well, you can tell if a ninja is left handed by which side their shukrien holder is. If it's on the left side, they're left handed, but if it's on the right, they're right handed.

Well, I'm re-reading the manga slowly to scour for Lefties (and a few other odd details). Haven't spotted anyone yet.

The problem seems to be that 'generic' background people aren't done with enough detail. I can't make out which hand they favor if I don't have something like the leg holster to go by. Even which way something is holstered on a person's back can be an indicator... but I'm running out of luck. Of course, I'm only in to about the Chuunin Exams again (I have to re-read that section again, someone pointed out a couple of 'new' Village headbands I've gotta check out for myself).

I'll post again when I've got some evidence one way or another. Sheesh. This is harder than I thought it would be. Grrr to generic background figures.

I dunno either, myabe one is born like that, or the first time you wrote with either a right or a left hand. Some parents see their children using their left hand and try changing them. They think its unorthodox, but I'm glad I'm a lefty.

Well, I think I was born left handed, because when I was reaaaaally young (four years old) a friend of mine told me that I was (in Italian the word for left-handed is "mancino" and that's not related in any way to the word "hand = mano" or "left = sinistra"... and I didn't know yet that a "mancino" was actually a left-handed person).
So, I asked another friend: "Ehy, what's a mancino?"
And she told me that a mancino was a faggot who couldn't use his right hand properly.
So, I felt really ashamed and started using my right hand for everything.
A couple of years ago, I started thinking about my early childhood and remembered this event... and decided to start using my left hand again, mostly because of fencing: usually, left-handed fencers fare better... right-handed ones have a harder time against them.

The human brain is divided into two lumps. A right side and a left side, if you will. Now, here is where things get strange. The brain is cross-wired so that the right lump of the brain controlls the left side of the body, and vice-versa.

So, that's why we can say that only Lefties are truely using our 'right' mind. ;-)

Just as an added geek note, the right side of the brain contains the wiring for stuff like intuition, creativity and such things. That's why there are textbooks for artists on how to access the 'right' mind better. That's also why more Righties are TypeA people. The 'left' side of the brain is more about structure.

So, righties might be better organized, and more 'by the rules' but us Lefties embrace our chaos and create new things for the rest of the world!!

Generalities are not all-inclusive, but they do cover a large percentage of the people they represent.

Even a twin who has exactly the same genetical data as his brother (or sister) can be a lefty while his bro (or sis) is right handed. I think being left-handed or right-handed depends on rather unlikely incidents in their very early childhood.

I also have a theory about how Lefties used to dominate the world, because almost all old languages (i.e. Latin, Greek, Chinese) move right to left, as so that ink or whatever wouldn't get on a lefty's hand, where newer languages (i.e. Spanish, English, etc..) have it so that text moves left to right, as such that rightys don't get ink on their hand... it's just a theory though.

If you One grandparent was german (1/4)

I also have a theory about how Lefties used to dominate the world, because almost all old languages (i.e. Latin, Greek, Chinese) move right to left, as so that ink or whatever wouldn't get on a lefty's hand, where newer languages (i.e. Spanish, English, etc..) have it so that text moves left to right, as such that rightys don't get ink on their hand... it's just a theory though.

That one with the Chinese is also wrong, because the hand never touches the paper when writing.

About Sasuke being left-handed... I don't think he is, because he scolded Oboro for making the mistake of placing the kunai holster on his left leg when he disguised himself as Naruto. He pointed that out and said, "He's right-handed."

So if the placement of the holster verifies a character's right-handedness or left-handedness, and Sasuke's kunai holster is always on his right leg... There we go.
