Setting For Round 1 - Forest of Death (Chuunin Exam)
Tournament Rules
1. Vote on the clear victor and it is required you state why they would in. Votes will be voided if there is no explanation, or spam.
2. Only 1 vote allowed. If later you are persuaded by someone and choose to vote for the other team, then only that vote will count.
3. No Plot No Jutsu. (Naruto doesn’t defeat Kakuzu, Sasori, and everyone just because Kishimoto won’t let him die.)
4. No filler jutsu’s. (We're letting TenTen have her crossbow.)
5. No Giant or Boss summons except for Kakashi (Pakkun), Temari (Beaver thing), Kido (Spider), Tayuya (3 Monster things.)
6. KWGoD, Aoba, Mecha Hidan and the Gai hype (Chuck Norris type hype) not allowed. Otherwise, one could have all 3 on their team and own EVERYONE. Please try and be serious and just go off their skills
7. Experience of fighting WITH or AGAINST ninja's are in play. (I.E. if you choose Kiba-Shino-Hinata, they may work better since they are a team and know eachother's strengths and weaknesses. Or... Kakuzu will know to fight Hidan from a great distance since he doesn't want his blood drawn, and because they are partners. Hidan will have an advantage of characters who don't know of his ability). EXPERIENCE IS ONLY IN AFFECT FROM CHAPTER 348AND BEFORE.
8. No Prep Time.
9. It’s a team fight. Team vs. Team
10. If caught bribing for votes or cheating (making aliases), you will be disqualified from the tournament.
***Please try and be clear with who you think wins. It would be koo if u can say at the bottom of ur post who wins. (i.e. Winner = Lil Wayne)

Vote: Mr. Noir et Caramel
(Vote may be changed according to the strategies discussed by the contestants later.)
citan's Team ":o!!!!!": Naruto (Part II, Three-Tails), Gaara (Part I, Sasuke Retrieval), Naruto (Part I, One-Tail)
Mr. Noir et Caramel's Team "Water 7!": Kisame (Shouten), Naruto (Part I, One-Tail), Sakon/Ukon (Curse Seal 2), Kidoumaru (Curse Seal 2), Shikamaru (Part I)
citan's team has three powerhouses with limited knowledge of each other's abilities. Sanbi Naruto is well into high jounin class in skill and elite jounin in terms of threat, with powerful chakra defences. Ichibi Naruto is a scaled down version of the same principle, low chuunin in skill and at best low jounin in threat. Both have access to ranged chakra attacks. Gaara in this battle is in a similar league to Ichibi Naruto if not more powerful, and is most effective at a range. All three shinobi have powerful defensive means.
Shouten Kisame's chakra limitations may prove significant while spearheading three powerhouses, particularly as the Sanbi will be his primary concern. Bakusui shouha, Kisame's signature technique in his skirmish with Gai, would cause a great deal of devastation to the forest terrain, provide him with a water source for future Suiton techniques, and could cause problems for Gaara manipulating his sand. The Samehada is Kisame's most important weapon in this scenario, as all three of his opponents are good prey. Both Ichibi and Sanbi will be attacking with chakra claws, which the Samehada would consume, feeding him further.
Noir Naruto adds to the skirmish without complicating the discussion further, bringing more chakra claw mayhem into action. As Ichibi/Noir Naruto has little control, we cannot expect too much strategy. Sanbi Naruto can use more strategy at the expense of tails, but for now I don't think that needs to be considered.
Shikamaru has a deadly shadow-stretching mechanism, as Kisame's bakusui shouha will distract and severely damage citan's team but more importantly, fell trees. The falling trees will allow him to rapidly lengthen his shadows and prove a distraction. Gaara doesn't tend to dodge too much and will be dodging the Suiton if anything, and Ichibi doesn't have the wits to avoid being binded. Shikamaru's foes are powerhouses though, so he can't hold them for very long. Still, may be sufficient.
He only needs to hold them a moment. And not necessarily all of them: catch Ichibi and Gaara. Then what? Gaara can still use his sand! Ah, but. He can't dodge. Kisame soaks his sand, rendering his armour useless, and Ukon uses kisei kikai. The problem for Gaara? He can't pull a Kiba and hurt himself, because the sand would stop him. What's worse, his strong sand armour is all over his body, slowing him down and resisting his control. While Ichibi is binded, Kisame uses the Samehada to restore all of his chakra and potentially kill Ichibi. Sanbi may escape or totally overpower binding.
Kidoumaru's arrows can harm Ichibi or Gaara, an arrow potentially killing either when they're held. Sakon's Rashoumon can block a few of Sanbi's techniques. Things are bound to come down to Sanbi Naruto against shouten Kisame, though… at least as the major part of the fight. citan's other two players have far too many plays that kill them.
The Samehada puts Sanbi Naruto at a major disadvantage by sapping Naruto's power while also allowing shouten Kisame to just be Kisame, as well as the problem that Kisame is probably not alone -- it's unlikely he's lost all his teammates. Any attack Naruto can pull, Kisame has the speed and strength to at least rival and the Samehada to absorb.
If Shikamaru survived up until now he'll ghost Naruto as close as he can then bind him at close range to at least get one second, allowing Kisame to finish him. If Kidoumaru survived, he'll use his most powerful arrow attacks to distract and potentially cause some harm to Sanbi Naruto, and use his webs to slow him down a little. If Sakon/Ukon have survived, kisei kikai could show up again (hopefully also with Shikamaru's help). If Ichibi Naruto has still survived, he can provide a little extra muscle to Kisame and help be a distraction.
citan's team loses. Unfortunately, Kisame is battling the three best foes for him to battle, Shikamaru synergises well with him and Sakon/Ukon and Kidoumaru synergise well with Shikamaru.
I find KN3 fully able to completely destroy the entire opposing team. Kisame's suitons may be able to nullify Gaara's sand, but he would definitely need time to take down a sand avalanche.
Meanwhile, there is no other person on Noir's team that could stop this ravaging beast. He sparred with the strongest of the Sannins and raped his left arm.

