Hiruko - this is Sasori's old favourite of his puppets. Hiruko is a full body puppet and Sasori resides in it. The pupper has a giant face shape on the back of it with a scorpion tail coming out of the mouth, to go with Sasori's name which means Scorpion. His left arm is a giant club which when de-attached can shoot out poisonous needles. Finally, the head can de-attach and shoot poison needles.

Karasu - Karasu is one of the first puppets Sasori ever made. the puppet has many hidden traps, like Posionous mist, Posion needles, hidden blades and many others. It is now used by Kankurou.

Kuroari - Another one of Sasori's first puppets. Kuroari is used to capture its opponent by opening up its chest and catching the enemy. Its arms also contain blades to attack the enemy. This is now used by Kankurou.

Sanshouuo - Sanshouuo is a large lizard like puppet with abilities we are not sure about its possbile it may breathe fire but its unsure. this is now used by Kankurou

Sandaime Kazekage - This puppet is made from a human body, but not just any human body. This is made from the most powerful Kage in the Sand's history: The Sandaime Kazekage. Years ago, he went missing and was never found; but in that time Sasori has turned him into a puppet.

I think Sasori has great potential as a character and I fell in love with his design from the get-go. I just need to join.

Edit: I would also like to contribute with a small fanart I did. I have not spent
a great deal of time on it yet, hence why some of the shading looks pretty iffy
(I also used a GIMP filter to soften the image since it looked kind of neat, but I might upload the original pencil version later) and the hair and the upper part of his head is far from done. I also got lazy with his right eye as you can see, deciding to let it be endowed in shadow.
Even though it's really nothing special and I got kind of lazy as I got further into the basic shading, I'm not going to work any more on it. I got a bad tendency to abandon my pet projects way too fast for even my own liking.

No, seriously... I think there will soon come some backflashs about his past, maybe why he left the Sand and how his father was killed by the White Fang and what changed his appearance. And I bet it will be an interesting back-story that makes more people like him or at least being interested in him. Sasori is one extreme cool character. I just wonder why so many people have to see backflashs or background stories first to recognize it right away. Bah, maybe it's some strange kind of heavenly gift not everybody has; the power to recognize awesome character right off before they are even properly introduced. :P Woo, I'm special! :D

Good thing about Sasori so far is, you can make the weirdest theories about his body and his past. Your idea with his parents as puppets kinda freaks me out but is interesting and somewhat matches with my theory about why Sasori left the Sand. In case you didn't read it, I write a short summary:

I once wrote something that because Sasoris dad lost to the White Fang with his superior war-puppets and died, Sasori lost all hope in the creations of his family and wanted to make ultimate puppets. He secretly started making experiments with living humans to find out how movement of the bodies works and to improve his puppets. After a while he wasn't satisfied with that anymore and he thought it would be great to make intelligent war-tools and so he tried to equip human bodies with puppet parts. He was caught one day and had to flee the country but before doing so he made one last attempt, a self-experiment where he created his ultimate, intelligent war-puppet: The Sasori-doll.

Wuuuaaaaaahhhhh.... I still think this sounds cheesy. Like an old B-horror-movie. :laugh

But still, I'm curious what he looks like under his coat. Man, we almost saw nothing of his body and face, only the lower part of his jaw looks like it is made of puppet parts, but some people tend to say he is only wearing a wooden mask, which sounds plausible because his face and even his haircolour doesn't match the baby-pictures Chiyo-baa-sama had in her flashbacks (I believe the little kid was Sasori).

Next is his strange body. It seems it is in a sitting or crouching position and still it is almost as tall as Deidara. Then the sliding-sound effects in the manga. I mean, his body looks like freaking Jabba The Hutt and how does he "slide" over the ground? Does he have wheels or something? Six small scorpion-like feet that allow him to crawl over the sand? Does Sasori even have arms?! His coat has sleeves but his arms must be under the coat because we never saw them. But he must have them, how is he supposed to do hand-seals?

