The girl in the photo in my last post looks vastly different from Kyon's younger sister. She looks like Angelica from the series "Gunslinger Girl".

Fortevn, I understand why Yuki had to take out Asakura. My question is why the writers had to write Asakura out of the story AND have her resort to trying to kill Kyon to get a reaction out of Haruhi. Surely the writers could have had her do something else to get a response from Haruhi.

I just joined this message board and I'm glad that I found this fanclub for Ryoko Asakura since she's my favorite character in the series "The melancholy of haruhi suzumiya".

Why? Because she's pretty, is kind and thoughtful while being somewhat twisted as seen in episode 4. No wonder the boys rank her A++, I know that I would.

Just so you guys know, I'm also a supporter of the Kyon/Asakura pairing and perhaps the only one in existence.....

As for Asakura-san having to leave, she *does* make another appearance of sorts in the fourth novel. Once the second anime comes out that story should be included in it. :nod

Yeah it'd be great to see the true Asakura-san return, there are all kinds of possibilities for her in the series. Maybe she could borrow some of Haruhi's power the way Yuki did... :amazed

After seeing episode 4 and how Ryoko Asakura tried to get a reaction out of Haruhi by trying to kill Kyon, I wonder to myself what other ways she could have (or could still get if she returns) gotten a reaction out of Haruhi that DIDN'T involve murder.

I can think of several....

1. Seeing as how Haruhi seems to have some sort of bond with Kyon, one surefire way to get a reaction out of Haruhi would be if Asakura were to try and become Kyon's girlfriend. This option would be one that I'd LOVE to see happen. Asakura in turn would get an interesting reaction out of Haruhi and possibly even learn numerous things about human behavior while making Kyon one happy guy. :)

2. Another thing that Asakura could do would be to form a friendship with Mikuru Asahina. Since Haruhi seems to have some sort of twisted link with Asahina, if Asakura were to become friends with her and even call Haruhi on the way that she treats Mikuru, then Haruhi would be sure to react in an interesting manner. Also, Asakura would gain a great of information about human behavior in the process while Mikuru could gain a new friendship and look up to Asakura as a big sister.

3. One other thing that Asakura could do to get a reaction out of Haruhi would be to join the SOS brigade. That way, she'd be in a position to influence that club's activities with her presence and connections along with Haruhi's behavior.

Of course, these 3 options run the risk of leading Haruhi to end the world and start over. Also, Kyon and Mikuru might not want establish any sort of ties with Asakura for their own reasons. As for the 3rd option, Asakura would have to have done something unusual in order to get in the SOS brigade.

This is definitely an interesting possiblity, and one which has been the topic of a few fanfics and I'm pretty sure some doujinshi already. :nod

Well it's possible, although since Mikuru is from the future there's a good chance she either knows the truth about Asakura already or would be told about it by her superiors.

The thing is she probably couldn't get in, she's already tried talking to Haruhi several times at school and has pretty much always been ignored. Haruhi just doesn't have any interest in her.

True, but you've also got to consider that technically she's only supposed to be Yuki's backup for their mission. Asakura knows that if she does something out in the open that steps too far out of line Yuki's definitely going to intervene.

About Mikuru, I can imagine that if Ryoko started talking to her that she could very well be cautious, even uneasy especially if she found out about what Ryoko tried to do to Kyon.

Kyon: (sweatdrops) Frightened out of her mind is more like it....

On the other hand, Mikuru is quite trusting and Ryoko IS quite good at being charming and friendly so Asakura might be able to in time, gain Mikuru's trust provided Ryoko handles it properly.

It seems strange. Asakura tried to kill Kyon yet she's my favorite character AND i would still like to talk to her and spend time with her.

I guess her beauty, charm and overall friendliness along with the likely circumstances behind her actions involving Kyon easily negate whatever anger I have towards Asakura.

Anyways, I can imagine that guys line up to ask her out on dates given how good looking, charming and friendly she is.

Thanks for showing me her other theme song. It sounds good and has nice lyrics to them.

I suppose that I was kind of overreacting to her 1st song since I'm of the view that Asakura DOES have genuine emotions of some sort AND does care about others even if it's programmed and even if she is fairly twisted (heh).

I guess I interpreted the 1st song in the wrong manner. I had assumed that it was implying that Ryoko tried to kill Kyon WITHOUT any influence from the radical aspects of the Data Entity and that she's evil which is the exact opposite of what I believe her to be.

I realize now though that the first song was meant to show her dark and calculating side while the song that you've just shown me shows her light and friendly side.

Sorry for any confusion. I guess I get a bit overprotective of Asakura at times since a number of people tend to misinterpret her actions in the anime/manga as a sign that she's evil when in fact, she's anything BUT that.
