What would have happened if the Chuunin matches continued?

The Chuunin final matches were interrupted by Orichimaru and others. Would would have happened if all matches continued until the end without Dosu getting killed before his match, without Sasuke arriving late, and without the Sand/Sound village "operation"? My predictions are below:


Match 1 -- Shikamaru vs Dosu -- Winner Shikamaru
I think Shikamaru could outsmart Dosu faster than Temari who is smarter and more tactical than Dosu. He should not run out of chakra this time and be able to complete the fight. There is a chance that Shikamaru would give up since he knows he is fighting a tough opponent and the not wanting to lose to a girl factor is not there.

Match 2 -- Naruto vs Neji -- Winner Naruto
No change

Match 3 -- Sasuke vs Gaara -- Winner Sasuke
I realize Gaara defeated Sasuke in the series. However, that was after Gaara had time to recover. At the time he was carried out of the arena, he looked in bad shape. Another chidori probably would have done him in. There is a chance that he could have some powerful secret up his sleeve, such as letting the demon inside him take control.

Match 4 -- Kankuro vs Shino -- No Winner
I don't recall detail enough about their fight to know if being in the arena would change the outcome. I'll assume the outcome stays the same -- both fighters are immobilized.

Match 5 -- Temari vs Shikamaru -- Winner Temari
Shikamaru must is nearly out of chakra at this point and can't put up much of a fight.

Match 6 -- Naruto vs Sasuke -- Winner Naruto
This is a tough call. Sasuke is in bad shape after having done two chidoris and cannot do a 3rd. Naruto is in good shape and probably still has his chakra turned off, allowing easier summoning of 9-tail fox power. However, he could easily summon fox power to assist a dying Sasuke, but I don't know if he could to fight Sasuke at this point in the series. I'm guessing that injuries from Sasuke in the match, their rivalry, and comments from the audience will inspire him to power up and win.

Match 7 -- Temari vs No Winner -- Winner Temari
Temari wins by default, as neither Kankuro or Shino won previous match.

Finals -- Naruto vs Temari -- Winner Naruto?
The obvious choice is Naruto. However, Temari could immobilize him like she did with TenTen before Naruto is able to power up. I suppose that Naruto's pledge vow to win the tournament counts for something as well.



Chuunin Selections -- Naruto, Neji, Sasuke, Gaara, Temari, and Shikamaru are promoted to Chuunin. Kankuro, Shino, and Dosu are not promoted to Chuunin

It could have come out differently. We can only guess what would have happened. I don't think that Naruto or Neji would have become Chunin. The protors themselves said that Naruto and Neji wouldn't become chunin..becuase of how the battle went..they're both strong headed or something. Gaara..would still be to crazy to become chunin..casue Naruto would have never given him a lecture about being love.d

I don't think Naruto would have become Chuunin had his only match been to Neji. However, if the matches continued and he won the tournament, they'd almost certainly promote him. Neji is the best technical fighter there and perhaps the best fighter at that age ever from the Hyuga clan (strongest existing clan). He will be chuunin. Gaara is a different story. The people deciding whether he will become chuunin likely don't know the depth of his mental issues. But you do make good point. It could go either way in my opinion.

I think you're pretty close, aka. It's hard to believe that Temari would make it to the finals after technically losing to Shikamaru :laugh ...but she is skilled enough to make it since she doesn't go up against Sasuke or Naruto to get there.

I'd like to say that neither hyuuga or/ uchiha are the best
their so close together they should share being 2 of the most powerful
bloodlines of the leaf village
as for the matches the writers would of had to make naruto win or he wouldn't be on his way to becoming hokage so naruto would of made it somehow past that match.

And yeah, the Shino vs Temari was the toughest for me to chose too! :nod I ended up choosing Temari because bugs are kinda useless against someone with a fan who could blow them away :laugh I bet Shino could find a way, but it would be really tough.

Gaara was out of chakra that why his tranformation failed sasuke would have won after the chidori and still have another one for later and he also would rest a little wille the other battle sare ongoin

Match one- Seems alright.
Match two- Pretty good.
Match three- Most likely Gaara wouldve kept on beating the crap out of Sasuke if he broke the Meditation dome Gaara was in.
Match four- I think Kankuro would've won, espically since Shino was about to die when Kankuro used Crow's poison.
Match five- Shikamaru has enought chakra in him after Dosu. He might be able to KO Temari at a very slow rate.
Match six- I aggree, except that he still has alot less chakra then he used to.
Match seven- Sure.
Finals- Probably, but most likely he'll call upon the Nine Tailed Fox's chakra a little bit because Temari is a strong fighter.

I agree although I don't think Naruto or Sasuke would have been selected to become chunins since they don't really display leadership qualities, just strength and not the other qualities essential to a good leader.
