I personally think neji wins heres why zabuza uses the mist byakugan can see straight through that.
If zabuza uses the water prison neji can break through it as proven in the kisame.
suitons should be no problems for the kaiten defense.
and finally since zabuza usually goes upclose for kills with that clever of his neji would easily see it coming and dodge then performing the Hakke Rokujuuyonshou easily takes the demon from the hidden mist down.

i agree with both theories. Zabuza is an upclose attack person, while Neji is a fight to the fullest. Zabuza, demon of the bloody mist, would probably just be signing his death sentence if he fought Neji, of the Hyuuga Clan.

I know nothing about post time skip neji but he is a joinin. He should be around Zabuza's level on overall stats now and Neji being a close combat expert Zabuza doesn't have alot of chance. He can't sneak up, Neji would detect him immediately and through mist Neji can see Zabuza's chakra flow so nowhere to run or hide . Neji wins this.

Pre time skip, Zabuza takes Neji without much of a hassle. Post time skip, who the hell knows? He's a Jounin, but how powerful of a Jounin? I'd assume he's relativly new in the Jounin world, and while probably more powerful than the average "new jounin" I wouldn't think he was near the level of more experienced Jounin's, like Kakashi/Gai/Asuma.

Based on these assumptions, I give the fight to Zabuza, even post time-skip, as I am of the opinion that Zabuza is near or around the same level as Kakashi.

I think Neji would win based only on the moves we've seen Zabuza do. Neji can counter them or go around them. For example, if Zabuza uses his Hiding Mist Technique, Neji would use Byakugan to see Zabuza's chakra. Im guessing that Neji's Kaiten PTS would be stronger and able to counter Zabuza's weaker water techniques. Only area Im not sure on is if Zabuza does the Great Waterfall technique, but thats only if Neji lets Zabuza perform the hand seals.

I would say Neji has got this match because, if Zabuza got him in that water prison, then neji knows how to egt out due to the weak point in the technique and not only that but Neji knows some long range Hakke techniques and his Kaiten would stop any suitons Zabuza throws his way, but if Zabuza uses Kirigakure no jutsu, then Neji wouldn't be able to use Byakugan, then thigns will be harder, but still if Neji can lock his tenketsus its over

Neji has this, Zabuza's main way of attacking is sneaking up on his enemy and going for the kill, that doesn't quite work against Neji. He also goes into close range when he attacks, again, that doesn't quite work against Neji. Neji should have this.

2. neji is a close combat specialist nad will evade the slow sword of zabuza easily
3. kaiten will disperse any water atack as well as zabuza's sword.
4. Zabuza has tenketsus(as does everyone else) and thus will go down after one missed swing of the giant katana

Neji wins this one pretty easily. Neji is Zabuza's natural counter. He can literally counter pretty much every attack from Zabuza. Rank and status wont save Zabuza on this one, Neji owns.

From what we have seen so far and like what many have already pointed out, Neji has an answer to each and every one of Zabuza's jutsu. Based on that Neji will most likely take this match.

However, there is one area where Neji might lose out, which is Zabuza's blade. Neji has not been shown being well versed in weaponry. Moreover, Zabuza armed with his blade can certainly dish out powerful strikes, that may be hard for Neji to counter.

The only defence Neji has over Zabuza's blade is Kaiten. Other than that, I'm not too sure how is Neji going to handle his powerful cuts.

We might be able to see from Suigetsu the true extent of Zabuza's blade capabilities.

that wasnt hidden mist that was an electrical imbued mist, its liek trying to see throguh a brick wall and then 5 feet of steel, and thats filler so no it does not count sorry. and dude, even PRE SKIP neji can beat zabuza, jonin level has nothing to do with it, and his kaiten could blow away the mist because its made of chakra, zabuza isnt ultra fast, he simply knows how to sneak up on people, and neji could still see him with the byakugan and still win. post skip neji rapestomps because he already faced an expert sution user ( kisame 30%). IM confident shoten kisame > Zabuza since he commented on how K0 naruto had more chakra than even kakashim and knows what to expect form zabuza, so he immediately goes straight to zabuza and uses the 64 palms, which should kill him, and if somehow (plot no jutsu is like the only thing that would allow him to live) he survived he could just hit him again.

Neji wins this match he have the byakugan. The byakugan has a nearly 360 degree field of vision except for a small blind spot behind the first thoracic vertebra (near the back of the neck), which is its only known weakness. Byakugan users can detect anything around them within a 50-meter radius (although Neji Hyuga manages to increase the radius to over 800 meters during the timeskip), making them close-range combat experts. The Byakugan also gives the user the ability to see through basically any matter over extremely long distances. This seems to be a combination of x-ray and thermographic vision.