A few comments in response to Kai. Firstly, if Kisame uses the bakusui shouha (Exploding Water Shockwave) on the terrain immediately (precisely how he fought against Gai), Gaara may not even be able to use ryuusa bakuryuu (Quicksand in the Style of a Waterfall). The earth beneath the uprooted forest would itself be soaking wet and covered in a small sea above. Kisame will beat Gaara to the first jutsu, as he's faster and uses it as an opening move.
Sanbi Naruto did not damage Jiraiya: that was Yonbi Naruto (four tails). Sanbi is powerful, but not at the level of outmatching the Densetsu no Sannin just yet. He also has a serious problem with Kisame. His main attack is the chakra claw, but the Samehada absorbs chakra. If Sanbi tries to use the chakra claws he will fuel Kisame, and fuelling shouten Kisame's chakra supply makes him the whole damn Kisame. The chakra shield around Sanbi Naruto is similarly going to be absorbed by the Samehada, and so Sanbi Naruto loses many of his advantages against Kisame and only makes Kisame stronger.

This is true, but Kisame's Bakusui Shouha doesn't cover the entire Forest of Death. Gaara has been shown to have flotation at this point, and can use any dry earth available around him to utilize. Kisame would surely be troublesome for him though.

By strongest of the Sannins, I was referring to Orochimaru(I won't get into that debate with anyone here). Anyways, I never stated KN3 was outmatching him in any way, but was matching blow for blow against a kage level opponent. He destroyed Orochimaru's fake face in KN1, and ripped off his left arm in KN3. I don't find anyone else standing up to him.
Do you find it even the slightest bit ridiculous that the Samehada has the ability to swallow all of KN3's chakra? Kisame will either have to deal with SRA Gaara, or KN3.
KN3 dominated Kabuto in one move: http://devilbox.dead.org/n/291-300/292/Naruto_v33_chap292_p10.png
A shinobi who was stated to be as skilled as Kakashi, as well as a medic nin who are supposed to have the best evasive abilities. I don't find Samehada absorbing blasts that powerful :/

Alrighty, not much else I can say save that I disagree that Sanbi Naruto can take on shouten Kisame with support. I don't think the Samehada would absorb all of that blast, but held vertically in front of him it covers much of his body and it would only need to mostly absorb the part of the shockwave that crosses him, and that's assuming that he doesn't dodge (Kabuto is as skilled as Kakashi, but not as good as fast, and Gai is faster than Kakashi and noted Kisame's speed).
Say of that massive shockwave, half of the energy that hits him is absorbed by the Samehada. A quarter actually hits the Samehada and while not absorbed, doesn't hurt him. Another quarter hits him. Now, it's a given that shinobi protect their bodies with chakra at all times, even though it's not explicitly called out: they get pushed around too much to not. Kisame's chakra supply is immense, and I don't think what would survive of Naruto's attacks after being partially absorbed would be enough to kill him. Worse yet, his attack has just fuelled Kisame.
Throw Kisame's evasion into that and teamwork with his allies, and I really don't see Sanbi Naruto being sufficient here. Orochimaru was playing around, in my opinion.
Gonna have to agree with Esponer here. I thought it was simply Bukushouha, but whatever...same idea. Kisame doesn't need a body of water for his jutsu, but Gaara is at a severe disadvantage if the entire battlefield is underwater. He would eventually be able to mold the minerals and sand, etc. But it would take some time to be able to bring up the wet earth to be dried.
Noir's KN1 will be instructed by Shikamaru to perform Tajuu Kage bunshin right after Kisame's Aqua Shockwave ("I want a Sea no Jutsu"), and now you have everyone baancig n top of the water, which is most likely quite turbulent. All of the underwater trees and Naruto's bunshins make TONS of shadows on the sea floor. The water inflects the shadows, making them float longer and twist. Shikamaru has control over the entire battlefield now.
And guess what? If one of his opponents gets out of range at that point...that's what Kido's for. His webs have shadows, his spiders would too. His arrows have shadows, and he could attach a rope/string to his shadow and fire it into Gaara's sand (being easily deflected).
So here's how I think this goes down (in Shika point-form):
Step 1: Suiton Bukushouha - screw the forest of death, we're playing on the ocean.
Step 2: Tajuu Kage Bunshin - Distraction + Shadows. (See if the other Narutos take the bait and make their own clones...obviously citan won't...but would his Narutos know about this strategy? I think not. I think the slightly slow Naruto WOULD make clones of his own.)
Step 3: (Tajuu?) Mizubunshin - 10% Kisame clones...and a whole lot of them. Now, the other team basically HAS to make clones of his own. (Sakon/Ukon go CS2)
Step 4: Kido launches an arrow at Gaara (with string attached)
Step 5: Shika's shadow follows in the arrows shadow, binding Gaara after Gaara stops the arrow. (He can only hold him for a couple seconds for sure)
Step 6: Ukon/Sakon split up and one of them merges with Gaara (I forget which one) Gaara breaks out of the bind, but now as Esponer mentioned...he can't harm himself to get Ukon(?) out of his body.
After that, Kisame disappears under the water as all of the clones confuse everyone. Kido goes CS2 and AoE-rapes all of the clones with spiders and chakra webbing. Sakon goes into a frenzy, running through all the clones, making them go poof. Noir's Naruto would have been instructed to where to go by Shika, and he goes KN1 at this point, alerting everyone to his presence.
Now, depending on what Citan/Noir says...that's where my vote will go.
KN3 Naruto is quite capable of winning this, but so is Kisame w/ Shika and Sound 2. Sakon/Ukon was the best for fighting Gaara (thanks for that Esponer, genius) cuz you can't get much closer than that, hehe.
After Gaara is taken care of, Kn1 Naruto could fight Kn1 Naruto and go battle it out off to the side. All the clones could disappear as the other Naruto goes KN3 in a fit of rage.
Now I would argue it's:
Kisame, Shika and Cs2 Kido vs Kn3 Naruto.
I know where my vote is going now, but I'll wait to see arguments. (I know my argument is flawed and there are holes in it...so don't assume I think this is foolproof, I just wanna know what you would do)

