Texas mother hangs self and 4 children (3 die, but 1 infant lives)

FORT WORTH, Texas -- Investigators on Tuesday said a Fort Worth-area woman likely hanged her four young daughters in a closet of the family’s mobile home before hanging herself.

Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler said three of the children -- ages 5, 3 and 2—and their 23-year-old mother, were found dead at the Oak Hills mobile home park in Hudson Oaks.

An 8-month-old was still alive and was taken to a Fort Worth hospital where she was listed in good condition, Fowler said.

Fowler said the mother's sister made the grim find Tuesday morning after learning that the woman hadn't reported for work.

No identities have been released

Hudson Oaks is about 20 miles west of Fort Worth near the town of Weatherford.

Sad; the most likely reason IMO was that she probably snapped due to the finacial troubles and stress of raising four kids, from what's presented since she was 16...

The baby probably survived because his/her weight wasn't sufficient to cut off the blood supply to the brain.
Oh well, isolated incident. Hope the baby doesn't have a traumatic upbringing.

Well, this happened in Belgium too a few months ago. Mother murders her 5 children and then tries to commit suicide. She survived. Her husband, who was away when it happened still defends her.
I don't see how even a desperate mother can be able to murder her own children. It's just horrible.
The infant is lucky to be alive. Or not. When she grows up, she'll be told her mother succeeded in killing herself and her 3 sisters, and that only she (the infant) survived. That's not what someone wants to hear, is it?

This poor girl was sick. Making these babies was a mistake, too. The husband gets blame there. He must have seen the problems. lol! As a former wendy's employee i don't blame her. It really sucked! Though my former co-workers were chill so it was bearable. Yeah though the family has my condolences and i hope the family can pull through this time of crisis.:(

Something like that happened here twice, and only recently.

Guy killed his wife and kids and then himself, they had a good life and seemed very happy from the reports from thier extended family. Only about a week later did a mother kill herself along with her 8 year old daughter, just after she bought herself a new house. :(
