Then again Shikamaru was smart enough to beat an Akaistuki member at teh chuunin level. Akaitsuki members are all around Hokage level, S rank vilains easily.

I never said Raito wouldent win, because he would, Shikamaru however is better illustrated.
Intellectual people avoid risks, Raito however takes everyone he comes across.

He's smart enough to tell if a person is lying or not.

He can definately lie himself.

And although he is a risk taker he has the upmost precautions.

Remember how he noticed the cameras were in his room?

He had the paper, which is normally good but that was just a distraction.

The lead, and the door handle that didn't go all theh way up.

And by seeing the lead was broken and the handle down but the paper was put back into place means it must have been a smarter person trying to hide the fact that they were in his room and not his sister or mom.

And I know ranks don't matter in Naruto.

But Shikamaru is a kid who beat a trained adult. hell Hidan is invincible and Shikamaru found a way to beat him. Or render him useless anyway.

But the worlds are totally different.

Shikamaru uses his brain for battle tactics for the most part.

Yagami uses his brain for shool, police work, and to keep his identity hidden.