KN3 Naruto would be able to take out 30% Kisame and KN1 because to me Kisame doesn't seem like the tactics type when it comes to fighting. So it would be beats vs. beast with KN3 coming out as teh victor, then turnin it's attention to The KN1 whil Gaara battles sakon and Ukon and pre-shikamru, btu it would depend on the environment. KN1 would battle CS2 Kidomaru. The environment would also be a factor, But after Kn3 finishes his opponents then goes to help its roughly game over..

The problem, ZeroBelow, is that you're forcing individual match-ups upon both teams. Sanbi Naruto and shouten Kisame are the most powerful players in this match, and yet your reasoning relies on their fight being done almost immediately and nobody backing either side up.

FINALLY MY MATCH :)!
from what i've read a huge part of the opposing team's strategy will be to flood the battlefield thus nullifying gaaras attacks (he still can attack with sand in the jar but more on that later)
the first thing that kisame did against gai was flood the battlefield yes.
but to do so he had to throw his sword and jump into the air. this will leave a huge opening. for kn1/gaara to attack him or to have him and his sword thrown when kn3 does the chakra explosion. if kisame is seperated from his sword the other team would be completely destroyed.
http://groups.msn.com/NarutoMangaReturns/rvolume29.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=34565
the narutos would put great emphasis on getting kisame's sword away from him since they have seen its effects first hand
the first thing that kn3 naruto did in his fight was go ape shit and release his chakra. i have no doubt in my mind that kn3's chakra explosion would push back/disperse 30%kisame's wave. while doing this the weaker members of other team will be poisoned/knocked unconcious just like sakura was. and this is the reason that i chose my team. kn1 naruto has the chakra shroud to protect him + he is already envolped by the kyuubis chakra so he will not be poisoned by it. gaara has the automatic sandshield/sandarmor so he should be able to survive the initial blast as well.
looking at the other team i think sakon/ukon(very unlikely),kn1 naruto and kisame. might survive it. if samehada was knocked away from kisame by the blast he will be easy for kn3 to kill. gaara can take down sakon/ukon as well.
now if he battlefield is flooded and kisame didnt lose the samehada as shown in his fight against gai he is susceptible to high speed taijutsu. kn3 has this because in VotE it took a 3 tomoe sharingan to track kn0 naruto.
gaara will still be able to defend himself against sakon/ukon with the sand in his gourd. also i dont see sakon/ukon getting close to gaara at all because of this even if gaara was shadow posessed it wouldnt be over a split second and he can still move his sand without having to move his body.
oh and saying that gaara will be slow when his sand armor is wet is from the anime. since this is the manga battledome its a null point. yes i know when sand gets wet it becomes muddy but its not normal sand if it was the sand shield wouldnt have been able to protect gaara against an explosion

Teamwork wins this match. Citan's team has no teamwork. At all. KN-3 Naruto is crazy and impulsive who just wants to attack. The same is true from KN-1 Naruto that we've seen thus far. Gaara, during the SRA, is still a loner. They'll all want to fight separately and that sucks since you're facing a chess master, Shikamaru.
The most obvious match will be KN-3 Naruto against 30% Kisame. Fortunately, Kisame still has the Samehade in this cloned state and it's also shown it still possesses its special abilities (IE the thorns in handle). Kisame should be able to rape Naruto's chakra like we've already seen. It's never been stated that Samehade has a limit to what kind of chakra, how much chakra, or even what level of chakra it can absorb so it's retarded to think that KN-3 Naruto is too much for Samehade. Anyway, we've seen Samehade completely rape Naruto. It's fact.
It's also quite obvious that Kisame will flood the battlefield. Whoever said that KN-3 Naruto's chakra explosion will blow away that wave isn't thinking clearly. Water will still flood the entire surrounding. If you push some away eventually, after you stop pumping out chakra, the higher level of water will rush in to fill in the lower area. KN-3 Naruto's chakra explosion may delay the water, but it won't repel it. I believe I also read something about Gaara's sand not being afflicted by the water. That may be true for the sand in his groud yet the sand he makes from the ground, which is his biggest improvement to the SRA, is nullified. To think otherwise isn't wise. First, he can't touch the ground through the water. Second, we all know what happens to wet sand. We dont just throw such environmental facts away.. even in mangas like Naruto. Third, there's KN-1 Naruto to play around with Gaara.
So now citan only has KN-1 Naruto. If Kisame hasn't raped KN-3 and Gaara yet, which is entirely possible with what we've seen from Samehade, then that little kid has too many skilled opponents to deal with.

