TS Solid Snake vs SE Naked Snake, in a variety of fights.

First - Direct Hand to Hand combat between SS and NS.

Second - Survival fight (whoever can get dropped in like Naked Snake was in Russia but stalk and kill the other first within a few days time of being dropped into an unknown country).

This includes surviving long enough in a oppressive enviroment before the actual fight given GRU/Russian Soldiers are swarming all over the place. Also includes all the major villians from the Metal Gear series randomly in places that either one of them could run into and be forced to fight.

Who takes this?

Hand to hand I'd give it to Solid. He beat Big Boss on his first mission in hand to hand and well Big Boss might have been older then TS Snake is more experienced this time around. So I'd say Solid can beat him even in his younger form.

Survival however, I've got to give to Naked Snake. Mostly because Solid has never been in that kind of situation (at least not that I remember or that was stated) so I'd say NS has the advantage over him.

To be fair that was well and before Snake Eater was made or developed. Because I don't see Snake being quite talented enough to take down Liquid or Solidus with ease in hand to hand combat and Naked Snake's style is far superior to all of their's.

But its definetly possible.

True, I was just going by how he defeated him before in canon. The CQC system in Snake Eater is much better, but it mostly involve using his knife from what I remember and this is supposed to be a pure hand to hand fight.

I think it was because CQC can function fluidly within a gun or melee fight, which is why he used both a handgun and a knife at the same time. That doesn't say it doesn't work just as well with two free hands. :amuse

True. I still think Solid would take it because it seems like getting older doesn't weaken MGS characters and he was able to take Big Boss, but it would be a hell of a fight.

Off Topic, this thread's made me wonder if a Leon(RE4) vs Naked Snake knife fight thread would be a good idea.

that was the best part of MGS:3, no cammo, no weapon except the knife, drop kicking and knocking out and slitting throats as you go, so much fun

and Big Boss best the boss in hand to hand

Solid Snake wins both fights.

He's proven to be much better than Liquid already, and its canon that he whipped the crap out of Big Boss (AKA Naked Snake w/more experience) TWICE. Furthermore, since he's had the benefit of better training than Naked Snake had, what with being taught by the master himself and possessing Nanomachines (if they even do anything nowadays), he'd be able to take pretty much anything Big Boss did if not surpassing him.

The above quoted material is full of lies.

Master Miller said that Solid is a master of CQB, which essentially the same thing. However, technology and money restraints prevented this from being showcased very well. And in TS, Solid I believe worked as mercenary for a while after leaving Foxhound following the Outer Heaven Revolt, and defeated Frank Jeager (Gray Fox) hand-to-hand during the Zanzibar Incident. So he's certainly got plenty of experience to hold up to Big Boss when he was still Naked Snake. I'd say that Solid Snake would take this, but it's a split decision victory.

Survival wise, Solid was trained to be capable in that setting when he joined Foxhound, but Naked Snake definitely has more experience in that setting, I'd say, since his prime occurred in times when jungle settings were the most common battlefield.
