Fire and Ground are the only types that are any good against Metagross being Steel/Psychic gives it a shit ton of resistances.

In the anime it appears that a pokemon can learn any move in it's movepool along with ones that it "should" be able to learn, so Gross's movepool isn't that bad.

Fighting is only normal damage to Gross,who has insane defense by the way. I don't see how it would be ground though .