As for this fight, to be honest, I don't think it's that close and I my Team wins. Before I present my starategy however, I will note 3 things.
1- There is absolutely no reason to think Kisame Samehada cannot absorb the Kyuubi chakra in 3 tail form compeltly. In fact, it is the exact opposite, and it is fair to think 3 tail form is perfect food for Samehada. On this point, everyone should remember how Kisame just swiped his sword and how Naruto's chakra was gone. Basically then, 3 tails is just a more gathered and or flowing outward mass of chakra; thereby Naruto 3-tails will get it taken. Equally so, 1 tails is in a similar position.
Another thing to note about the whole Samehada situation and Naruto, is that Kisame is one of the duo assigned to Naruto in the manga. Honestly, think about that. I mean, it's pretty obvious why Itachi/Kisame are the best pair to deal with Naruto, of which is likely assumed and does have the most powerful demon in him. In short, Itachi= genjutsu freak, Kisame= bye super strong chakra Naruto. In any case, I suppose a counter point, and or thing to argue against is whether Kisame can survive to take it. Well, I would say he easily can, given that all he needs to do is get relatively close, and that he has both the speed, power, and fighting ability to do so. Incidentally, he need not even get close if worse come to worse, and as has been shown the Samehada can come back to him. So then, as far as comparing him to Orochimaru, I would say, in the most raw sense, that he has superior raw power and speed. Hence, he could avoid damage and or stand his ground etc.
2-Kisame Spitting up a huge bit of water means Gaara can't turn the landscape to his advantage and that he will be all around boned. Granted he still has his automatic sand defense, but with Kidomaru and shika working in conjunctions he will be caught. On the other hand, 1 Tail Naruto has the speed and the chakra claw to do the damage needed. Not to mention Kisame's huge shark jutsu thing.
3-Citan team has no teamwork whatsoever and Kn3 is a completle wild cat. Hence, before he even gets his chakra taken I see him hindering Gaara pretty badly, and or forcing him to defend in excess.
-Strategy-
-Kisame spits up some water to begin, and thus the area is flooded and debris is made en mass. With this done, he simply moves about in the water and or gets close to Kn3 as needed and takes the chakra. And, if the situation calls for it he just throws the Samehada in the general direction, whilst using his shark jutsu as a distraction and attack. From here, it's just a matter of Kisame Vs Naruto. In this case, Kisame is faster, a better fighter, and stronger, and if needed has Mizu bunshin's + Water prism.
-Ukon/Sakon and Kidomaru work together. Kidomaru spam his webs all over and thus makes moving on the water hell. In this respect he targets Kn1 the most. In addition, he also partially targets Gaara. Anyway, Sakon/Ukon should be fast enough to get past the automatic defense if their is multiple attacks occurying and if they use a specific... errr... go getem style. So yeah, once close it's into Gaara body for cell owning.
-Shikamaru moves around, follows, and occasionally deligates to Kido where to shoot his webs in order to best use his Kage mane. Debris helps also. [/B] Hence, shika works with the sound 2, and as indicated below, is added by Kn1 if needed. In addition, shika uses the debris to hide and or even dives under water if needed.
-Kn1 Naruto would actually work with Shika a little, but be more so an aid to Kisame. Unlike Kn3, Kn1 isn't completly uncontrollable and could probably take an order or to about attacking. Anyway, Kn1 main job is go in for a good old fashion beating against Gaara, first and foremost. Secondarily, he is to use his chakra claws to help Kisame a bit. Thirdly, and this third thing overides both others in fact, he is to intercede if Kn1 is on shika too much.
---I win. Naruto's being matched against Kisame in a forest area, and in the general sense, means his chakra is drained and the flying shark jutsu Kisame used on Gai can follow up for death. Gaara being matched against Kisame in a forest means he can't control the landscape and is at the mercy of the smexy shark.-------

I mostly agree with your post Noir, but you should note that KN3 isn't out of control. Post-skip KN3 and pre-skip KN1 both had about the same amount of control. They were more bloodlusted, but could control what they were doing, they weren't Kyuubi only (like KN4).
Secondly, I think that KN1 vs. KN1 sounds pretty reasonable. I don't think Kido could catch a KN1 Naruto, since he just stood and took a whole Goukakyou (sp?) without being damaged or worn out at all. He would definitely be "as strong as 2 elephants."
Kido, Sakon/Ukon and Shika would get to take on Gaara. Assuming Shoten Kisame used the water shockwave, Gaara would be limited considerably. Sakon/Ukon's speed is impressive, he could probably land a hit on Gaara, and as Esponer said, do the cell killing attack by fusion with Gaara.
Gaara = dead
KN1 = compromised
KN3 vs Kisame:
KN3 isn't really really dumb. He will notice if Kisame is sucking up his chakra with the sword. He'll do what KN1 did at VoTE, and hit the water, basically creating a wave (Suiton without any chakra use). Kisame would have to use chakra to counter this, but Naruto can't just stand there throwing waves at Kisame. Kisame has good evasion, and water is his element, so that won't hurt him much. Naruto's only chance is to take it to a close fight and hit Kisame with his chakra claws (making sure Samehada deals with one, he should use the other on Kisame). Even so, consider this:
Chakra = willpower + life force (or something like this). Thus, when Samehada absorbs the one chakra claw, Kisame becomes more energized, and then when he gets hit, he loses it. Basically, its a waiting fight. Kisame might end up losing in the end, but before the fight is over, since it would be incredibly long, his teammates will come to help. KN1 Naruto can be considered unable to fight, since the two would kind of cancel out. Though perhaps somewhat unable to really hurt KN3, the rest can create distractions for Kisame to suck up more chakra, and if Sakon can get inside of Naruto, its game over.
I just don't see KN3 beating the whole team singlehandedly by himself.
Team Water 7 wins.

