Both are possibly near invincible to melee except but both are able to be killed by weapons. Berserker is killed by the Hammer of Dawn. The Hunter is kiled by any weapon but it takes awhile to kill them. But since the Berserker doesn't use weapons that takes out the easy kill on the Hunter. Add the fact that the Berserker is blind and the Hunter can see.

Who do you think would win post what you think.

Hmmm, nice thread! Very good match up.

I say Hunter just 'cause they seem stronger.

Uhm........what? What the hell is the Hunter gonna do to it? Maybe if he had a Ghost or a Banshee, but I don't see any of his hand held weaponry doing much to a Berserker.

Hunters are smart unlike the berseker, As you have played halo1, halo2 campaign you'd no this, also they have a huge gun, the hunter wins

I doubt a Hunter has anything that can hurt a Berserker. It takes multiple blasts from a big fuckin' laser to kill a Berserker, it only takes a well placed bullet to kill a Hunter.

That huge gun isn't nearly as powerful as a Hammer of Dawn. And intelligence is meaningless in this fight if it doesn't help you kill your opponent. Unless it's smart enough to run away.

I've played both Halos and that gun isn't even close to as powerful as the Hammer of Dawn. And the Berserker is more then powerful enough to tear a Hunter apart.

Yea even I would have to say the Fuel Rod Cannon isn't anywhere near the power of the Hammer of Dawn. But the Berserker would still have a hard time dealing with the sheer force of the Hunter.

except for the fact that Hunters have GIANT WEAKSPOTS.....

...that can be exploited for MASSIVE DAMAGE

It takes a mini Ion cannon to down a berserker or you can just press the red button and disconnect a train cart if you have one in the area

Random, your wrong. The Berserker does not possess greater strength then the Hunter. If you take the gun away from the Hunter, it's a hand to hand fight.

Hunter's possess armor similar to that of the female Locust, it takes a MAC cannon or plasma battery blast to kill them with that armor in the novels. And they possess strength that makes the Brutes/Spartans and Elites look like nothing.

If anything, their equal. The Berserker is faster and possess greater senses but the Hunter has intelligence and armor on it's side.

Having played both, the Berserker is a much stronger and dangerous foe. The amount of firepower necessary to take that beast down is staggering.

except for the fact that Hunters have GIANT WEAKSPOTS.....

...that can be exploited for MASSIVE DAMAGEIf you have played the game you would notice that the weak spots that the Hunter possesses are very small they pertain to the back neck and stomach. The front region of the neck and the stomach are nearly impossible to hit when the Hunter has his shield up and he is on guard.

@ The White Fang

You called me wrong but nothing you posted refuted the fact that the Berserker has more physical strength then the Hunter. Not to mention that the Berserker is faster and there are weak spots in the Hunter's armor.

Well I will then. Both can break through walls and obstacles but some obstacles may be too strong for either to break. The Hunter also seems to throw obstacles around as if it were nothing. The Berserker can do the same. So I say they are equal in strength.

Beserkers have complete protection from most weapons except a huge satelitte laser. The hunter doesnt have a huge satellite laser, but they do have weak spots. The beserker would charge through the hunters gunfire and it would be a wrestling match. eventuallt the hunter would be hit in a weak spot.

Haloverse technology >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GoW.

......and? I don't think anybody claimed GoW had better tech. But its not like the Hunter's getting backup up from a Covenant battleship or anything.

A Hunter's shield can only be pierced or destroyed by a Covenant warship's plasma canons. Which is stated in the novel Fall of Reach/Flood.

Does the Berserker possess more power then a plasma canon.

The polls sure tell a different story than what the posts here do.

And I'm going with the Berserker because of the HoD > Any halo weapon argument.

No it does not, but how long can the Hunter keep a grip on his Shield well the Berserker, who he can't harm, keeps charging into him?

I can bring up the quote from the book itself, novels > game mechanics. Would you want that?

And your underplaying the durability and strength that Hunter's possess. The shield itself weighs a couple tons. And that plasma canon can kill the Berserker.

Hunter takes this one. I have a feeling it would eventually be able to overcome the berserker in martial combat.

I meant the "no it does not" as in the Berserker doesn't have a Plasma canon. And what part of my post had anything to do with game mechanics? Also how do you figure that Plasma canon is as powerful as the Hammer of Dawn?

My comparison was that the GoW has to resort to use a superweapon at their peak technology to take out a Berserker. A fuel rod canon more or less if far more powerful then any infantry weapon displayed in GoW by the Locust or Gears.

It does the same as the Hammer of Dawn. It can shear through and destroy a heavily armored Scorpion tank. Does the Berserker have greater durability then a 150 ton armored supertank?

The Hunter is the strongest of any being in the Covenant with only the Brutes coming in a close second when they are fully enraged. Their armor weighs several tons and their shield is so dense and durable that only a thread cannon (crew-served version of a down-sized Covenant warship plasma cannon battery) can pierce it since the shield is also made out of Covenant warship armor.