Other people claim is body is only that huge because Sasori is hiding inside this puppet-body like in a small vehicle, only his head sticks out or even the head is only a puppet-part but that doesn't match with the eyes because they look human-like. If they were artificial they would probably look like Karasus, clearly recognizable as wooden. Maybe Sasori is sitting in a little tank and under his coat there are everywhere hidden weapons on his body; spikes, saw-blades, throwing needles, a flame-thrower, poison-cannons, his poisened metal tail and other things. Would be awesome. Muhahaha. Team Kakashi should start crapping their pants! MUHAHAHAHA! *daydreams* :D

I think sasoris "face" is definetly a mask, considering how his nosebridge, lower jaw and eyebrows look. As for the rest of the body, I really don't know, but I doubt he moves via wheels or anything, since that would probably prevent him from being able to jump like he does, he's pretty agile.

I think the reason we haven't got to see his arms yet is because he seems to be supporting his weight with his arms as he always seems to be hunching over.

I actually like the idea of Sasoris body just being a mixture of different weaponry etc, actually having modified it to his own body. that theory that he's some little guy inside the doll or somehow controlling it from far away doesn't really appeal to me, although I do agree any of those could indeed be possible. As for the weaponry itself, I hope it keeps a consistent "scorpion" theme, it would be awesome if he had more than one of those tails!

Sasoris second 'unveiling' draws a close (and, for me, uncomfortable) parallel to the spin-off with the filler character Kagerou (I think?) in the latest anime episodes.
It kind of leaves a bad taste in my mouth as I think about it, seeing as it was the one thing I really didn't hope for to come up.
Yes, another bishonen was hardly what this series needed, and I quite enjoyed the tooled up Sasori and his irrevocable and staunch mannerism.
That coupled with a single unshifting stern gaze, leaving an eerie contrast to the modeled grin his puppet mask had was quite the compelling design.

Now this 'new' Sasori... although I do like his design overall... Is to me just another revelation that I could have done without.
It left more to be desired for in my mind than it satiated.
Although I guess with Chiyos small reminiscence it was ineluctable (seeing as it would be quite a hurdle going about explaining the turn of events that lead to Sasoris appearance if Sasori actually had looked like Hiruko), I disagree with Kishimotos descision (the premise being he even thought about choosing and didn't have it established from the start).

The old Sasori was someone that the word "grotesque" could have fitted in so well with.
A criminal altering his own body in different ways is by no means new in the world of series, whether among the japanese comics or those produced by the western countepart, but I think Kishimoto still could have made Sasori quite good character by how he was integrated with the rest of the Naruto world and how the rest of his story was played out.
That and no matter how cliché and played out some things are, they never cease to exhilarate me.
What we got now is an evil, lazy looking, bishonen Kankuro clone (who also happens to have battle experience and talent in exceeding amounts as a bonus)!

With that arbitrary rambling out of the way I really hope, now with his favourite puppet unveiled and all, that we get to see Sasori as someone who utilize puppeteering uniquely and makes a fight truly worthwhile.
A true grand master taking what Kankuro had already showed to the next level and exposing us to more of where that came from.
To me, the only thing that can make battles in Naruto interesting again is a demonstration of finesse, taking the more simplified process of the normal power struggle out of the spotlight for once (actually, the fights in the latest chapters haven't been that bad in that aspect).

I would like to join too. Yeah i know its because of his "unveiling" as a bishie but meh. He's hot and the only character to really make my jaw hit the floor since Gaara. (Gaara is still top of my hawt list though) But Sasori just elbowed Neji in the face and took second. Hehe

Other reasons for liking him: He seems VERY powerful. He's gonna make old-people pudding out of Chiyo-baa. And it will taste like prunes. Not that i would/have ever tasted pudding made of old people. eww.

Anyways... I really want to see how it goes with him. The Gaara possibly being dead part was making me hate this current storyline and want it to end asap (with gaara being alive of course...) but now i really am anxious to see Sasori fight. His Kazekage puppet looks so awesome that im itching to do some fanart.