I think Team Water 7 has this.
Let's say both Kn1 Narutos fight it out. Because i'm really to lazy to cover multiple scenerios.
CS2 Kido & CS2 Ukon are more then enough to defeat Gaara. Kido can spray Gaara with arrows while Ukon gets inside Gaaras field and fucks up his cells.
Shikimaru gives advice and throws out shadows around. Hell he can even help the K1 Naruto in his fight.
I think KN3 Naruto can beat the crap out of 30% Kisame even though Kisame can absorb charkra. However the fight won't end quick. Also I think the Sound two would not be that tired (especially Kido) after fighting Gaara
My vote goes to Team water 7

if it is easy as a sword swipe why didnt he just use samehada to absorbs gated gais chakra? its because he couldnt gai was just to fast for him. if kn3 gets as close as gai i know he'll be able to rip his face off just like he did to orochimaru. naruto knows this so he woldnt do anything stupid even though he is kyuubified.
3-Citan team has no teamwork whatsoever and Kn3 is a completle wild cat. Hence, before he even gets his chakra taken I see him hindering Gaara pretty badly, and or forcing him to defend in excess.
1 gaara has his sandshield/sand armor to protect him
kn3 still has control youre thinking of kn4
-Strategy-
-Kisame spits up some water to begin, and thus the area is flooded and debris is made en mass.
this will be your first and biggest mistake. as seen here
http://groups.msn.com/NarutoMangaRet...&PhotoID=34565 kisame throws his sword up/jumps up in the air to spread the water evenly. kn3 is fast and relentless and he knows about samehada this will be the best opportunity to seperate samehada from kisame or kill kisame outright. once this happens your team goes down with relative ease.
With this done, he simply moves about in the water and or gets close to Kn3 as needed and takes the chakra. And, if the situation calls for it he just throws the Samehada in the general direction, whilst using his shark jutsu as a distraction and attack.
in the general direction? in the manga kisame was extremely close to naruto when he cut through his chakra. throw samehada and miss and kn3 will use the advantage to attack him with his chakra claws. kisame has to activate this effect also since samehada didnt absorb the chakra coming from asumas knives.
-Ukon/Sakon and Kidomaru work together. Kidomaru spam his webs all over and thus makes moving on the water hell. In this respect he targets Kn1 the most. In addition, he also partially targets Gaara. there is no way sakon/ukon are as fast as lee with no weights. that being sad even if the whole field is flood gaara can use some of his sand from the gourd to attack them he doesnt need to crush their whole body just their head/legs.
-Shikamaru moves around, follows, and occasionally deligates to Kido where to shoot his webs in order to best use his Kage mane. Debris helps also. [/B] Hence, shika works with the sound 2, and as indicated below, is added by Kn1 if needed. In addition, shika uses the debris to hide and or even dives under water if needed. kn1 would be busy fighting the other kn1.
Thirdly, and this third thing overides both others in fact, he is to intercede if Kn1 is on shika too much.kn1 was just as crazy as kn3. and if your kn1 went after gaara there is no way shikamaru or the sound 2 could survive very long against him. what is my kn1 going to do just sit around and watch the fight?
---I win. Naruto's being matched against Kisame in a forest area, and in the general sense, means his chakra is drained and the flying shark jutsu Kisame used on Gai can follow up for death. Gaara being matched against Kisame in a forest means he can't control the landscape and is at the mercy of the smexy shark.------- gaara doesnt need to control the land scape he has killed many other people with a sand coffin and he is able to hurt people badly just with the sand in his gourd. your arguments make it sound like my people will just stand around and take your abuse which makes no sense at all.
Kido, Sakon/Ukon and Shika would get to take on Gaara. Assuming Shoten Kisame used the water shockwave, Gaara would be limited considerably. Sakon/Ukon's speed is impressive, he could probably land a hit on Gaara, and as Esponer said, do the cell killing attack by fusion with Gaara. this is the same sakon/ukon that had a ton of trouble finishing off kiba. how do you think they would fare against gaara even with just the sand in his gourd?
KN3 isn't really really dumb. He will notice if Kisame is sucking up his chakra with the sword. HE WONT HAVE TO NOTICE HE ALREADY KNOWS ABOUT SAMEHADAS CHAKRA ABSORPTION
Naruto's only chance is to take it to a close fight and hit Kisame with his chakra claws (making sure Samehada deals with one, he should use the other on Kisame)which he is able to do it took a 3 tomoe sharingan to track kn0 at VotE
Chakra = willpower + life force (or something like this). Thus, when Samehada absorbs the one chakra claw, Kisame becomes more energized, and then when he gets hit, he loses it. Basically, its a waiting fight.
kisame said samehada eats it and thats it nothing about him being able to absorb the chakra that it ate.
I just don't see KN3 beating the whole team singlehandedly by himself. the same kn3 that ripped off oros face in 1 attack and cut off his arm with another and took out kabuto (who is vastly supperior to Sakon/Ukon Kidomaru Pre Shikamaru) by just releasing his chakra? right...

