Great chapter. Good color page, pillar nunchucks, and the last scene was pretty nice.

Though Brooke being a swordsman does make it seem that he's less likely to join in my opinion, but there's still a good enough chance. It seems like next chapter (in 2 weeks unfortunately), he's going to explain things.

Aren't you underestimating Oda's creativity. If he has Brook join I'm sure he'll distinguish them sufficiently that one never becomes the shadow of the other.

This chapter was awesome. Franky using pillar-chuks has got to be another strength feat. I loled when Nami busted out with the whole transvestite deal. Then Brooke busts out of nowhere with a cane sword. OP definitely is the least predictable manga around.

Im kinda dissapointed that Brooke used a sword like Zoro, even though it was still awesome. I want Brooke to join the crew, but if he does I want him and Zoro to be clearly distinguished in fighting styles.

But Brooke made it clear that all his crewmates are dead and he is trapped in the fog for years and is very lonely, always wanting to meet someone and be with them. If he gets his shadow back, why else does he needs to stay in the fog or set off into the sea alone by himself? He has every reason to be with the SH because he not only gets the sunlight but also friends and crewmates he always wanted to have.

And no, he can't stay on Thriller Bark. It's Gecko's ship and it's not like Gecko is gonna get kicked out and never come back after getting defeated.

Also, there are many kinds of sword techniques. Zoro uses 3 Sword Style and relies on strength to fight, but from what we can see of Brooke, his sword isn't a katana, but maybe a rapier or broadsword. Brooke can also move fast and jump very high, so he probably relies on speed to fight, and as someone mentioned, the way he took out Tararan and the name of the move seems to imply his attack is sound related. So just because there's one swordsman already doesn't mean there can't be another one as long as they both fight differently.

And just because he's a swordsman doesn't mean he automatically wants to be the greatest swordsman in the world. Zoro doesn't have to fight every swordsman. We've seen Chaka and Lulu used sword, but Zoro didn't beat them up. Plus, Brooke is a musician, and what kind of musician wants to be greatest swordsman?

So Brooke can still join and his chances are really high.

anyway, just cuz brook uses a sword doesn't mean he won't join.

if brook does join, his and zoro's fighting styles would be different enough to be extremely interesting and not at all redundant. after all, when you saw ryuuma and brook use their '10 feet humming- arrow notch strike' attack, you were probably thinking "HOLY SHIT THAT IS SO FREAKING AWESOME". i know i was. i would love to see brook join the crew and fight regularly, and i'm positive that i would not feel at all bored by there being two swordsmen on the crew.

the way i see it, zoro is going to end up being a great swordsman (obviously, he'll be best in the world) that uses a blend of raw power, technique/skill, and aura/focus (like his asura aura, and his focusing to be able to cut metal with his shishi sonson). brook, on the other hand, will be an extremely strong swordsman that uses speed and skill.

as long as brook doesn't want to be the strongest swordsman in the world and is weaker than zoro, even if only by a little, then there won't be any problems between the two.
