar Arc, but in the meantime state that Ichigo was training throughout those 4 months.

I don't think there is need to panic for a filler arc like Bount Arc. I don't think anyone here thinks or expects a large and long filler arcs like that. As for personal opinion can see filler "episodes" rather than arcs.

They want fast paced episodes and no filler, well newsflash....that shit is never going to happen. The faster you cover the manga chapters, the more inevitable fillers become....Yet, if the series tries to compensate this, by slowing the pace down, it gets bombarded with criticism's and childish comments....


That's called a difference of opinion. If it was the same person complaining about both of those points, THEN they'd be a hypocrite!

It happened during Soul Society arc, it's happening now in the arrancar ark, with a few episodes of exceptions. The pace is fast, you didn't notice that?

Yeah, if you compare Naruto and Bleach, I would agree with Bleach's move. Make the manga parts high-quality instead of trying to delay fillers by conpromising the quality of the manga parts. Look at Naruto now; frankly, its pretty bad. From what I've seen, Bleach anime (I still prefer Naruto manga) has outdone Naruto anime in every single way, both fillers and manga-based material.

I watched all 127 episodes of Bleach in one and a half week. Call me a freak or whatever you want, but even though The Bountou Arc was at the very least a bit enjoyable, - on the contrary, Naruto's fillers made me pull my hair off - Bleach shouldn't have another Filler Arc, no matter the length of it, for at least until this season ends. I mean, what; 20 episodes so far since the Bountou Arc has ended? This is really stupid! Why the heck would they wait for the Manga to pile up by airing a 2 season-ed filler Arc if after only 20 episodes they're gonna add another one? Quite a stupid move in my opinion. I can only wish that they actually make something short, like a badass hollow that takes 5 episodes to kill etcetera, but definitely not another whole Arc. What they could also do is skip the 4 months (I don't read the Manga so I don't know if this happened in the Manga) and return at the right time to continue the Arrancar Arc, but in the meantime state that Ichigo was training throughout those 4 months.

Long story short, I'd absolutely detest another filler at the moment and it will most likely ruin the tense that has been created in the past couple of episodes with Aizen's goal etcetera.


I agree with you the filler arc wasnt bad but I think that the anime is catching up to the manga too quickly. Either way we will get some filler.

I'm not that bothered by the upcoming fillers.. The post-bounto episodes we've had so far have been beyond awesome (especially the Ikkaku fight).. So I definitely prefer this approach to them dragging out the episodes like crazy to the point of it not being watchable anyway (Shippuuden)

Bottom line guys. As long the filler isn't too long (few months blah blah) and as long it is quality (as in plot and stuff). We'll be happy.