To citan, you do realize that CS2 Kido and CS2 Ukon/Sakon fought at the same time period as SRA Gaara right? There is no way in hell there is that big of a difference
To say Kiba gave CS2 Ukon/Sakon trouble isn't exactly true. Kiba was doing everything to stay alive, Kiba displayed great skills in his battle with Ukon by keeping himself alive to a stronger opponent. Ukon was clearly in control of the fight the whole match.
We have Ukon who is the strongest of the strong 4 and Kido who Neji ignorantly called the strongest based on the fact he was just so amazed that Kido was so strong. No way in hell Gaara at this time period could be so far ahead of the Sound Two that he can defeat them at the same time.

kimi was the strongest out of the sand ninja. he took on all 4 of the sound ninja at one time and beat them. gaara was around kimmis level so i think its safe to say that gaara could take them both

Several corrections. Kaguya Kimimaro, when healthy, defeated each one of the Sound Four. Only the anime says he did so all at once. Furthermore, as much as I've grown to despise Kimimaro due to his fanclub (I hate to say it; I used to like him), he was more powerful than Gaara even when ill. Not by a long way, but he was stronger in the end.
So your logic doesn't connect Gaara and the Sound Four. I don't want to get involved, so I'll just say you need something else. "Kimimaro when some unknown amount weaker was stronger than Gaara, and Kimimaro when at full power was stronger than each of the Sound Four individually, therefore Gaara is far above the Sound Four's league" just isn't going to work.
I've been swayed of my opinion, and would like to switch my vote to Mr. Noir et Caramel.
30% Kisame's Samehada is more than capable of absorbing chakra from Citan's party. Flooding the environment with Bakushouha will put a very troublesome scenario for his Gaara, while Kisame changes the terrain to his advantage.
Citan's team of 3 jinchurruki have no teamwork whatsoever; as Gaara is countered by Kisame's opening move, KN1's chakra would be sucked up in an instant, however KN3 would be a gigantic powerhouse to bring down. Noir's party would have 90% of his party slaughtered, but a team effort with everyone supporting the success of Kage Mane, Water Prison, and chakra sucking from Samehada should make Noir the victor.
If any points arise to support the lone KN3 taking down Noir's team, I may be swayed again, but it's doubtful. Winner- Mr. Noir et Caramel

can a clone of samehada use the chakra absorbing ability? If so why didn't Kisame use it against Gai when he went gates with chakra flowing out his body?

Like he had the speed necessary to do so. The Shoten Kisame just possesses 30% chakra of the original. The Samehada is the exact same, and he didn't have any time to swipe it because Gai suddenly appeared in front of him, and obliterated him in one move; the Asa Kujaku.
^^^ Yup, Gai was too fast for Kisame to even dodge, let alone shave him with Samehada.
The argument that the Samehada was authentic is strong because of what happened when Gai tried holding it.

Know we are left with two characters with big power and big stamina.
And a 4 (well 5) man crew.
Kisame is a beast, and at 30% he still is. But as 30% semi clone…he does not carry around the authentic Samehada. This hampers Team Water 7 greatly, because Kassime is low on durability and stamina/charka. At least with Samehada, he is able to lower stamina/charka beasts of Gaara and Naruto.
Then we have Sakon/Ukon and Kidomaru. When the Sound 4 faced Kimi…they did not do so well. Gaara is not to far behind from Kimi. I would see the trio having a hard time SRA Gaara.
And finally we have Pre Shikamaru…..his best plan the first time he encountered Gaara was to maintain a safe distance, and hide or RUN. Ok but enough about the pun. Shika is often praised for being so technical.
A master Mind persay. But Gaara only real weakness is no feat protecting/disabling Genjutsu’s.
He is a genius. A mature one. Still vary much relentless. And most importantly; does not underestimate.
At this time, he now respects Naruto. And Naruto respects Gaara. All grudges aside they would be willing to work with each other. Can you say the same for Pre Shika and the sound nins plus Kisame?
His trade mark shadow bind, I seriously doubt it would prove to be useful to someone who can control the sand with a gesture.
I am giving this to team Citan.
KN3 Naruto would out last Kiame.
Gaara would best the Sound nins and Shika by himself.
On a personal note - Citan’s team seems to have potential if he would opt out KN1 Naruto.
Citan’s “team :o!!!!!” FTW.
KN3 provides the up close and dangerous battle.
Gaara - Provides back up.
I am certain 10 points could be used on another character that would make Citans more well rounded.

