Light will get captured faster this time, Batman will not lose his time trying to prove who's the smarter and getting assloads of evidence before taking on Light, like Near did.

He'll just discover who's Kira, beat him up and confiscate the death note, in order to save as many lives as he can.

That being said, he probably couldn't find batmans name, though I don't really see how Batman would track him down. If Light has resources I think he would win.

Batman would care. Batman doesn't kill, he shares the same ideals as L. In fact, just about the only difference between L and Batman is Batman is much more hands on. Batman would probably choose to apprehend Light in person, taken alive.

I'll register my opinion and root for Light to come out ahead. I think using the Death Note Light can just set a traps using criminals to lure Batman out, such as having them commit major crimes in Gotham. But then again, you can't underestimate Batman - if he realizes how dangerous 'Kira' is, he would definitely take measures to avoid falling into traps. If Light uses the same methodology as L to narrow down who Batman might be, he might be able to narrow it down to a small group of potential candidates, and then he wouldn't hesitate to kill all of those candidates just to get to Batman. Light just has too much going for him compared to Batman in terms of advantage, and there are so many ways he can manipulate him simply by using the Note to take advantage of his allies to draw him out. Meanwhile, Light isn't going to be found no matter how many contacts Batman might magically have in Japan since the police have zero information on Kira.

Of course Batman wins that one - you could be talking about anyone there. But no way you are describing Yagami Light there though. If thats what you think of him you definitely didn't understand him at all. He defines himself as the god of his new world. He is so much the opposite of an inferiority complex that he can kill just about anyone who stands in the way of his perfect world without remorse. Superiority complex taken to the extreme with the ultimate tool to support it. This is what makes him so dangerous.

Even with the exaggerated strength of American comic book characters, I don't think he is on Kiras level of intelligence. We've seen Batman fall into several traps before. One screw up with Kira though and he is dead.

First, I'd say that Light won't make the trade. He sees himself as a god, and won't cut his life short (he wouldn't want his "new world" to have to deal with losing him). But he'd have Misa make the trade, so functionally it would be pretty much the same thing.

Second, even if Light with the eyes sees Batman, he still won't know Bat's name! In order for the eyes to work, you have to get a clear look at a person's face, so Light would have to corner Batman and get a snapshot of him without his mask on. I doubt Light can do that.

In the end, I say Bruce wins. His tech advantage is just too great. Unlike L, he has a worldwide corporation and his own personal satellites he can use. Also, this is a guy that designed the OMAC system that was capable of tracking EVERY superhuman on his planet.

2. You do NOT have to see the persons face to get their name with the Shinigami eyes. If you look at a person with the Death God eyes, even if you can't see their face the name will show up. Your probably thinking of Kuchiki when he got captured. He couldn't kill them because he couldn't see their faces which is still a factor. He saw the names as he was being captured though.

As soon as light trades for the eyes and see's batman, mask or no mask, he will know it's Burce Wayne, and with Lights intellect and awareness, he would know who Bruce Wayne was.

Light could only win if he knew that Batman was after him, so he could try to find out his name.
But if Batman has all the time in the world he will eventually find out who Kira is, and then it' s over.

Light really doesn't stand a chance. Maybe if you put Batman in the middle of Japan with no access to any of his resources Light might be able to do it.

Since he's in Gotham though, with full access to all of his resources and as much preptime as he needs, there's no debate. Light wakes up one night to see a dark shadow through his window, and is found broken and bleeding the next morning (with a small pile of ashes on the floor next to him).

I still don't see how Kira would even know Batman is after him. And when he finds out, its too late. One of Kira's main advantages was access to his Dad's computer and getting inside information on the case for Kira. He won't have that luxury against Batman.

It doesn't matter how Kira knows, these are the rules. But if you really need me to clarify a specific reason how this might happen, Kira and Batman now exist in the same world during this trial. Batman is really famous. Kira is pretty smart, and might perceive him as a threat even before he begins to move. He investigates a little, and sees that he has brought down many legendary criminals and is very tenacious. He also sees Batmans ethics in not killing, and figures, 'this guys ideals are similar to L. He will probably come after me.' Knowing he might be a threat, he begins to investigate.


All problems can be solved with a little thought. :laugh
