Of course he could always pull a Sentry and throw Mario into the Sun (Super Sonic gains faster than light speed, a degree of super strength, flight and invincibility).

There is more but honestly it is so painfully obvious that Sonic wins this that really why bother continuing?

The Starman, and all the caps from Super Mario 64. Quite a few of his items from the RPGs also have time limits. Though he still has a lot of others that don't have time restrictions.

I don't really know...without help, Mario has his jumping ability and some hand to hand combat (thinking Smash Bros). He's fast, but not as fast as Sonic. Sonic has his speed, his spin dashes and I think his Sonic Wind attack from SA2.