IMO, KN3 could solo the entire other team.... he really needs to be moved up a tier. KN3 was shown to destroy a ninja with comparative skills to 30% Kisame by yelling at him. Kabuto is on Kakashi's level. Kakashi and Gai are equals. Don't bother telling me it was the difference in their styles... as if the way they were fighting would have helped them avoid this.
http://groups.msn.com/_Secure/0WwA2Dy0cCywfQNtmifgGxQa66MXVCuPRZeyzoucoF8613ySfP wM*VrXoh!Xag1JHd6MsBM3irYUNtvtXMIFqilEhc5A8pwUeddO 2HFXs!tLgjxNGJBiwh3gyzgGOXe*jFH0ly!jkWj4/Naruto_v33_ch292_10.jpg?dc=4675617066212829832
Sameheda can absorb that? ATM, the Sameheda's abilities are vastly overrated. I've reread every Kisame chapter in the manga, it never says anything about restoring eaten chakra to Kisame. It has never been shown to absorb all that much chakra either. It wiped the energy from Naruto as he began to channel Kyuubi chakra. It is also worth noting that several minutes later, Naruto was about to rush in to fight Itachi. If it had drained all of the chakra from his body, his fatigue would have taken a bit longer than a few minutes to blow over. Comparing the offensive chakra of Three tailed Naruto to the passive chakra of pre-KN1 Naruto is just... wrong. People place KN1 Naruto on Mid-High Chuunin level. KN3 is at least somewhere between Elite Jounin++ to a Mid-Kage level. KN4 really stole KN3's thunder, but from what I saw, the power gap wasn't very big. The major issue there was that KN4 lacked Naruto's self control. Imagine a KN4 in which Naruto has total cognitive control and imagine a KN3 in which the Kyuubi has total power. Who do you think would have injured Jiraiya more while training? Sort of reminds me of the Kid Buu vs. Super Buu debate.
KN1 is in total control of his actions, and could work well with Gaara if they didn't feel like watching KN3 solo the other team. Kido's arrows can't harm either of them. Kido's webs become useless as soon as Kisame makes a lake out of the forest. KN1 could easily sever them anyway. KN1 would yell at Sakon/Ukon to blast him away. Ukon can't get close enough to Gaara to merge. There is no way he is as fast as gated Lee. Even if he made physical contact with Gaara, he wouldn't be able to merge through the Armor of Sand. Shika could at best stall Gaara, but KN1 would get him out of it in no time at all. Of course these strategies assume that Gaara will stand there on the defensive. Gaara could easily take down the other team (except KN1) if he wanted to.
Gaara can still make sand from the ground, even through Kisame's lake. The water turns the sand into..... wet sand! The sand's weakness to water is filler and illogical. If sand is still under his control after being saturated in blood, then it can move after getting wet. There is also the matter of Gaara making his sand from underground minerals against Kimimaro. The ground is obviously moist in such a lush, green, environment. There is groundwater that he is forced to move the newly created sand through. There is no evidence that the water would hinder Gaara's ability to make new sand. Moisture is not the enemy of sand.

I'm changing my vote to citan. I never read this thread after I posted, but after the stupid shit that Camel through into my thread I had to read what he said in here. It's obvious to me that citan decimated Camel in the arguing and logic department. I'll even argue against my own points:
1.) Teamwork isn't a factor. Neither team has any teamwork beyond Ukon and Kido who know each other.
2.) Kisame won't rape KN-3's chakra because there is too much of it. He'll swipe, take some, and get trampled. If Kisame could rape that much chakra in one swing why the hell is he scared of Jeraiya?
3.) Itachi and Kisame being assigned to Naruto doesn't mean shit. Camel forgot the little part about Itachi being from Konoha. Sasori was in the pair for Gaara. Guess what!? Sasori was from the sand. Moreover, we saw Kakuzu and Hidan get "assigned" to it.
4.) Gaara doesn't need that much sand to be fierce and I can think of at least one way he can make more sand.
It comes down to this:
KN-3 is too much brute force for Kisame. Last time I checked Kisame wasn't able to regenerate an arm like Orochimaru.
Gaara won't even become close to falling. Naruto, Sakon, Kido, and Shika can't get through his defense. They aren't fast enough.
KN-1 is, at best, a stalemate until Kisame is defeated.
Changed Vote
Winner - citan
A lot of the things you said make sense, however...did I read correctly in which you said Kisame 30% is comparable to Kabuto?
Kisame 30% was going to take Gai out with a smile and without breaking a sweat. People seem to forget just how much the gates improve someone's ability.

Well that kind of goes through the A = B, B = C, C = D, so A = D. There is a bit of inconsistency there, but I still don't see Kisame taking that hit any differently. He might take less damage from that blast, but KN3 would just follow it up and stay on the offensive until Kisame went down. He could try sticking to ranged attacks, but I doubt they would be the least bit effective against KN3.
The main battle here is KN3 against 30% Kisame... their fight determines the winner, all other shinobis are just pawns. After reading some posts here I think that KN3 would win.
So, winner:

Kekkei Genkai creates a new element. It doesn't retain the properties from the original elements. Mokuton is wood, not earth.
Just for you, Camel.

PROTIP: Highest size is 7 for some reason. >_>
Anyway, I do have a question regarding this though. What would mokuton be weak and strong against then, O Master of Elements?
On to the match, I'd throw my lot in with Mr. Noir et Caramel.
Kisame has two opponents literally throwing chakra at him. citan's potential number advantage due to KB usage is nullified by Kisame's crowd-control skill and Noir's own KN1. Once Kisame floods the place, Shikamaru's shadows suddenly have a very largue venue, and though he can't hold his opponents in place for long, a second is all he really needs.
Add that to Kidoumaro's web and ranged attacks, plus Sakon/Ukon for support taijutsu, and the only problem would be Gaara.
However, I don't see Gaara performing well on a lake for obvious reasons.

