Hmmm...I've been thinking an awful lot lately:
What would happen if the sound five were to take over Otogakure?

Me, I would think that they wouldn't announce it to the world, and they would also build it bigger and better. Oh, and if they looked through Oro's notes and found out how to bring people back to life w/out jutsu, then they would bring back Oro (me's confused on current situation @ hand) and they would plan a surprise attack on Konohagakure.

What do you guys think?

@Shibo: Yes, and the other villages wouldn't even notice until it was too late :LOS And Orochimaru would come back to life on his own. He's gifted at that. More than getting revenge on Konoha, though, I think the Sound Village, if it ever comes back, should focus on becoming a full-fledged, respected shinobi village.

@Ghost: Somewhere secret, that not even Kishi knows about :LOS I have a few theories, some more crack-ish than others.

You're assuming that the Sound Five have a 'normal' outlook on life. We know that Kimimaro would probably bring back Orochimaru in a heartbeat if he was alive and knew how to do it. Do you think Orochimaru treated him any better than the rest of the Sound Four? Gaara mused on that at the end of his fight with Kimimaro: "To feel so strongly for someone you would fight for them... and die for them... You and Naruto Uzumaki have that in common. However, what if this person you would honor and die for is not a virtuous person?" "Perhaps the companionship of an evil person is preferable to loneliness."

We don't know anything about the Sound Four's backstory. What if it was similar to Kimimaro's? Would it not be advantageous for Orochimaru to gather together a group of shinobi that, because he rescued them from a life of loneliness, were willing to do absolutely anything for him? After all, to someone who has never known the sort of person who would not throw them away for his or her own ambitions, Orochimaru is rather normal.

true you bring on a good point but kimmimaru was a bit differant than the rest it is true
that they probalby did work for him to get out of lonelyness but like you said we dont know a thing about there ambitions and not only that but while working under him they didnt seem necicarely happy now did they and like any human they should feel like they should and i dont think they would be happy if they were with oro again thats my theiry any way you guys have your own opinions and i lets not turn this into and argument.

It's not an argument. It's a debate :hurr It doesn't become an argument until insults are thrown.

Trying to piece together your paragraph...your argument is that, while the Sound Four may have been loyal to him because of their past, they were not happy in his service. Because of this, they would not want to return to that service. That's possible, provided that they're happier with him gone. Provided that one of them has the leadership abilities to bring together a village, or else they could wander the world as missing-nins. Provided they don't feel a lingering sense of duty to their deceased leader, regardless of their personal feelings of happiness.

Of course, it is also possible that the only reason they joined Orochimaru was because of the power he offered them. I've seen people interpret them this way, as well, although I find it makes them a bit one-dimensional if you leave it at that. Some of their dialogue supports this theory.

Without Orochimaru, I think that Kimimaro would make an excellent Otokage. This is mostly because I think he would look good in the position, and he has the ability to remain calm under most circumstances. He'd need advisors, though.

yea i think its more personle then just power kidowmaru seems to lead the rest whene
kimmimaru's gone and thats exactlywhat i think. and biside the rest of the four i dont think would ever whant to step foot in the sound villige again for fear of orochimaru
himself that and as humans they do have stumics (experiments)

Have you ever read Gigabomb (http://www.fanfiction.net/u/233785/Gigabomb)'s fanfics? She writes a lot on the Sound shinobi, and I rather like her interpretations. Her AU fic "A Fox and a Shark Walk Into a Bar" features a fully-fledged Sound Village, and a slightly less ambitious Orochimaru (who seems to have given up on the immortality jutsu).

Sakon, Ukon and Kidoumaru could very well have bloodlimits. Remember that strange abilities and appearances aren't uncommon among shinobi clans.