Mokuton isn't effected by the element circle. Neither is the Ice shit that Haku does.
I wasn't quite referring to that, so I'll take it as though you understand me and are saying that Mokuton is neutral towards all elements?
Violent By Design
04-26-2007, 09:44 PM
Oh what were you referring to then? And yeah more or less I think Mokuton is neutral toward all elements. Granted that fire burns wood and melts ice, but its more or less just a neutral element.
Lightning > Earth > Water > Fire > Wind > Lightning (right?)
So if you mix Earth and Water...it would stand to reason that Lightning would still > Mokuton, and Mokuton would still > Fire.
Mokuton should be neutral to Wind. But given real-Narutoverse logic....Temari cuts down trees like toothpicks, so....Mokuton seems fairly fragile in the element circle :wink :wink
However, instead of just telling people in ridiculous "I'm screaming for attention like a 12-year old" size-font, Kojak, how about providing solid proof that Mokuton does not indeed retain its elements?
If the new element is completely stand-alone from its base parts, it should be neutral to everything. If this is stated somewhere officially (and no, your word is not official) then that's cool. Otherwise, it's just your opinion. And speaking your opinion louder doesn't make people agree with it any more than they would already.
Complications arise. :sag
Mokuton would be strange being > Fire, because fire usually burns wood. I see where you got the reasoning, but then what would Ice's weaknesses and strengths be?
Until we get any kind of an explanation (which we probably won't) then I'll assume all kekkai genkai are neutral in the element circle, though things that stand to reason would still defeat the element.
ie. Katon>Mokuton
Ice would be resistant to lightning and weak to Earth.
But yeah, these things don't actually make sense, so Kishi probably put in that they were neutral to avoid logic getting in the way.

for all the people voting against me nobody has said how 30% kisame will be able to counter kn3's speed and kn3 knows about samehada's chakra absorbing abilities, so he will not use the long range chakra claws without seeing an opening, or kisame not having the sword
Citan, it was my original assessment that Kisame would not be fighting KN3 alone, and that he would have Shikamaru backing him up.
KN3 is faster, but speed doesn't always win if you don't have the intelligence to back it up. From what I have seen of KN3, he's a mindless beast. A wild animal with good instincts, but no problem-solving ability.
This is what I think would happen:
Naruto charges at Kisame because he senses the largest threat/chakra, Kisame smiles and braces himself for impact with Samehada out in front of him to block the blow. Shikamaru stands 10-15 yards away, ready for his plan. Kisame steps forward as KN3 approaches, about to slam into him with the length of his sword, but the instincts of KN3 kick in and he very quickly dodges and races around to Kisame's backside. Right where a shadow was waiting to snag him. Shikamaru will only be able to hold KN3 for a second, but he raises his arms to make KN3 vulnerable, and Kisame badly wounds him.
Kisame + Shika can handle this. That's MY opinion. Intelligence and cunning > Speed.

actually speed can counter shikamarus shadow temari was able to get away from it(yes i know it got her eventually) when it was coming to her so why couldnt kn3 with his superior speed get away from it?
and if he did manage to catch him and lift up his arms as you say he could to leave him exposed he could just release his chakra to cause lots of damage.
which leads me to my next point in order for kisame to cut through narutos chakra he has to cut all the way through it as seen here
http://groups.msn.com/NarutoMangaReturns/volume17big.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=37786
but if it is stopped as seen here
http://groups.msn.com/NarutoMangaReturns/rvolume16.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=33277
chakra can still be used since later in the fight we see asuma channeling his wind chakra through the knives as seen here
http://groups.msn.com/NarutoMangaReturns/rvolume16.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=33285
The problem Shikamaru and Kisame have with KN3 isn't just his speed. His power puts his speed to shame. I doubt Pre-Shikamaru's shadow bind could hold KN3 for even long enough to raise his own arms, but for the sake of argument, lets say it can. There is nothing to keep Naruto from simply flaring his chakra and destroying everything within a 10 meter radius while Kisame approaches him, just as he did against Kabuto.
Regardless of Sameheda's ability to defend against this attack, there is no way he could take it in stride. It is going to put Kisame severely off balance what with there being massive waves forming/disintegrating ground under him and all. If Kisame falters even once, that is when KN3's speed comes into play, and he rips Kisame in half.

Alot has been posted already and the main arguments seem to be the sword of Kisame versus the chakra claws of KN3. Kisame's sword does shave chakra but if a claw of that size and power is coming at him with that force would it shave it all. I doubt it, he shave the chakra from naruto when he was powering up but this is not just chakra being emitted from his body. It is a beast coming at him trying to rip him in half. His sword would help but I doubt it would be enough to stop KN3.
This would be an intense battle with the little people getting crushed. Sakon and Ukon have strange abilities and could be troublesome for KN1 Naruto. They wouldn't get close enought to KN3 or Gaara. Shika is a genius but cannot hold KN3 with his shadow or stop Gaara from using his sand. This was shown in the hospital. Kn1 can fight KN1 to the death or Camel's may survive with help to be killed by KN3. Kido can hide in the forest and shoot arrows but KN3 will clear the forest out and kill him eventually.
While all this is going on gaara and KN3 will be left to fight Kisame30%. Kisame can shave chakra but he will need more than that to face KN3. He will stand strong but eventually get ripped in half. KN3 is a beast with low intellect but he has natural fighting skills of an animal. Kisame30% has shown no jutsu to stop KN3 and will lose this battle.
The winner is Citan
